Luhan was trying to cut up vegetables and failing miserably when D.O. burst into the kitchen. He glanced up in surprise and then fear when he saw the evil look on the boy’s face. “It wasn’t me.” Luhan immediately let out. Chanyeol, who was mixing the sauce turned around and after seeing the boy, dropped the spatula he was holding. “I didn’t do anything.” The boy said raising his hands in surrender. “But I apologize anyway!”

D.O. just shook his head incredulously before his eyes turned serious again. “I need you to come with me.” He told Luhan. Luhan just raised his eyebrows. “Ok…wait? You’re not going to beat me, right? It would be pointless; I’m manlier and stronger and-“

“It’s about Minseok hyung.” D.O. interrupted. Luhan turned to look at the boy. “What do you mean? Is he sick!? What happened? I should check.” Luhan rambled on. “No! Physically, he’s fine.” D.O. said, mumbling the last part. Chanyeol leaned forward, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and concern. “If he’s fine physically, then do you mean that mentally…” Chanyeol trailed off. D.O. just shook his head. “You guys are stupid.” He said exasperatedly.

“Minseok hyung was given a hate letter today.” D.O. blurted out. Luhan looked at D.O. in shock. “What?” He let out dumbly. D.O. nodded, ing a piece of paper out at Luhan. Luhan hesitantly took the paper and read through it. Too later he realized he couldn’t. His reading in Korean wasn’t that good; he couldn’t make out most of the words. He handed it to D.O. to read out but Chanyeol grabbed it first. The tall boy’s usually cheerful and friendly expression darkened as he read the letter. When he finished, the boy gulped. “Why? What’s in it?” Luhan pleaded. He still felt a bit in shock over the fact that Minseok had gotten a hate letter. It didn’t make sense. Why would anyone send Minseok a hate letter? There was nothing to hate about the boy!

“I think we should show this to all the members.” He told D.O. D.O. looked uncertain. “But would Minseok hyung want everyone to know?” D.O. asked. Chanyeol just sighed. “It doesn’t matter, at this point. We need to help him.” Chanyeol said softly. D.O. nodded finally. “Okay.” He said.

Luhan watched the exchange silently. What did they mean? What did the letter say? “What does it say?” Luhan asked once again, less friendly now. “Come on. I’ll read it out in front of everyone.” Chanyeol said, pulling at Luhan’s arm. Luhan tried to argue with the boy but something about the grimness of the expressions on both of the boys’ faces made him silent.

Once everyone had gathered around in the living room (Chen just out of his shower), D.O. stood up. “What happened?” Suho asked, confusion evident in his voice and face. D.O. cleared his throat. “When I went to check on Minseok hyung, I found this on the floor.” D.O. said, raising the paper. “Wow. A paper, awesome.” Sehun said sarcastically. “Shut up.” D.O. said angrily. “It’s a hate letter.” Everyone went quiet. “What?” Chen asked. “For Minseok hyung?” Lay asked confusedly. D.O. nodded.

“Why?

 “Who sent it?”

 “What does it say?”

D.O. lifted his hand up. “I’ll read it out.” As he delivered the contents of the letter, Luhan’s mind began to cloud over, like it did just before he flew into a rage. To think that someone had dared to say such ridiculous and cruel things to Minseok. Minseok. Oh my god. How was the boy feeling about this? Luhan knew how Minseok took these things to heart. Oh no. He had to see his Minseok.

Luhan got up from the sofa. “I have to go get him. I have to tell him-“ He was grabbed by D.O. “Sit down, hyung.” The boy said firmly. Luhan shook his head. “You don’t get it. Minseok’s going to be-“ He was cut off by a murderous look from D.O.

He sat down.

Silence filled the room. “When was this from?” Tao asked, breaking the silence. D.O. shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. Probably today, though.” He estimated. “Who would..?” Kai asked rubbing his eyes wearily. D.O. shrugged his shoulders. Suho got up. “It’s happened now. We needn’t care about why or when it happened. What we need to think about is what we will do now.” Suho said. Everyone nodded their agreement. Luhan got up. “I should really go check-“ Luhan was cut off once again by D.O. “He’s sleeping.” The boy said.

Luhan cocked his head, finding that strange. From what he knew about the boy (and that was a lot of stuff he knew), Minseok wouldn’t be able to sleep properly. He would stay up all night, thinking about the ing stupid messages. He would probably think the fan was right as well, Luhan realized and the pit in his stomach grew bigger. “He wouldn’t.” Luhan said quietly. Everyone turned around and looked at him. “What?” Kris asked. “He wouldn’t sleep. I know him. He would never be able to sleep.” Luhan said with a sad confidence. “He’s right.” Tao remarked.

Suho sighed. “What do you propose we do then, Luhan hyung? You know him the best.” Suho said, looking expectantly at Luhan. You know him the best. He did. “Be nice to him, treat him kindly, compliment him, give him treats; just make him feel special.” He said. “So, basically, act like you.” Baekhyun interjected dryly. Luhan flushed. “This isn’t the time.” Chanyeol said seriously, eyes glaring at Baekhyun. Baekhyun stared in surprise at the boy’s response before being replaced by a look of anger. “I was just trying to-“ He began indignantly. Chanyeol sighed, clamping a hand over Baekhyun’s mouth. “Shh. I didn’t mean it rudely. I just think we should listen to Luhan hyung. It’s a serious topic.” He said softly. Baekhyun scoffed. “I know that.” He muttered and to everyone’s shock, fell silent.

“Um, okay. Anyway, as you were saying?” Kris asked, and everyone’s eyes turned back to Luhan. “Hyung?” Sehun asked, when Luhan didn’t reply.

Luhan finally looked up, and everyone stiffened at the anger and hurt in his expression. “One more thing; more of a request really.” He took a deep breath. “Let me talk to him. Let me be the one to talk to Minseok about this.”
