Chapter -17: He Says I'm a Book
Our Twisted Love Story~*Your/Hye Ri's POV*~
I returned to the park that I was at only a few hours ago, but this time, it was sunny and I had taken the bus instead of walking. I spotted Myungsoo Oppa at his usual spot, leaning against the trunk of a tree. He had his eyes closed shut and with the sun hitting his features in all of the right places, it made him look like a perfectly carved statue of a god.
I really can't believe... I can't believe that I get to call him mine...
I happily tip-toed over to his figure, trying my best to stay silent and undetected. When I was about a foot away, he opened his eyes and locked gazes with me. "Trying to sneak up on me, are we?" He smirked.
"How did you know?" I gasped.
Can he read my mind...?
I cocked my head to the side thoughtfully.
He chuckled in amusement. "No. I can't read you're mind. I could just hear you a mile away."
"Oh." I pouted. "Wait. Then how did you do that? You read my mind again!" My mood switched from pouty to awed/amazed in an instant.
"It's 'cause I know you just that well. How many years have I known you now? You're like an open book to me." He expression soffened and he curled a strand of hair behind my ear. "A book I can't seem to stop reading. Why is that, Hye Ri? What have you done to me?"
"I don't know, but whatever I did to you, you did to me." I beamed.
"You're too cute, Angel." He said, ruffling my hair.
I paused for a moment. "Oppa."
"Hmm, Angel?"
"How come you keep calling me that?" I blinked up at him.
"It's your nickname since you are angelic just like an angel." He smiled warmly. "Why? You don't like it?"
I fervently shook my head. "Of course not Oppa! It's just... why do you have a nickname for me, but I don't have a nickname for you?" I slightly pouted.
Myungsoo chuckled. "Wae? You want to make me one?"
I nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! But whatever nickname I come up with, you have to respond to no matter what, okay?"
"Araso."
"Hmm... Let me think..." I squinted my eyes and stared intently at Myungsoo with my hand holding my chin. After a few moments, I threw my hands up in exasperation. "I don't know! I can't think of a unique nickname." I frowned. "I give up!"
"Aw, come here. It's okay. You know that I'll love any nickname you give me no matter how un-unique it is." He opened his arms, waiting for me to come into them.
I blinked a couple of times, analyzing what he just said.
"That's it!" I squealed in happiness.
"What's it?" Myungsoo questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"I found my nickname for you! L." I smiled.
"L? Just the letter L?"
"Mhmm. L for I love you!" I clapped joyfully and hopped into his arms. I pulled back to examine his face. "Why, Oppa? You don't like it?"
He smiled softly. "I love it. Thank you. So you'll call me L from now on?"
"Mhmm." I nodded. "Oh! L Oppa! I have to tell you something~" I said in a sing-song voice. He motioned for me to continue. "Are you free this weekend?"
"Yea. Wae?"
"Great! Then I'm taking you to meet my cousin, kay? She wants to meet you. Is that okay with you?"
"Perfect as long as that's what you want, Angel."
"Aigoo. So mushy." I stuck my tongue out.
"Who's fault do you think that is?" He shot right back.
"Hmm..." I contemplated for a few moments before a sly grin flashed across my face. "Yours!" I sang before shooting off, laughing as I ran.
"Yah! Come back here! Yah!" L smiled as he ran after me.
