Baekhyun is sipping on his smoothie in the cafeteria when suddenly someone sits next to him.

“Hey, Byun.”

Baekhyun turns his head and, yes, Chanyeol—the best friend he’s been crushing on for two years—is sitting next to him. There’s a silence between them before Luhan, their Chinese classmate, passes by and Chanyeol starts blabbering to Baekhyun how perfect Luhan is.

“You know what, Byun,” Chanyeol’s gaze is still set on Luhan’s disappearing figure. “The hardest part in loving is when you can only see the person you love from a distance and not be able to tell him how much you love him because to him you are just his friend.”

Baekhyun chuckles, making Chanyeol turn his head at him. “You should know how hard it is to love someone who loves someone else, Park. You have to ignore the pain and swallow your pride just to be a friend. But somehow in the end, it’s all worth it cause friendship lasts longer than love. That’s what I’m trying to tell myself about what to do with my feelings for you.”
