Haeri rested her glass on the table, massaging her temples slowly due to the sudden headache for using the computer too much, but what could she do? It was the effect of her past desicion, which she decided to abandon the joint of the steel company, or her own marriage—in another word, Kai.

Why? It was not an easy question for her to answer. All that she could say that it was no easy task. She was so used to be around Kai, devouring his endless love on her and in a circumstance where she could give her love to him also. Where she could do a million things wrong and Kai would still say that he support her, that he still love her.

He saw the good in her, like nobody else.

But still, she left him. She didn’t even know how she could go through the past year without him. It was a near death experience, when she woke up and no strong arms around her waist, no soft kisses on her lips telling her that it was already morning.

Stop.

This miserable feeling has to stop!

Since their seperation, Haeri walked out of Kai’s life and decided to pursue her own, eventhough she had to let go of her life long dream of being an architect and applied for a business school outside the country, where she thought she can start anew. She had sent Kai her file of divorce, but until then she never get the continue of it. Days passed and by then, she hoped it will never go anywhere else.

Alongside her study on business school, she had her deceased father’s share of the empire and decided to ruled it herself. She would never let her fathers hardwork, sweat, blood and tears to be ruled by those evil old hags.

Her wandering mind was interrupted by the knock on her office door. Her secretary walked in, offered couples of file that need to be sorted and signed about the agreement with a client.

“Thank you.” Haeri smiled and stood up, ready to head back to her flat in the heart of the city. It was a fifteen minute walk where she could really use as a time to rest, since the rest of the night was dedicated to do the task given by her lecturer which would be collected the day after tomorrow.

Along the way home, she went to the supermarket to buy some of green tea bag, coffee sachets and some light snack since she would not be sleeping properly that night.

Walking inside the bright room, she noticed a man was piggybacking woman outside the window. The man quickly ran to the darkness, which left Haeri speechless, as a memory passed through her head.

A year and five months ago...

It was a cold autumn and a wedding reception was held on the building which was placed in the center of the city. The newlyweds were their newest client’s son, and of course Kai and Haeri were not allowed to miss it. Even when Haeri was feeling a little bit under the weather, she concealed the pale face under a pack of lively blush and thin makeup.

“Are you okay? It looks like something was wrong with you, dear.” Kai stood up from his seat, walking closer to his lovely wife who were in an elegant dark purple dress, synced with the Armani suit he was wearing. He smoothly hugged her petite waist, giving a trail of kisses on her neck.

“I am okay.” She turned around, afraid that Kai would finally find out the cold on her skin. “Let’s go, or we will be late.”

The night was wonderful, the least she could say. At least she got to see the real love sparkling on the eyes of the newlyweds, unlike the recent wedding she had been up to. It was a real love, the one she found on Kai. But still, she was feeling unhealthy, so she waste her time resting when she got the chance
