Day 40
2013, Year of UsSaturday February 9th, 2013
Yu-ki had woken up to a blanket of snow outside. The weather had been getting warmer and the snow had been melting, but last night, a storm had hit and outside now stood over 10cm of snow. Forcing herself out of bed, Yu-ki stumbled into the kitchen to make some coffee. Over the course of the last month, she had found herself growing to like the caffeinated substance and often needed it to survive. Now nursing her cup of coffee, she stumbled into the living room and the news. All over Korea the unexpected snow storm had hit and roads were covered making it impossible to drive.
“It’s a good thing I went grocery shopping yesterday huh?” Minseok sat down beside her with his own cup of coffee. “We need to have a proper new year’s dinner don’t we?” Yu-ki turned to face him curiously.
“You cook Minseok?” she asked. Yu-ki hadn’t had the chance to eat home-cooked meals as she was either out eating with her friends, mainly Jongin, or she cooked for herself.
“Of course.” He scoffed. “Who do you think had been feeding you for the past few months? And we both know it’s not Kris.” Yu-ki smiled.
“Thanks.” She said hesitatingly after a moment of silence. “For everything. I mean you opened up your home to me, and I know you weren’t really expecting an extra person. Having Kris as a roommate is bad enough, I don’t mean to be a burden on you.”
“Nonsense.” Minseok ruffled her hair affectionately. “Sure, you’re a pain sometimes, but then you have your moments. Just like this. You’re like the little sister I never had.”
