Tired
Our StoryThey were back in Korea from Germany and had a week here in Korea before they went to Russia. They were to spend this week training and practicing for the concert. No one had been particularly surprised about the training and had gotten to work without complaint.
It was during one of their trainings. They were practicing the choreography for ‘XOXO’ for the 12th time that day. Most of the members had gotten into what was named the ‘Numb state’. After countless practices, the members would usually become dazed and the moves would happen naturally. The only person who seemed to always be passionate when dancing was Kai, the others would usually lose their enthusiasm after 7 tries.
And they continued, Luhan hurrying to his position quickly and letting his body perform the dance moves that had been committed to his memory, he couldn’t help but sigh, his body and mind weary.

Luhan didn’t mean to yell at Xiumin. He had just been so tired.
He had been laying on the bed, almost asleep when Xiumin came in. “Luhan. Did you make the mess in the kitchen?” Xiumin asked, oblivious to Luhan’s sleepiness. Luhan just turned his body away from the older boy, hoping Xiumin would get the message.
“Luhan. Can you listen to me?” Xiumin asked again. Luhan groaned. “Let me sleep.” He mumbled. Xiumin sighed. “Look, I know you’re tired. Everyone’s tired. But that doesn’t mean that you can just leave such a big mess in the kitchen. D.O.’s exhausted but he is still cooking dinner for everyone. It’s not fair of you to force the boy to clean up after you as well.” Xiumin lectured strictly, patting Luhan’s shoulder patiently in an attempt to wake him up. Luhan sighed. “Okay. I’ll do it next time. Sorry.” He muttered insincerely, just wanting to sleep.
“Luhan. Get up.” Xiumin said, his tone slightly harsher now. Luhan sighed in frustration before sitting up wearily. Xiumin’s disappointed expression made Luhan feel even more tired and frustrated. “Alright. I’ll do it.” He relented, getting out of bed slowly. Xiumin gave him a small smile. “Good boy.” He said before giving Luhan a peck on the mouth. Luhan smiled sleepily before zombie walking to the dorm’s kitchen.
Walking into the kitchen, he groaned at the plates left behind from his pig fest of pizza. He quickly rinsed them, too sleepy to actually care about the hygiene. He finished in 7 minutes and almost ran back to bed before collapsing on the soft white bedsheet. He sighed blissfully intending to sleep for the next 15 hours.
He was of course, interrupted. Xiumin opened the door and stalked to Luhan. “Luhan. Get up.” He heard as he dreamed pleasantly about steamed buns. “Hmmm.” Luhan replied as he dreamed. “Luhan! Get up! Is that how you wash the dishes? They’re all grimy.” He heard Xiumin say angrily. Luhan opened his eyes to see Xiumin. The boy looked like he wanted to yell but was barely holding it in.
“It’s not a big deal.” Luhan replied, playfully patting the boy, still half-asleep. Xiumin’s eyes widened in anger. “Stop it Luhan. It’s not funny. Come on, you’re doing them again.” Xiumin ordered, pulling Luhan out of bed. Luhan was shocked by the boy’s strength and let him drag him out of the room and to the kitchen.
D.O. was cutting vegetables whilst yawning. He smiled at Luhan. “Hyung, please do it quickly.” The boy said softly before resuming cutting the carrots. Chanyeol was at the stove, already cooking the meat. “We began without him. We were too tired to wait.” Chanyeol explained, his voice still bright, although less excited than usual. Xiumin looked at Luhan expectantly, gesturing towards the dishes. Luhan sighed in defeat and went to the rack of dishes which had once again been laid out. Luhan washed them properly this time, under Xiumin’s watchful eye and tried to resist the urge to yell at the older boy when he pointed out a spot that Luhan had missed.
The fifth time Xiumin pointed it out, Luhan lost it. He smacked the plate that Xiumin had just criticized onto the sink, breaking it whilst simultaneously cutting his hand. “Could you stop being so naggy!? You’re so annoying when you act like this; ‘you missed a spot’ ‘can’t you clean it better’, Stop it, you OCD freak!” Luhan insulted mercilessly, his tone filled with anger and frustration. Silence engulfed the room and Luhan immediately regretted his words. Chanyeol had stopped frying the meat, his eyes flickering between Xiumin and Luhan frantically. D.O.’s eyes were imitating an owl as he stared in shock.
Luhan gulped nervously. “I’m sorry, Minseok. You know I didn’t mean that.” Luhan said softly. “I’m just really tired.” He looked down on the floor, not really wanting to look at Xiumin’s (probably) hurt expression.
He was broken from his thoughts when he felt cold hands grasp his hands. “You idiot. Look what you did to your hands.” Xiumin spoke softly. Luhan glanced up at the boy in shock. “Huh?” He asked dumbly. Xiumin smiled up at him before returning his attention to the cut on Luhan’s hands. “Come on. Let’s get you cleaned up.” Xiumin insisted, as he softly pulled Luhan’s arm towards the door. Luhan followed him. “You’re not angry?” Luhan asked hesitantly. Xiumin stopped and turned around. “You were angry and frustrated. I know you didn’t mean it so I can’t possibly be upset. Unless you did mean that?” Xiumin asked pointedly. Luhan shook his head immediately. “Of course not!” He insisted. Xiumin gave a small smile. “Okay then, no problems.” Xiumin said cheerfully. “Chanyeol, clean up the mess huh?”
Chanyeol smiled. “Got it, hyung.” He saluted happily. D.O. gave a small smile at the couple before attacking the onions again.
As the two boys left, Chanyeol turned to D.O.
“They’re really cute together.” He said brightly. D.O. nodded thoughtfully. “They know each other’s-CHANYEOL! THE MEAT! IT’S BURNING YOU IDIOT!”
A thud was heard as well as smack.
