Taemin likes it when he's at Jongin's. First because Jongin has a mother that cooks really delicious food every time Taemin stays over. She's a little like Kibum, but not really - and Taemin kind of envy Jongin because he has a mother. But the second reason that Taemin likes it every time he visits Jongin is because of Jongin's older sisters. They're around Jonghyun and Minho's age but they're so different from Taemin's brothers. They're girls which of course makes the most obvious difference but they also adore their brother. Jongin is so spoiled by his sisters and Taemin also mulls over his own situation because Minho is constantly teasing him whenever they're home. Of course, Taemin teases him back but Minho doesn't forgive like Jongin's sisters do. When Kibum picks him up a day in October, Taemin heaves a big sigh.

"What's wrong?" Kibum asks and Taemin turns around to look at his father in the driver's seat.

"Why don't I have a mother or a sister?" he mulls and Kibum turns silent. Taemin turns to look out of the window and misses the apologetic look Kibum sends his way. It takes almost 5 minutes of silence before Kibum dares to answer.

"You know your mother left you at the orphanage, Taemin-ah." The topic is delicate for the 10-year-old boy and Kibum doesn't exactly want to talk about it. How does he explain that Taemin got adopted by a gay couple because they wanted him? The boy had no say and there's no reason for him to know that he was lucky to have survived as long as he has. How does Kibum explain to Taemin that he doesn't have a sister because Jinki adopted Jonghyun and they together decided to adopt Minho? They had a choice with Minho. And how does Kibum explain to Taemin that Minho wanted a baby brother, not a baby sister? Taemin just sighs and nods. He's still a little sad that he doesn't have a mother or a sister like Jongin does.



Jongin's sisters Jieun and Soojin likes Taemin as well. They invite him with them when they drag Jongin out to shop and they bring him candies and bread whenever he's over. Jongin hates them, says they're too girly and annoying. Taemin likes them a lot. In January they get into a huge argument because Jongin yells at Taemin that he shouldn't be envious of Jongin and his sisters. Taemin shouts at Jongin that older brothers are the worst so he shouldn't be envious of Taemin either.

They don't speak for another 2 weeks until Jinki calls Jongin's parents and tell them about the argument. Minho sends him a mocking expression behind Kibum's back when they talk it out and Taemin retaliates when he sticks his tongue out. It gets him in trouble.



He hates Minho and he hates Jonghyun. Taemin tries to find reasons that his brothers are good enough but he can't. He makes list after list to try and come up with a least something.

Reasons he should have an older sister:

- She will be prettier than Minho and Jonghyun combined

- She is cute when she's small (not like Jonghyun)

- She will give him candy

- She won't mock him

- She will take him shopping and actually know what clothes to buy (much like Kibum but it's so last year to shop with your parents!)

- She will be proud of him
