You quickly slapped your hand over your mouth after realizing that you had just called your boss by his first name. “I-I mean boss!” you corrected yourself, “What are you doing here?”

Sunggyu glared at you with his beady eyes and cleared his throat, “I’m your date.” Your eyes widened even more in horror after he had spoken those words. It was just now that you realized his attire, a black tux with a white bow and his hair was gelled messily to the side. My boss. MY BOSS. Mrs. Kim set me up with my own boss?! Your mind was on the verge of explosion when Sunggyu shoved a corsage into your face,

“From yours truly,” he spoke somberly and with no expression. Now that you thought about it, Sunggyu didn’t look to thrilled to be your date either. His facial expressions were hard as stone and he almost looked…bored. Hot date my …you cursed mentally and gave him a fake smile before taking the corsage and walking to his car.

There were no words exchanged during the car ride except the occasional, “I’m cold, turn off the air conditioning.” You still couldn’t wrap your head around the fact that Mrs. Kim had set you up with the boss of your company for this ball. What did I do to deserve this God…WHY?!

“Hey boss,” you spoke up suddenly, breaking into the silence, “do you like what I did to my hair?” You asked hopefully, trying to at least pull a comment out of Sunggyu for the first time ever.

He took a second and glanced to his side, before putting his eyes back on the road. “It’s red.”

You scoffed at his general statement and face palmed before speaking again, “Yes, it is boss…What do you think about it?”

Sunggyu didn’t even bother looking at you when he spoke, “I hate the colour red. It reminds me of my dead cat.”

“We’re here,” he announced, halting the car in front of the enormous hotel entrance. You didn’t even hesitate to jump out of his car, not wanting to wait for  Sunggyu to help you out. Stay the hell away from me you crazy cat lover, you thought and rushed into the hotel without another word. You gaped at the beautiful scene of the hotel lobby filled with sparkly decors that led to the ball room. You walked straight into the ball room and gave yourself an even bigger shock with the sight of the hotel. The room was decorated from top to bottom with accents of silver and gold, and every part of the room radiated elegance with the cream coloured walls and dome shaped roof. Your eyes roamed along the room and you couldn’t believe the amount of people that were already dancing, only VIPS huh…

“What the hell Jay, I was looking everywhere for you!” you heard Sunggyu panting from behind you, indicating that he was running.

“Oops, sorry boss, I guess I was a little excited,” you faked a smile and laughed nervously. Before he could respond, you heard familiar voices call out to you from the side  of the room,

“Jay! Jay!” You turned your head and saw that the entire INB team were standing there, calling your name.

You gasped and ran over to them, giving each of them a hug, “What are you guys doing here?”

Ailee giggled, “Mrs. Kim invited us of course! I never thought I would be invited to these kind of things…but thanks to you I am!” She playfully punched your side and gave you another hug.

“Wow Jay, your hair…” Sungyeol touched it softly, “You’re beautiful!”
