Jae’s POV

I admit it, the past few days have not been my best.

So when I picked up my phone to call Mom, it began ringing. Someone called me right before I dialed.

It said it was from Mom. Coincidence.

“Hey, mom.” I began, shifting my position.

“Jae.” I started when I heard her. She sounded heartbroken and depressed.

“Mom, what’s wrong?”

“It’s-“ I heard a muffled sob, my eyes widening.

“Mom, mom! Are you OK? What’s wrong?” I tried to remain calm.

“It’s your father.” She said in a soft, squeaky tone.

“What about Dad?”

“Daehyun…” That’s not good. Using my dad’s name with me. I swallowed. “Daehyun died in car crash.”
