Day 59
2013, Year of UsThursday February 28th, 2013
Lu Han’s favourite perk of working as a location scout would have to be paid vacations. Granted, he still had to work, but that would usually only take a day or two in his usual week long trips.
This time, he found himself in Hong Kong. Apparently, some group wanted to shoot a music video here and it was his job to find the best locations while minimizing disruption to the public.
Taking a break from the bustle of downtown Central and wanting to escape from the graffitied alleyways, he traveled to the southern part of Hong Kong Island. As fate would have it, he ran into an old friend.
“Are you sure you’re not stalking me?” Lu Han asked the girl who turned in surprise.
“Lu Han!” she smiled. He had noticed her in the park with a group of her friends laughing the whole time. “What are you doing here?”
As Lu Han rode the escalators up to Soho that evening, he smiled unconsciously to himself while thinking about Yu-ki. It was back. The smile he saw on her face last fall was back.
Three days later, he saw her again. Taking the ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui, snapping photos the entire way, Lu Han saw Yu-ki walking along the strip. He was about to call her name when someone beat him to it. She turned around, and seeing her friends, her face lit up as they ran to catch up to her.
Almost a week later, he saw her once again at a coffee shop. The two had exchanged numbers, but this was the first time either contacted the other.
“Why didn’t you tell me we knew each other?” She asked the moment he sat across from her.
“Because we didn’t.” Lu Han responded without pause. He had anticipated this moment. It was inevitable that she would find out about their previous relationship.
“The framed pictures in my father’s house speak differently.” She shot back.
“Ahh, the Guangzhou skyline at sunset. That’s some of my best work.” Yu-ki didn’t seem to appreciate his joke. “Okay, fine. I did a project for your father once.”
It wasn’t a complete lie, but it wasn’t the truth either. He knew that he had no right holding information about her own life from her and that this would probably come back to bite him in the later, but she needed to realize some things on her own.
when I say relationship I don't mean a couple relationship, but rather the fact that they sorta knew each other. Ummm, yeah this is a pretty importnat chapter. As said before, Lu Han was lying about stuff and it will not turn out well in the end. He has his reasons though.
For internal reference, the first time he sees her in Hong Kong is Chapter 50 and the second time is Chapter 53.
Fun fact: the group Lu Han is location scouting for is Teen Top. It doesn't work timeline wise, but I love the song and video and the Hong Kong scenery. The connections made between the two are, downtown Central (Chunji's scenes), Graffitied alleyways (CAP's scenes), the ferry (Changjo's scene), Soho (L. Joe on the escalators), and the seaside of Niel and Ricky's scenes.
