The afternoon, sun was so impasionned to deplete human race in flood of sweats. Once we were standing on the outside of school building, I quickly took the furthest side from him. Well, much fortune on my side, not much of gossiper and bystanders applied photography class to eye my odd behavior towards Luhan.

I realized that I should not still feel this kind of emotion towards Luhan, counting that of course I have been in relationships before. But none of them could alter me into this pile of flutter. None of their touch would effect me as much as his no matter how long the period I was with them. None of them could make me thrilled as much as him. Not a single one of them could make me insomnia like when I was thinking about him. None of them worthed to be the one to stole my first kiss, but whenever I saw Luhan, I just wanted to capture his lips to mine. Having him as my first kiss was one thing that feel right to my ear. No reason could explain this strange sentiment beside love. As wrong as that might sound, I was irretrievably, undeniably in love with Luhan.

“Good afternoon, guys. Short introduction. Name, Luhan. Age, 20. I am a substitute for my friends, Lay whom is your mentor. Reason, he’s going back to China for time being.” Luhan’s charismatic eyes and gesture was clearly captivating the whole audience. Not excluding me. “So, for around one month or two, I am your mentor. Photography is held once a week, so I really hope that with the short frequency, you guys are serious. No one’s forcing you to take photography, so quit it while you can.”

“So, class start. Who is bringing camera?”

The whole class uprose their hand with certainty, all except me. Now all I wanted was to go back to this morning to pick my DSLR instead of this old analog camera. What was I really thinking, actually?

Luhan definitely caught my hesitation that he faintly smiled. I could feel the heat rushing to my cheek. I was certain my face would be crimson red already.

“We’ll start.”

Luhan took his own, AF-S lensed Nikon camera for professional, before shortly explained it’s feature and wonders. He then took one of the participant’s more common camera and do his wonders with it, explaining the how-to-dos and feature. Everyone could see how dedicated he was with cameras, how deep he understood and how skilled he was with it. He knew camera like the back of his head. His eyes were glistening in joy by teaching his interest to the audience. He enjoyed the question the students were asking, and he was proud whenever someone succeed in capturing what he explained before. He was indeed a good teacher to everyone’s eye.

But one of the main problem, was that I couldn’t do what they were doing. Simply because I was holding an old piece of analog camera, which usage was not even close. While the other students were busy capturing mother nature, all that I could do was to slap myself for the stupidity I possesed.

“Hey, don’t be too hard on yourself.”

My wrist was caught by the said man, and I could feel the flutter his skin sent to all over my body. I was flabbergasted when he took the old camera, setting the complicated controls  before pointing it to my idiotic face, and click! He succesfully captured it to the roll film, creating a buzz sound. I immediately took over my conscience as I huffed an annoyed breath. “Hey! Not cool. I wasn’t ready.” I pouted. Analog was an old kind of camera which haven’t had the feature of reviewing the taken shots. As the prohibition of contacting the rolls directly to sunlight, I abided the curiosity and tried to get back my dignity.

He ran his slender fingers to every inch of the camera. Was it wrong for me to be jealous of the lucky object?  

“It’s somehow feel nostalgic to hold this camera.” He smiled, but his face was distant. It looked like he was talking from the memories he possesed before, and I did know for sure what was replaying on his memory. “It’s rare to find this 35 mm lensed camera now.”

I couraged my self to ask him a question, which answer was already written inside of my memory. “You ever had one of this before?”

“Yup. But long time ago, actually. I lost it when I was about to move to Korea.” The distant smile now turned into a thin grin. It seemed like he had let the matter disappear. “Since I am pretty sure you won’t bring it in next meeting, I will just explain you some crucial features, how to take good shot and some tips, okay?” He then stood in the perfect angel for me to see the camera - and admire his everything. “This is the shutter speed dial, to control the time the film exposed to lights. This, is apeture ring, to control the lights into the lenses. This, is ISO dial. This is to..”

By the way he was explaining, I should have get it by now. I really should. But when his face was only inches from mine, how strands of his bangs sometimes fell in front of his eyes and how cool he was when he unknowingly swept it back,  how his hot breath somehow tickled the tip of my nose, I could hear none of the thing he explained. All fulfilling my mind were how close our proximity was, how perfect and full his moving lips was, and how arousing now that my mind rewinded it in slow-motion.

“Hey. Are you now even listening?” Luhan’s eyebrows were pursed at my ogling face, and that immediately took me back to reality.

“Yes! Yes, I am sorry. I was distracted.” I nervously stated, using the back of my hand to wipe the sweat trickling on the side of my face. Luhan was still in doubt, but he quickly shrugged it and handed me my camera back. “Now, shoot something into your roll films. Just remember what I said just now, and you’ll be fine.”

I - somehow trembling - took the camera, trying to form the lesson he just explained in my mind. But of course, I was trapped in the dark. Adding the fact that Luhan’s scrutinizing eyes won’t leave my hands and every single movement I made, my head was literally vacant. I was in a deep trouble. JUST DO SOMETHING! I mentally shouted and forced my hand to place the camera in front of my eyes.

“Hey, you forget to adjust the aperture ring.” He reminded, as his delicate fingers lingered aroung my hands which were encircling the appointed feature. As expected, my body immediately reacting as I felt electricity all over my vein.

“Here. Put your fingers here,” He secured my forefinger on the button. Every touch of him succesfully turned me weaker and weaker. “Don’t be shaky. Calm down.” He reassured, thinking that the trembling was caused by the nerve of having to shot the selected object. Oh, how wrong he was.

“If the object and setting are fine, then click the button. Don’t let go to soon.”

I tried to set aside the flutter and nerve inside of me and just do what he said. So I did just it. But with an instict that I was about to let go before the supposed length of pressing the button,  he unexpectedly pressed his forefingers against mind, his large hand cupping mine. I could faintly hear the buzzing sounds with the booming sound of my leaping heartbeat. “You need to take it slow.”

After the sound came to an end, I set the camera on my laps and smiled. “I did it!” I chortled in complete satisfication. But dissimilar from what Luhan thinking what I was thinking, I was more pleased on the fact that I have made it through with him close. It wasn’t an easy ride that this maybe the hardest task life has ever given me. But of course, not a little bit of regret came across my mind, because the ride was so damn addicting.

“You did it.” He sincerely smiled. His crescent eyes was more than enough to turn my knees into jelly. I was madly in love with this amazing Luhan in front of me, who now was ruffling my hair in pride. The moment I shared with him was so overwhelming, that somehow those cursed three words was lost in the air.

“I love you.”
