Chapter 5 - Getting to know L
Straight from the Source, Kim Jongin“Jaein! JAEIN! LEE JAEIN!”
You groaned and cupped your hands over your ears at the shrieks that were coming from Sunggyu’s mouth. Hoya gave you a sympathetic look and continued on with his work on the computer while the other boys narrowed their eyes on you as if they were saying, “reply to the man if you don’t want to be killed.” It was the fifth time just in the past two hours that Sunggyu had called your name. You would think he would call you to start setting up the cameras or start explaining your position, but as soon as you stepped into his presence he would ask you to do pointless errands on end. Sighing, you picked yourself up from the chair and stepped into Sunggyu’s office where he sat at his desk looking quite annoyed.
“There you are Jaein!” he exclaimed as he wrote something down in his notebook, “I’ve been looking for you for quite a while.”
“Well you found me,” you replied with a hint of sarcasm in your voice. He smiled heartily and turned his chair to a pad of sticky notes as he scribbled something down on a piece and ripped it off.
“Here you go,” he handed you the sticky note and went straight back to writing in his notebook.
You stared at the small note which read, “tall cappuccino, half cream, half sugar, 2% milk filled to two thirds of the way, lid off.” What in the world is this?! You thought to yourself and stared back at your boss. “What am I supposed to do with this?” you demanded, but your voice immediately shrunk when Sunggyu lifted his eyes off of the notebook.
He sighed in annoyance, “It’s coffee Jaein. You know, the black stuff that you dri-“
“I know what coffee is!” you snapped back at him in disbelief.
“Well then go get it!” Sunggyu waved his hands in a shoeing motion as you left his office with the sticky note stuck to the palm of your hand. This is unbelievable…I’m an intern, not a secretary! He can go get his own stupid coffee, you cursed to yourself and ripped the sticky note off of your palm to tear it into tiny pieces when a hand stopped you from doing so. You looked up and saw that Sungjong was holding you hand with the note in between his and your hand.
He shook his head, “you better do what hyung says…he likes to hold grudges.”
“That’s it! I give up Sungjong, and it’s only the second day,” you collapsed on top of one of the chairs in defeat. Sungjong rushed up to your body and shook it hard, his eyes wide and full of fear,
“No Jay you can’t! You promised, remember?” He kept shaking you until you pushed his hands off of your body and got up. As much as you hated your boss right now, you had to admit that you promised Sungjong only yesterday that you wouldn’t quit. Plus, how selfish would it be for you to give up your dreams all because of your ignorant boss?
“Fine…I’ll go get that stupid coffee,” you muttered, making Sungjong clap his hands together happily.
“You probably don’t know where the closest coffee shop is so…” he looked around the room before his eyes locked on someone, “you can go with L hyung!” At the sound of his name, L turned his head towards the two of you with an unreadable expression. You almost tried to tell Sungjong that it was okay and that you would find the coffee shop yourself, but you knew that Sungjong would never let you go alone. He waved his hand, asking L to come over to yo
