A Cliché Family One   When the phone rings and the man in the other end asks for Kim Kibum in a serious tone, Taemin hands over the phone quickly. He tries not to eavesdrop because eavesdropping is rude, but hell, if there is one thing Taemin can’t stand it’s the serious tone with which his father speaks to the serious stranger in the phone.

He doesn’t really understand what they’re talking about because Kibum is only answering with 'yes' and 'i understand' so when he finally hangs up Taemin nonchalantly slinks into the kitchen and prays that Kibum will tell him something. Kibum doesn’t say anything useful, though, and Taemin frowns a little when he’s asked to find his father in the backyard.



“Hey dad,” Taemin shouts into the backyard and Jinki looks up from where he’s removing weeds.

“Yes?” he shouts back and Taemin shrugs a little.

“Dad says you should come inside.”

Jinki looks confused but Taemin is just as confused if not more, so he can’t tell Jinki what the problem is. Kibum is sitting on a chair when he enters the kitchen again and he doesn’t exactly look happy. Whatever they talked about on the phone can't be good news.

Jinki settles down next to Kibum with a worried glance and Taemin hurries to the sink so he can get a glass of water. Now he really wants to know what is going on. He hears Kibum sniffle a little and turns off the faucet. There's absolutely quiet in the kitchen until Jinki asks what's wrong.

"It's Minho," Kibum says and Jinki frowns. Taemin raises an eyebrow and puts the glass he has yet to drink off in the sink. The water sloshes quietly but Taemin continues to stand with his back to his fathers.

"What's with Minho?" Jinki asks and Kibum takes a deep breath.

"He got in an accident. The hospital called me."

And with that, the entire kitchen seems to awaken again. Taemin gasps and turns around to look at his father's with wide eyes. Jinki stands from where he's sitting next to Kibum and looks towards Taemin as if he first now realizes he's there.

"We have to go there!" Taemin says, voice sounding more frustrated than he really feels. Kibum looks up as well and blinks. He doesn't seem to have realized Taemin is there either before now. Taemin doesn't really care that he eavesdropped, though, not when the news are this bad.

"Come on," he whines. "What are we waiting for?!"
