A Cliché Family Fifty Minho is frustrated. Studying medicine is hard and also harder than he expected it to be. Not that Minho wasn't aware that medicine wouldn't be an easy field of study when he applied for college but he never thought he would want to drop out. And that is exactly how he feels right now.

He's also the only one awake in the house because he needs to finish this stupid book by tomorrow and he doesn't understand the diseases they're supposed to discuss tomorrow. He doesn't understand how the immune system exactly works and it's all just frustrating. He faceplants in the book and stretches his arms out over the kitchen table. He's not going to cry but he's damn close.

So he decides to treat himself. That seems to be the only thing that might lessen a little bit of his stress right now and he gets up from his chair and saunters over to the freezer. He's lucky he's still living at home because he's pretty sure he wouldn't be able to find ice cream in a freezer if he wasn't. He does find the ice cream and grabs a spoon before he settles down in front of his book again. With a quick glance at the open literature, he pushes the book away to the far end corner and opens the container with the cold treat.

It's a little weird to be eating ice cream in October but there are no parents awake to tell him off so Minho frankly doesn't care. He's one-third through the ice cream when someone enters the kitchen.

The 19-year-old looks up and locks eyes with his 12-year-old brother and sighs a sigh of relief. It's just Taemin. Taemin raises an eyebrow but says nothing. Minho doesn't even question why the boy is awake at 2 am because he doesn't feel like he has a valid reason to be awake either. Taemin goes to grab a spoon in the drawer before he sits down opposite of Minho and pulls the container closer. He takes a bite of the ice cream and Minho frowns a little.

"It's my treat," he says and Taemin just continues to eat the ice cream. Minho reaches over the table and brings the container closer to himself. The container goes from one side of the table to the other without any words the next 5 minutes while the two boys dig in. When Minho finally feels comforted by the ice cream he leaves his spoon in the container and looks at Taemin again. "Couldn't sleep?" he asks and Taemin looks up with a surprised gaze.

"Huh?" he says before he composes himself.

"Couldn't sleep?" Minho repeats and the 12-year-old sighs and shakes his head. It's rare that the two boys talk like this. The age difference has undoubtedly made Jonghyun and Minho closer than they are w
