Haeri's P.O.V

After a couple of minutes spent byside Luhan, I excused myself with a reason that I wanted to meet a friend eventhough the ‘friend’ was actually a nonexist. I just wanted a time for myself, to actually digest what’s really happening. Luhan even muttered a sorry, feeling bad for keeping me from my friend. He was still the good man that every girl dreamed of. And good for me, I met him now. I finally met him after 10 years of agony by living far-far away from him.

“Hey, girl.”

I then spun, actually caught those smirk from the girl. It’s none other than Soojung. I mentally sighed. What a wonderful time to meet the real fox. I mentally sighed. I deeply regretted that I have to met her by now. Maybe I should have walked faster, shouldn't I?

“I actually noticed you’ve got yourself a few stare from the male. It’s good.”

“So what? You felt like I was stealing the spotlight from you?” I spat back,crossing my hand infront of my chest. Never expect something good coming out of me whenever I was with Soojung. It’s a natural habit to be a badass and having a sharp tounge whenever I was around her.

“Nah, I love sharing spotlights to the people who deserve them. At least you should be happy that I think you deserve some space inside of it.” Soojung smug smile was something I got in return.

“What a joy.” I sarcastically replied, hands crossed and foot tapping impatiently. I was clearly putting up a boardsign for her to leave me alone. But, she would never, ever get it. She would never give me my space.

“Actually, I noticed that you were being quite familiar with the guy.” She said, pointing at some angle with her jaw. I looked straight into her direction, spotting Luhan who was silently taking a sip on his drink. I could feel my throat immediately turned dry. Soojung noticed that? She saw us talking before?

“No.” I quickly answered. Shoot, too fast! Soojung lightly faked a chuckle that made her look like the innocent goddess she wasn’t. I mentally hit myself. That was not good. Definitely not good.

“You think you can lie to me? I know you for so long to know that something is going on between you, and that guy.” She said snootily, acting like she knew me and all. That was when it snapped my patience, ready to burst into flames of anger.

“Nothing happened and stop acting like you know me. We weren’t, we aren’t and we will never, be close.” I strongly solidify the last part before walking further from her. Truth to be told, against all odds, I never actually loathed he.r I just despised the way that she was a goody-two-shoes kind of girl. That was enough to make me always throw harsh remarks at her. Since I knew her for a quite time already, she wasn't like that when we were much younger. Somewhat made her change into this artificial pice of snob, and I would really like to know who's behind all of this.

“I know you more than everyone knows you. Just wait.” Soojung whispered to herself, giving me a secretive smirk before leaving the scene.

After the encounter with Soojung, I walked towards the bride and groom, wanting to congratulate both of them. Eventhough I may not familiar or even knew them, it must be impolite not to congratulate the main roles on the party.

But just when I was steps away, I felt a faint tap on my shoulder. I turned my back, then greeted by a quite familiar face. Well, i actually knew this guy. He was one of Chanyeol’s buddies. What was his name again? I tried hard not to show my lackness in remembering names before he noticed and feel offensed.

“Hey.It’s Haeri, right?” He smiled charmingly, clearly showing his charming crescent eyes. I nodded, giving him the same amount of smile. “It’s Sehun.”

Thank God he finally said it, I sighed of relief inside my mind. I really didn’t want to appear rude at someone I just met, especially when he was nice and welcoming. That was just another cue for me to sharpen my own memory. “I just see you here and want to say hello. I never thought I would see you here. I have never seen you in this kind of party before. ”

“Yeah, it’s not really my type.” I chuckled as I caught the bride and groom not really far from where we were standing. “I was just going to congrats the bride groom. Want to join?”

“I think I’ll pass. I don’t really know them.” Sehun sent me an apologetic smile and I quickly dismissed it. I then walked closer to the couple. I was imagining the two would be a blooming romantic inseperable kind of couple, but they actually a little bit.. flat? They were not seemed like they were happy at all. I even caught the groom was checking another girl’s , right in front of the appointed bride. What was that? Was I seeing things?

“Congratulations both of you. May you live happy to the fullest, and--“

“Ugh, just stop. I grew tired of hearing that already.” The bride hissed and that clearly turned the smile into a frown to my lips. What now? Was I really hearing things or the bride actually said that rude thing?
