The Scars of the Past

The Story of a Broken Dragon

AN: Okay, this is really the last quick update. SO, some of you have noticed that I haven't told you Jiyong's and Seunghyun's ages. Well, at first I simply didn't think about them, but now I actually know that they are important (but not cause they were asked, I've already been thinking bout them when the first person asked.) :D SO, I was thinking that maybe you could try guessing them. A little hint: Jiyong is still very young, and Seunghyun is below 200 xD (years don't count there like here, so Ji could be above 50 and still look and act like 16-17 or younger). And oh, both of them have stopped aging, if it helps xD It probably doesn't though xD Soo, whoever guesses right or very close will either get some spoiler of the next chap. or a bag of invisible virtual cookies xD They are yummy~ xDD Also, I hope that you'll enjoy this chapter ^^Don't expect too much though, I'm a bit sick and moody xD

The next day, a bit before noon Jiyong was standing in front of the dusty mirror in his small bathroom, looking at himself. He hated how he looked. He was too small and skinny, his old clothes that he had left there accidentally when moving away hanging loose on him. He did know that he had lost a lot of weight, but not this much! It was a bit scary, really. Even in his own clothes, he looked strange... Tiny, like a lost child.

His hair was still slightly messy, even though he had tried to style it to perfection after washing it. But at least now it wasn't dirty and it looked quite pretty. He once again looked at the seemingly huge clothes he was wearing. A white T-shirt with a cartoon-figure printed on it and a pair of dark skinny jeans that didn't look 'skinny' on him at all. He sighed, glaring at his reflection. "I looked better back then.."he mumbled, a small pout sitting on his lips. Seven years had passed since he had last looked into this mirror, but he could still remember how excited, happy, but extremely nervous he had been.

Almost like he was now. His heart felt like it was going to jump out of his ribcage whenever he thought about the fact that he was going to see Seunghyun. Seunghyun, who had saved him from something terrifying that could have happened to him...

Jiyong shivered at the mere thought of being found by someone who had ill intentions, just like his 'mate'. He knew that he wouldn't have survived if someone like that had found him... The memories of what happened in the cold, empty room were engraved into his brain and he would probably never forget them. A stray tear slid down his face as the vampire's cold eyes flashed up in his mind.

"Baby, come downstairs already! I'm going to leave without you if you don't!"His mother's cheerful voice had snapped him out of his thoughts. He glanced at himself once again, sighing before slowly making his way to the living room where his mother was waiting for him. The woman eyed her son, smiling at him sadly. She couldn't believe how tiny and sick her poor baby looked in his old clothes. When she saw him before, she thought that only Seunghyun's clothes were so big on him. Or at least she wanted to think that... Deep down, she knew how skinny her little boy had become. And even if she didn't know too much about what had happened to him in the past years, she knew that the loss of weight wasn't the only visible sign of whatever had happened to her baby boy. When one of the sleeves of his T-shirt slipped off her son's shoulder, she noticed a faint, pinkish scar on his shoulder. It wasn't too apparent, but it was still there. And it looked painful. Extremely so.

She couldn't help but regret letting him go so quickly at that time...

But still, both dragons forced a smile on their faces. Jiyong's was a bit more genuine, most possibly because he was going to see Seunghyun. Even if he hated how he looked now, he was overjoyed to meet the demon. His mother hugged him tightly suddenly. He hugged her back tightly, nuzzling his nose into her shoulder.

They just stood there in each others' arm for minutes, or maybe more. But then, the woman pulled away and smiled at her son with tearful eyes. She knew that even if he had been through something so horrifying that she didn't even dare to imagine, he was safe now. And Seunghyun was going to heal him slowly.

"Let's go now, baby. I bet Seunghyun is waiting for us already. I've texted him about half an hour later that we'll be going soon."she said, her voice soft and hoarse. Jiyong nodded and smiled back softly.

"Okay, let's go..."he whispered.

The ride to Seunghyun's house was short. Almost too short. The moment Jiyong sat into the car, his palms started to sweat and his heartbeat picked up. He was nervous, yes, but were happy at the same time. He knew that soon he was going to see the demon, and this made him strangely happy.

"You look like someone on their wedding day."His mother , making the boy blush deeply.

"I don't~"He whined, glaring at his mother from the back seat playfully. He never liked sitting in the front, though he wasn't sure why.

"You do~"The female dragon sang, smiling when he heard Jiyong huff.

"I'm not talking to you!"He mumbled childishly.

"Oh, really?"The woman asked, a soft smirk gracing her lips. She drove past Seunghyun's house on purpose, chuckling when she heard her son gasp.

"MOM! It was his house!" He almost screamed. "Turn back, turn back!"He added, looking truly scared.

The woman didn't say anything, but turned back and stopped in front of the demon's home, smiling as she heard Jiyong unbuckle himself at the speed of light.

Said boy picked up the bag that contained Seunghyun's clothes quickly and practically leapt out of the car.

"Wait for me, sweetie."His mother said, smiling when Jiyong just shut the door. He started tapping with his foot impatiently, grinning when his mother finally got out of the car slowly. The woman was glad that the younger dragon seemed to be happy again. When he went downstairs, he seemed so lost, so sad, yet now that he was going to see his mate again, he looked so energetic and joyful. "Well, true love can do many things..."She thought, smiling when Jiyong ran ahead, wanting to be the one who knocked on the door.

He looked so innocent and pure once again, just like a small child. His eyes were shining so brightly. His mother couldn't help but smile at the sight of his happiness.

Jiyong knocked, his hand shaking as he held the small bag in the other. He could hear the demon fiddle with the lock, and then, the door finally opened. He smiled widely, staring at the man who was smiling back at him tenderly. Somehow, the bag had fallen onto the ground and Jiyong found himself tackling the demon, clinging to him like his life depended on him. And he couldn't have smiled wider when he felt the familiar arms wrap around his waist tightly..

"Hi."The demon said, kissing the top of the young dragon's head. Jiyong said something, but it was slightly muffled by Seunghyun's chest. The demon just shrugged and held his tiny mate tighter, sending a soft, thankful smile to the dragon's mother. She nodded and giggled almost too softly for the others too hear...

Jiyong didn't really care about their silent exchange though, he only cared about the fact that he was there, in Seunghyun's arms... And he was happy...
