Chapter 30

Joohyun marched to her grandparents room after breakfast. She was in between feeling awe and mad on whats happening around her. Her family seems to love the presence of Yonghwa. She looked at her kids who were animatedly conversing with Yonghwa about some rock artist they both happened to love. Her grandparents laughed along the exchanges, her mom also joining in with the conversation. Yonghwa had Ysa on his lap while feeding her. It was like they have done this every morning. She can go to sleep right now and wake up in Amityville and feign normalcy at this rate! The hell????

“Grandpa what’s the deal?” she tilted her head without a hint of amusement on her face while she stood at the door with arms cross.

“See I told you she’s serious, she barely calls you grandpa” Nana chided at Buddy with a knowing look

Her grandfather chuckled

“Joohyun, Me and Nana are old, as much as we don’t want to interfere with your lives, we just have to.  I know Yonghwa is a good man who made some not so wise decisions but came through, he is not attached to anyone and he is the father of your child. I am not saying that you should get back with him, I just want him to spend some time with Ysabelle. You being selfish with Yonghwa is none of our business, but you being selfish with Ysa is something we can not tolerate. Besides it’s only for a few days then we can all go back to how things were”

Joohyun was silent as she left the room she thought to herself

“that’s where you’re wrong gramps, after yesterday, things will not go back to how they used to be”

She walked to the hall leading to her room when she caught Yonghwas eyes staring at her from the sofa. She looked at him mindlessly and went to her room

“So mother I’m not prying, how’s the heart?” Ia spoke while lying on her side one hand supporting her head. Joohyun jumped in surprised

“Holy!!... you scared the bejeezles out of me! Don’t do that! What did you say?”

Ia giggled “touché touché now your jumpy I just asked you how’s your heart?”

“and what do you mean by that?” she answered her daughter while she sat at the side of the bed

“He’s here; you’ll be with him 24/7 for the next few days” Ia smiling wiggling her eyebrows

“Do your aunts know about this? Coz I have a feeling they deliberately bribed you into asking me”

“I’m hurt that you would think of me that way mother!” jokingly feigning a hurt feeling putting one hand on her chest

“I don’t know okay, I haven’t really thought about it”

“but do you still like him? Love him?”

“Wow! Now my daughter is interrogating me?”

“I’m not I just wanted to know how you are with all these, because if you ask us, we are okay, we like him as a person, he’s funny and good natured but the important question is do you still love him?”

“Now that’s a tough question” She pondered while she started moving around filling their luggage with their things

“No it’s not, it’s answerable by yes or no”

“I don’t know honey” she answered tiredly then lied beside Ia again. Ia snuggled close to her mother, putting her arms around Joohyuns waist and her legs over both of her mothers’ legs. She looked like a koala holding on to its mother. A 17 year old koala.

Knock! Knock!

“Come in” the two shouted without moving. They didn’t even bother to see who it was both still thinking

“I’m sorry are you two talking? I’ll just come back later” their head both jerk to the person standing by the door

“Hey uncle! I was just craving for moms attention I’ll lend her to you for now” She smiled and stood up from the bed “give her back ok” she picked up Ysas’ toy from the floor “but if you really want her all you need to do is ask” She winked at Yonghwa “I’ll leave you two alone I have to finish packing,,and mom I need your answer by the end of the day” and closed the door behind her

“Aren’t you too busy to be slacking off for the next few days?” she stood up from the bed and continued packing

“Nope I have Jonghyun, Junghsin and Minhyuk to do the work for me”

“Wow so now you’re the boss of them?”

“No we are business partners” he answered irritably “Are you really keen on starting a fight now everytime we’ll talk?”

“tsk tsk tsk.. you’re too sensitive, I was just asking.. Oh yeah you are EMOTIONAL after all”

“I didn’t come here to fight okay, your grand father asked me if I want to tag along and so I did, I needed a vacation and what better way to spend it than with my family?”

“My Family? We are not your family”

“Uh may I remind you that Ysabelle is my daughter and Ia and Maki are Ysa’s siblings so technically they become my kids, Buddy and Nana are my kids’ great grandparents so technically they are my grandparents, also, your mom are my kids grandmother so that makes her my mother isn’t that family?”

“Whatever!”

The Jeju trip was fun except for some awkward moments she had with him. She literally is avoiding him but for some reason since the kids wants to hang out with him she had to tag along too. Once while they were looking for souvenirs to buy

“Oh Jung Yonghwassi, are these your nieces and nephew? What a bunch of good looking kids!” a woman from the store asked

“Aniyo, these are my kids, that girl is my eldest” he pointed at Ia who were looking at some shells. He then looked for Maki who whas checking out the shirts “that over there is my son and this little one is my youngest” he said proudly as he carried Ysa

“Aigoo! Jung Yonghwassi, I didn’t know you’re a joker”

“Oh I’m not joking ajumma, it is true”

“Omo! Sincha?!”

“Ne and this” as he saw Seohyun approaching him ready to check out some items “is my wife”
