Day 19
2013, Year of UsSaturday January 19th, 2013
Just like that another week had passed. Yu-ki looked forward to weekends because it meant she could get away from everything and have time for herself. However, it also meant she was given time to think, and thinking in her current mental state wasn’t the best idea. Today she couldn’t help but think about Tao.
Tao was a transfer student from Qingdao and moved to Vancouver at the age of 7 because his father’s work relocated him there. At first she didn’t pay him any attention, then one day she went home to find that he was there along with the rest of his family. Apparently, they had moved in down the street and seeing as they didn’t know anyone, her mother took it upon herself to make them feel welcome. Since that dinner the two have been inseparable. Well, that is until what ever happened in the summer between ninth and tenth grade. That was the source of Yu-ki’s current restlessness.
After sending her second message a few days ago, she hadn’t gotten anything back. Yu-ki didn’t know why, but she wasn’t really expecting one. So naturally, she asked Kris.
“I don’t know what happened.” He told her. “You guys just stopped talking to each other. I don’t know the details. You never told me, Tao never told me, so I didn’t ask.”
That just made Yu-ki even more confused. If something had happened, she surely would have told her brother. If she didn’t, it meant that Yu-ki, or even Tao for that matter, didn’t think anything happened. She didn’t know what was more terrifying. The fact that she doesn’t know what happened or the fact that nothing might have actually happened.
