Our Story

Luhan didn't know what to do. Ever since he had told Xiumin about wanting to leave, the boy had been more upset and touchy feely with Luhan. On one hand, he was happy to be back together with Xiumin but on the other hand, he couldn't help but wonder whether Xiumin was just being like this to make him stay in EXO. But even if that was the reason why Xiumin was back together with him, Luhan couldn't feel any anger towards the boy. He was just relieved to be able to call Xiumin his again.

~

All the Chinese members were ecstatic. For Christmas, they had been granted a week off to spend with their families back in China. Tao had been talking about everything he was going to do for days, planning everything he would say and buying presents in preparation. Lay had been peaceful, smiling like an angel everytime someone mentioned the holidays, his demeanor comfortable and relaxed at the thought of going back home. Kris had smiled, more than Luhan had seen him smile in the last few months. The usually cold boy had played around with the maknaes, let off the beagle line for pranking him, cooked with D.O., sang along with Chanyeol on the boy's guitar and even discussed leadership duties with Suho (much to the delight of the gramps). It was nice to see the boy happy.

Luhan himself was excited. He hadn't seen his parents for a year and a half and couldn't wait to see them. He had already gotten gifts for the two of them as well as gotten 2 suitcases to bring the gifts the EXO members had requested from China. They had one day left before they were moving and Baekhyun had (once again) organised a party for everyone, a sort of early Christmas for them while they were still together. Luhan had been a bit cautious of the party, considering how well a not-so-long-ago party had gone but had agreed after Baekhyun's (unresistable) puppy dog look.

He had been given the job of getting the decorations up (ugh) and had been annoyed, especially since Chanyeol and Kris, who were both freaking giants were helping out in the kitchen. He could understand Chanyeol working in the kitchen, the boy was a magician with meat, but Kris couldn't even tell the difference between parsley and celery, why the was he working in the kitchen?

Luhan scoffed as he worked alongside Chen and Lay, putting up the Christmas decorations as Baekhyun pointed out where to put them from below. What's even worse, Luhan thought, is that Xiumin was getting the Christmas tree along with Suho and the stupid manager. Everyone would have been much happier if the manager didn't come along to the party but it looked like that wasn't going to happen. Unfortunately.

"Here?" Luhan asked as he stuck up the balloons. Baekhyun looked at the wall criticially. "A little higher." The boy said seriously. Luhan did as told. "Now?" He asked once again. Baekhyun nodded. "That's fine." Luhan stuck the balloon up, wincing at the disturbing sounds the balloon made as his fingers rubbed against it. D.O. walked into the room, a spoon in his hand. "Has anyone seen Jongin? He's supposed to be helping us." D.O. asked, a curious look on his face. Luhan shrugged. "Didn't he say he was going to the practice room?" Chen asked.

Baekhyun turned around in confusion. "I thought he said he was going to be with Taemin? He payed me 5000 won to get out of decorating so he could go to him." Baekhyun recalled. D.O.'s face seemed to darken at the mention of Taemin. Luhan glared pointedly at Baekhyun. The boy glanced innocently at him, confusion written on his face as he shrugged his shoulders. Luhan, not very discreetly, gestured to D.O. and glared once again. Baekhyun turned around and seeing the angry expression on D.O.'s face, bit his lip in realization. "You know what, I'm not so sure. You're probably right, Jongdae!" Baekhyun said quickly.

D.O. just scoffed and went back into the kitchen, stomping slightly. "Good job, ." Luhan threw one of the balloons at Baekhyun's head. Baekhyun yelped, dodging it. "Ya, How was I supposed to know? But honestly, does he like Jongin?" Baekhyun asked curiously. Chen sighed. "Of course he does. Haven't you seen how much Kyungsoo stares at him? It's creepy, to be honest." Chen shuddered. Lay joined in the conversation. "Whatever is happening between them, we shouldn't interfere. Let them handle it themselves." Lay said, staring at Chen and Baekhyun pointedly. Baekhyun and Chen exchanged a mischievious grin. "Oh god." Luhan said. "I already feel bad for them."

Chen and Baekhyun burst out laughing.

~

It wasn't much later, around 5 minutes or so, when Kai burst through the front door. "Guys! I have great news!" The young dancer said excitedly, his voice loud and happy. Luhan fell from the stool he was standing on from the sudden appearance of the boy. Chen burst into evil cackles at Luhan's fall. Lay and Baekhyun joined in soon afterwards. Luhan glared at them in anger as he got up, his cheeks warm with the embarrassment. "Shut up." He muttered as he turned to Kai. "Could you be any louder?" Luhan asked him sarcastically. "Yeah, of course I can." Kai said dumbly before proceeding to yell his first line again, louder. Luhan's face met his palm.

D.O., Chanyeol and Kris emerged from the kitchen when hearing the yells from Kai. "What the is going on?" Kris asked as he watched Kai scream. Kai shut up and spoke excitedly. "I have great news!" The boy said, his enthusiasm returning. D.O. nudged Chanyeol. Chanyeol glanced up. "Oh, uh, right. Jongin-ah, weren't you, supposed to, uh, help us out, in the kitchen?" Chanyeol stammered, his voice awkward and robotic. D.O. and Luhan both facepalmed in unison. Kai shook his head. "This isn't the time for that! I have great news!" The boy said waving his arms around excitedly. Chen raised an eyebrow. "So you keep saying. Now, why don't you actually tell us?" Chen said sassily. Kai nodded. "I was just getting to that." The young dancer took a deep breath. "The manager won't be with us at the party." Kai revealed, a grin on his face.

Luhan's eyes widened. "What do you mean? How?" He asked in confusion. Kai smiled proudly. "Taemin will be distracting him! The boys are going to pretend to need to run an 'important' errand and steal away the manager for the day!" Kai explained. "Seriously? Why? How did you get them to do that?" Lay asked in surprise. "I just told him the manager was being creepy and staying at our dorm all the time and that he would be coming to our party and then Taemin suggested the distraction thing and Minho and Onew and the rest of them agreed!" Kai said, his voice filled with happiness. Luhan grinned at the same time he heard Chanyeol and Chen break into cheers. This party was going to be great.

~

Xiumin and Suho walked into the house 2 hours later, a miniature Christmas tree in their hands. "You'll never believe what happened!" Suho said excitedly. "In the middle of our shopping, the manager got a call and then he-" "Left?" Kris asked with a smirk. Suho nodded. "How did you know?" He asked, his voice surprised. Kris gestured for Kai to explain and the boy did so happily. Luhan watched as Xiumin's confused expression was replaced with a beautiful smile. He walked over to the older boy and hugged him from the back. "That means we'll finally have some alone time." Luhan whispered into the older boy's ear. Xiumin grinned shyly at Luhan, before pulling his head down for a brief and chaste kiss.

"How many times do we have to talk about this PDA thing?" Lay asked from the couch but the relief on his face was undisguisable. Luhan childishly poked his tongue out in reponse. "You're just jealous." He mocked. Lay shook his head. "It's fine, I have Tao, right Zitao?" Lay asked as Tao walked past. "Huh?" The boy asked cluelessly. "You wanna go on a date?" Lay asked, leaning back with a smirk on his face. Tao's eyes widened in shock. "Yixing-ge, why are you doing this to me?" He asked, his voice filed with despair. "You know I'm not gay!" Tao protested.

Everyone burst into laughter as Tao flushed and walked back to his room, saying something about the hyungs being more immature than the maknaes.

~

The party was amazing, Kris and Tao had done a duet in Mandarin, a silly nursery song about dolls, and Kris had looked hilarious trying to act cool whilst talking about loving a doll. Suho had done an awkward tap dance (after getting drunk) and had been applauded for his effort. D.O. had also gotten drunk, surprisingly, and had done a (failed) y dance. Kai had never blushed harder in his life. They had eaten until they were completely full, complimenting the three boys who had cooked the food. Sehun had drunk (a record amount) 5 bubble teas in the 4 hour party and then spent most of the party in the bathroom, peeing. Baekhyun and Chanyeol had done a Girls Generation duet, once again, and had managed to look even more ridiculous. Their attempt at the y dance was cringe worthy. Lay had fallen asleep halfway through the party and Chen had used that time to draw on the boy's face with (washable) black marker. Xiumin had laughed until he had begun to cry, clutching Luhan as he fell to the floor in laughter. Luhan had laughed as well, how could he avoid such a contagious laugh?

They had been more solemn, later on, when they exchanged Christmas gifts, wishing each other happiness kindly and thoughtfully, in many ways. Luhan was about to open his present from Xiumin but was stopped by the boy, who shook his head, insisting that he open it later. Luhan had agreed reluctantly. "I didn't really get you anything super cool or awesome, though." He told Xiumin nervously as the boy picked up Luhan's present for him. Xiumin smiled reassuringly as he began to unwrap it. "It's fine. I'm sure I'll love it." Xiumin said happily as his nimble fingers tore at the present to reveal the cardboard box.

Luhan watched nervously as Xiumin picked up the two mugs. One side read 'Luhan's' and the other 'Minseok's' Their was a simple heart on the otherwise white mugs. Xiumin smiled at Luhan. "You're so cheesy." He said. "I'm supposed to use the 'Luhan's' cup right?" Luhan nodded. "Isn't that obvious?" He teased, still a bit nervous. Xiumin laughed. The boy reached into the box again and picked up a beanie. He raised an eyebrow at Luhan. "Look at the inside." Luhan offered helpfully. Xiumin turned the beanie inside out and began to giggle. It said 'Xiuhan is real. Shhhh!' Luhan grinned back. "I couldn't resist." He admitted. Xiumin laughed once again, reaching back into the box to pick up the last item. It was a simple picture frame with their first selca together. On the photo, Luhan had scrawled messily 'Forever' Xiumin smiled softly at the picture. He turned to Luhan and Luhan bit his lip nervously. Was it not enough? Did Xiumin not like it?

His fear disappeared however, as Xiumin leaned in and kissed him on the lips softly. "Thank you. I love them." Xiumin said sincerely, a genuine smile on his face. Luhan let out a breath in relief. "I'm glad you do."

~

It was later, everyone had gone to bed. Luhan was laying in his bed, waiting for Lay to come so that they could play a video game or something; Luhan wasn't very sleepy. As the door opened, Luhan lifted his head and was surprised to see Xiumin come into the room. The boy had his present for Luhan in his hands and a nervous smile on his face. "Hey, Luhan." Xiumin said softly. "Minseok! Does this mean I can finally open my present?" Luhan asked excitedly. Xiumin nodded. "I uh, switched rooms with Lay for tonight." the boy mentioned. Luhan cocked his head. "Why?" He asked, confused. "You'll see." Xiumin breathed out. Luhan just shrugged as Xiumin sat down next to him. "Here." Xiumin said, holding out the present. Luhan grinned excitedly. "Yes!" He said and excitedly ripped the wrapping paper. The cardboard box that was under the flashy red wrapping paper was opened quickly. Luhan reached into the box and pulled out-

Oh.

His cheeks flushed as he stared at the container. He turned to Xiumin who was glancing at him nervously. "You.." Luhan trailed off as he looked back at the container. "Are you.. are you sure?" Luhan asked. Xiumin nodded. "I want to. With you. But, uh, if you don't want to, then it's fine!" Xiumin added quickly at the end. Luhan shook his head. "Of course I want to! Is that even a question? Do you know how long I've wanted-" He cut off mid-ramble. Stupid Luhan.

Xiumin smiled softly but his eyes were slightly playful now. "Then shouldn't we?" Xiumin raised an eyebrow. That was all it took before Luhan smashed his lips against Xiumin.

The year 2013, for Christmas, Xiumin got Luhan a container of Lube.

~

It was afterwards, when they both lay, exhausted next to each other. "Wow." Luhan whispered. Xiumin hmmed in agreement. "You're so perfect." Luhan breathed out. Xiumin glanced up at him, unbelieving before his eyes caught something. "You're wearing it?" Xiumin asked softly, the locket that Xiumin had gotten him on their 6 month anniversary. "I didn't even notice." Xiumin added.

Luhan smiled. "I've been wearing it everyday since you gave it to me, and you just noticed?" He asked, his tone a bit teasing. Xiumin blushed, a bit embarrassed. "Ya. You're making me sound dumb!" Xiumin said. Luhan laughed. "You are!" He poked the boy's nose. Xiumin grinned in reply. "I love you." He said suddenly, kissing Luhan passionately. Luhan couldn't help but grin back. "I love you too."

Chapter 80: I finally completed your story. (I wanted to finish it way much earlier... >_>) And I really have to say that your story was incredible. The whole story seemed so realistic and I really liked they way you took your time with establishing the relationship between Xiumin and Luhan. Also all the dialogues, movements or gestures from the characters seemed so real, I felt like actually beeing in EXO's dorm viewing a movie while standing on the set myself and seeing everything from such a closeness, because the way you wrote I could really imagine every scene so well and it was such a pleasure to read your story, because you used a wide range of vocabulary and used good terms.
Luhan was so sweet in this story, I am happy that you didn't make him the bad guy and Xiumin and him somehow managed to move on their own way. They deserved so much better.
Not only had Kris's leave a huge impact on the whole group (btw love it, that you showed every single member at that part.), but also Xiumin's sadness at the end, not beeing able to let out his emotions, not wanting to selfish rubs off on the reader as well.
I don't even know how to express all what I am feeling and how happy I am to have read this story. It was the fluffiest of fluff, as romatic as love poem and yet sad and realistic.
Just like the two of them I won't forget. I will come back and read your story again.
I cannot help but hope for them to find happiness.
