"Let's go get him then," Jongup said, walking into the room, Junhong at his side. It looked like the both of them had been crying. Which they had. 

 

Junhong sat in the middle of the kitchen floor, hugging his Appa's leg and Jongup went up to the table and reached up and put his little hands on it. Daehyun just stared at his son, who had suddenly turned into a 35 year old.

 

"W-what?" Daehyun stuttered, looking up at Jongup.

 

Jongup went to his Umma and sat down next to him and lay his head in the older man's lap. Daehyun's hands found themselves in Jongup's soft hair, making Jongup smile his normal happy grin.

 

"Appa told me to look after you," Jongup said, still smiling. "So I will, because it'll make Appa happy." Jongup paused, his smile disappeared and a tear rolled down his cheek. "I'm sorry, Umma. Jonguppie was sad and angry and he knew Umma was too, but he still shouted. I'm sorry, Umma. But, Jonguppie will always be happy as long as he has Umma and Appa, even if they aren't together. Jonguppie will always love Umma, Jonguppie doesn't hate Umma." 

 

Jongup started crying, clinging onto Daehyun's top. Everyone stared at him, Daehyun with love and admiration in his tearful eyes as he hugged him close, Himchan with a look-it's-so-cute-and-fluffy-but-I-really-need-a-coffee-it's-too-early-for-this look in his, and Yongguk feeling nothing but pride. Junhong was just glad that the speech that the two of them had put together had worked and had the desired effect.

 

"I'll always love you too, Guppie," Daehyun replied, touched. "What would I do without my little baby, huh?" Daehyun hugged him close and Jongup started to squirm.

 

"I'm not a baby any more, Umma!" Jongup protested. "I'm a big boy now!" 

 

Daehyun laughed at his son, gently pinching his cheeks. It was music to everybody's ears: it was something none of them, including Daehyun himself, had heard so freely in such a long time. 

 

And now, it was time to get something else back.
