Daehyun opened the door to the doctor's office slowly, not really wanting to go in. He'd been putting off going to his appointment for over three months and was scared about what his hyung would say.

 

"Ah, Daehyun! I thought you would never come!" the deep voice of his doctor said.

 

"Hi hyung,"Daehyun said, sitting down in the chair in front of the desk.

 

Yongguk sighed. He knew Daehyun, and just by looking at him he knew something was off.

 

"You've not been taking your medicine have you?" Yongguk paused and saw Daehyun shake his head guiltily. "Damn it, Daehyun! How do you expect to get better if you don't take it? I'll have to start asking Channie to put it in your food when he visits you know if it's the only way to get you to take them." Yongguk put his head in his hands. "Damn it!"

 

Daehyun hated seeing his hyung like this because of him. "I'm sorry hyung. I just- I-I... I don't know."

 

Yongguk looked at his patient. Daehyun had pulled up his legs and was clinging onto his knees as if his life depended on it. He knew it was worse for the younger, always trying to pretend that everything was fine for Jongup's sake, even though it wasn't. The past 6 years certainly hadn't been easy for the younger, or kind on him. And now with the added medical problems, Yongguk was trying to do everything for the younger.

 

"OK, new idea. Take two weeks off. Relax. Let it all go," Yongguk said writing in Daehyun's file.

 

"But hyung, what about work? I'm in the middle of a case!" Daehyun said, almost shouting.

 

"Let someone else do it. I'm sure there's plenty of lawyers who need to do something. And I won't take 'no' for an answer, and I'm sure Channie won't either. Take the leave. Spend more time with Jongup, take him out, the fresh air will do you good. If he questions it, just say that the boss had given you leave as you had done such a great job on the last case." Yongguk paused. "If you're not going to take the meds at least do this."

 

Daehyun nodded, knowing that he'll have two angry hyungs on his tail if he didn't. He stood up, mumbled a thanks and left the office and hospital, getting on the bus to take him through the town to get to his village without even thinking about doing it. He decided on the way home staring at the fields, that he would tell Himchan that he would be able to pick Jongup up from school. He knew Himchan wouldn't complain, more time to spend with Yongguk, he would say.

 

"It must be nice to have someone to love," he whispered to himself. "And someone to remember."
