A Cliché Family Fiftythree The car is packed with bags and blankets. Jonghyun is yawning, leaning against the window on his side while Taemin is in the middle, trying to put his legs in a comfortable position. They’re going to see Kibum’s parents in Daegu and wish them a merry Christmas and they’re all going.

Jinki climbs into the car behind the steering wheel, shortly followed by Minho on the back seat who almost sits on the open container with cookies. He lifts it and puts it in Taemin’s lap without a word. The youngest boy protests and sends it to Jonghyun who complains about already having two bottles of water at his feet and a bag that couldn’t fit in the trunk. Taemin hands the cookies back to Minho who glares at him and tells him he doesn’t want to hold them either. Jinki stays quiet until Minho reaches over Taemin and tries to put the cookies down onto Kibum’s seat, only to tip the container over and spill them on the seat. Jinki sighs and looks over his shoulder to glare at his sons.

“That wasn’t a smart move, was it?” he says and returns his attention to the cookies so he can put them back into the container.

“Well, I never asked for this ,” Minho mumbles and Jinki lifts his head.

“You can get out of the car if it bothers you so much,” he says. Minho falls quiet but stays in the car nonetheless. Minho wants to visit his grandparents just as much as the other two do. Kibum comes 30 seconds later and gets into the passenger seat. He places the cookies gently on the floor in front of him to make sure they’re not going to spill everywhere.



As they set out towards Daegu, Jonghyun quickly finds his headset, plugs them into his phone and zones out. Kibum is discussing politics with Jinki while Taemin joins in once in a while. Minho talks where he finds it appropriate.

An hour into the trip Minho finds a quiz on his phone and starts asking the questions to the family. Taemin joins and Jonghyun gets curious and removes one earbud so he can join the quiz too. Kibum and Jinki are talking about the matters
