Chapter 24
99% Males 1% Females“Hello?”
“Hey, Kris?”
“How are you, Lu Han?”
“Thank you for sending me the diary. It took me a while to read through it, regardless... Thank you for helping me understand how Hua felt.” said Lu Han.
“Of course… How did you finally read it?” asked Kris, curious.
There was a silence. “I started having nightmares about what happened.” replied Lu Han.
“I see.”
“So, I asked a friend to help read it with me.”
“You two read it, together?” asked Kris, surprised.
“Y-Yeah.” stuttered Lu Han.
“Who is this person?” asked Kris, now curious.
“Uncle Chung’s daughter, Mia.” answered Lu Han, without missing a beat.
“That’s really kind of her to do so.” breathed Kris. “I’m glad that it all worked out. I was worried at first on how you were going to actually read it, but I’m relieved.”
“Yeah, there’s finally some closure to that side story of my life.” sigh Lu Han.
“Don’t get into any more trouble now.” teased Kris. “So, tell me a little bit more about Mia.”
“She’s no one important. And, I’m serious about this.” said Lu Han.
“Oh~ Someone’s in denial.” laughed Kris. “She’s obviously someone important if you told her about Hua, you know.”
“I kinda have to because I needed to read that diary ASAP and I couldn’t do it alone.” defended Lu Han.
“That’s not true. You could have came home for the weekend.” said Kris. “It only takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Beijing from Seoul! Or, I could have came to you.”
Lu Han pursed his lips together, making a thin line. Yes, he could have done that. And, yes, he forgot about that option. So, in times of need, Lu Han turned to Mia. He cried in front of her and told her one of his deepest, darkest secrets.
Lu Han let out a defeated sigh. “Damn… That is true.” he said. “Mia… Chung Mia is just an annoying, demanding, and sometimes stubborn midget.”
“Oh, come on~” said Kris. “I’m sure there’s more to her than that.”
“I don’t know… I wouldn’t know how to explain. She’s just Mia.” replied Lu Han. “You would have to meet her for yourself to understand.”
“Uh… OK?” asked Kris, confused. “I-”
“Oh, Kris! Sorry, but I have to go now.” said Lu Han, quickly. “Bye.”
“Bye.” said the young man on the other end.
Lu Han quickly turned off the phone. It was 10:30 PM and Mia had told him that they needed to practice then because she wanted to go to sleep afterwards. He quickly got off his bed and went into the bathroom. It felt warm and humid since Mia had just taken a shower. He knocked on Mia’s door.
“Come in.” she said and Lu Han did so.
Mia was sitting on her bed with her towel wrapped around her hair. Lu Han took the seat next to her on the bed and she handed him the script.
“You should read it first, so then you know what to expect.” suggested Mia.
Lu Han quickly looked over the scene. The character that Kibum plays is clueless to how Mia’s character is feeling. She tries to be seductive, but couldn’t. She becomes frustrated and passionately kisses him.
“That’s it?” asked Lu Han. Mia nodded her head. “It’s do-able.”
“OK. Let’s do it then.” said Mia, as she got out of bed. She tugged off the towel and her hair come tumbling down. Lu Han got out of bed as well and walked over to her.
They were standing face to face with each other. Lu Han had the script in his hand. She sighed heavily and looked up at Lu Han. “I don’t understand why human men are so complicated.” she said.
Lu Han quickly glanced over at the script, realizing that Mia was acting now. He did as the script commanded and laughed a rather stiff and dry laugh. “The human race, in general, is complicated.” he said. “Men aren’t complicated, women are.”
“That’s not true.” said Mia, getting angry. “Human women may seem to be complicated on the outside, but they are very simple creatures. They know what they want and they go for it, at least, most of them do. But, human men…. That’s completely different.”
“That’s not true. Men are simpler than women are.” replied Lu Han. “We have different mind sets; that’s just all.”
Mia let out a long breath and rolled her eyes. “Well, you’re not simple.” she said.
“What do you mean?” asked Lu Han, with a small laugh as directed by script.
“You’re obviously blind.” said Mia. “You’re the one that hasn’t noticed anything.”
“About what?” asked Lu Han, clueless.
Mia looked up at him and crossed her arms across her chest. She raises any eyebrow. “Really?” she asked. “This.”
Mia tiptoed and reached up to Lu Han’s face. She kisses him. Lu Han dropped the script with a loud plop as he placed his hands on her hips, pulling her towards him. He on her lower lips softly, suddenly wanting to take it slow. Mia tried to pull away probably to start the kiss over since they were taking it too slow because of Lu Han. But, he quickly wrapped his arms around her neck, not letting her break the kiss. Her hair was still damp and it smelled fresh. Lu Han liked the mood that they were in, so he didn’t want her to ruin it.
He continued to explore her lips slowly again, as if he was trying to memorize every single nanometer of her lips. He kissed the top lips softly when Mia lightly on his bottom lips. Lu Han let out a soft groan into when she them. She entered his mouth in a gentle, cautious manner and he greeted her eagerly.
Once again, there was a string of salvia that connected their bottom lips. This time around, it was Lu Han that cleaned up the mess. He quickly the salvia off of Mia’s bottom lips, but he gave her another quick kiss before completely stopping.
Mia took a deep breath as she pulled out her Chapstick. After she put it on, she handed it over to Lu Han and took a big gulp of water from her water bottle. Mia turned to him and swallowed hard.
“I think we should stop this kissing thing.” she suggested.
Lu Han cleared his throat. “I think so too.” he nodded, stiffly.
“Don’t tell anyone about this.” said Mia, sharply.
Lu Han sent her a look. “Does it look like I will tell anyone?” he asked.
Mia rolled his eyes. “And, does it look like I will tell anyone about this stupid, embarrassing encounter? No!” she said. “People will think that we’re together!”
“Well, duh! I’m quite aware of-” replied Lu Han.
“Thank you though.” interrupted Mia, adruptly.
Lu Han turned to her. She was blushing and avoided his eyes. “That was really sweet of you to offer your expertise.” added Mia.
Lu Han let out a laugh. “It was my pleasure-WAIT! I mean- You’re welcome!” he stumbled.
Mia laughed, as she gave him a playful push. “I get it, you enjoyed it.” she said.
“No I didn’t!!” said Lu Han. She flashed a questioning look. “O-OK… Maybe I did, but still… We’re friends.”
“Yes! And, we will continue to be friends!” said Mia, sternly.
“We are friends.” repeated Lu Han.
“Yes, we are!” nodded Mia.
“Since you’re parents aren’t home, do you want to waste money and turn on the heater tonight?” asked Lu Han. “There’s no one else besides us, so we can always sleep in the same bed.”
It has been quite cold lately, so the Chung family has been running the heater on all night.
“That’s true.” nodded Mia. “Are we sleeping here or in your room?”
“My room.” replied Lu Han. “We always sleep in here.”
“OK.” yawned Mia. “It’s going to be a long day for me tomorrow.”
Author’s Note:
If you can’t already tell… I really like the kissing lessons that Mia and Lu Han have.
