When Trouble Walked In [Hiatus]
Sehun couldn’t help it but smile all the way to the car. The look that Shin Dongho had given him after he kissed Minah was priceless. Take that, you bastard, he thought.
“Yah, why did you kiss me?” she asked, grabbing his attention. Her face was red as the car started to move.
Sehun looked at her with a small smile. “Tsk, why did you ignore my texts and the notes I forced people to pass to you?” he asked.
“Why do you even bother passing them?” asked Minah, irritated.
Sehun lets out a grunt of frustration. “Because you weren’t replying to my texts!” he responded, almost yelling. “Why didn’t you respond?”
“Because you’re being weird!” replied Minah. “Really, really weird!! Why didn’t you inform me that you were going to be this… Creepy?”
“Creepy?” asked Sehun. “CREEPY?!! YAH, YOU’RE THE ONE THAT WANTED ME TO BE A GOOD BOYFRIEND TO YOU!!”
Minah stared at him. “That is how you’re a good boyfriend to me?” she asked. Then, she scoffed. “Well, that was quite depressing.”
Sehun shook his head. “What do you mean?” he asked.
“Why don’t we just stop?” asked Minah, with sincerity. “Why are we pretending to have feelings for each other when we don’t?”
“Then, why are you going along with me?” asked Sehun, in return.
“Because you are my fiancé now.” replied Minah, softly. “And, I need to repay your family back for all that you have done for mine.”
Sehun was quiet for a bit. “Then, I dragged you into this for lying...” he added.
They were quiet the whole way home.
Sehun had finished his homework and looked through the college entrance exam questions he was supposed to study for an hour or so. Then, he got bored and decided to go downstairs to watch something in the living room. Even though he and Minah would do homework and study together, her enthusiasm to study was too much for him. He liked school, but he wasn’t going to go over the top to crack his cranium open… And, he didn’t care about being the number 1 student.
Sehun was flipping through the channels when his stomach growled. He looked at the clock and it was barely 6 pm. Dinner wasn’t going to be served until 7 pm, but he didn’t care. He needed to eat something before he died of malnutrition. Sehun went into the kitchen to find his mom and the maid, cooking.
“Sehun, what are you doing?” asked Mrs. Oh, without looking over her shoulder as she .
“Uh… Snacking.” he replied, as he opened the snack cabinet to grab a few cookies. He looked over at his mom as she looked over her shoulder at him.
“Where is Minah?” she asked, reminding him of her and the deal that he had made with her.
“S-She’s still studying…” he replied, as he stuck cookies back into the package. “And, I’m taking some snacks for her.” He grabbed the whole box of cookies.
“Get two glasses of milk and a tray. It’ll be easier to carry upstairs that way.” suggested Mrs. Oh.
Sehun nodded his head as he did as his mom told him. It was the first time his mom has ever let him eat before dinner. She would usually tell him and his brother to wait if they were hungry, but Minah (obviously) have more privileges than the both of them combined.
She opened the door to the bedroom with a surprised face. “What are you doing?” she asked, as he stepped into the room. “Isn’t dinner soon?”
“Yeah, but who cares! Aren’t you hungry?” asked Sehun, as he set the tray down on the coffee table by the sofa. He quickly sat on the ground.
“Of course!” replied Minah.
“Then, why are you complaining?” asked Sehun, as he opened the box of cookies. He quickly grabbed a chocolate chip cookie and dipped it into one of the cups of milk.
“It just seems like your mom isn’t the type to let us eat before dinner like this.” replied Minah, as she sat by his side and did the same.
Sehun shrugged. “Your mom?” he asked, as he raised an eyebrow at her. He turned to look at her as he bit his milk-soaked-cookie. “It’s just Mom, Minah. Mom.” Minah flashed a look of disgust. Sehun smiled as he leaned in close to her face. “I love you, Kim Minah.”
She quickly pulled away and pushed him away from her as he started to laugh. “Stop playing around, Oh Sehun!!!!” she screamed.
He laughed out loud. “Your face is so freaking red.” he said. “It was priceless!!!!”
“Shut up!!” yelled Minah, getting mad. She suddenly loss her appetite and placed down the half eaten cookie and cup of milk.
“Yah, aren’t you going to eat?” asked Sehun, as she walked back to his desk by the window. It was already getting dark, as the sunset slowly disappeared. Mr. Oh and Grandpa Kim should be getting home soon.
Sehun called out Minah’s name and she didn’t respond. She flipped her college entrance exam study guide open and started to write something in it. He lets out a sigh as he quickly finished his cookie. Sehun stood up and walked over to her. He called out her name. She stopped writing and then turned away from him. Before he could react, she walked away from him.
“Yah!!” said Sehun, as he grabbed her arm and making her face him. “Why are you mad?”
Minah looked into his eyes and tried to get away from him, but he gripped onto her shoulders, not letting her go. “Gosh, just tell me!” he said.
The girl frowned. “Don’t say things you don’t mean.” she whispered.
Sehun blinked, slowly. “What?” he asked, cautiously.
“Don’t say crap you don’t mean!” yelled Minah, releasing her anger. “Don’t tell me that you like or love someone unless if you mean it!”
Sehun rolled his eyes as he let her go. “OK, OK… I won’t say it ever again unless if I mean it.” he said. “Geesh, woman…”
Minah glared at him. “Do you go around lying to girls that you like them all the time or what?” she asked.
“No…” replied Sehun, slowly. “I guess you’re more sensitive than I thought…”
“Tsk.” scoffed Minah, as she folded her arm across her chest. “I just don’t like how you approach things like this… Look, I know that you don’t like me, OK? And, you’re completely being nice to me for the fact that you don’t want to be known as a liar and loser in front of Dongho. I don’t like that, alright? I don’t like how you’re just doing all these thing for that. It’s unsettling because it’s all a lie.”
“Do you want it to be real?” asked Sehun.
Minah opened , but didn’t say anything. “Of course I will like it to be real. If a guy is going to say and do things like that, then it should be real.” she said.
“Are you backing out now?” continued Sehun. She didn’t respond. “But, I’m your fiancé.”
“And, you don’t love me nor like me.” concluded Minah. Her voice sounded sad and the last thing he wanted was for her to start crying.
“Then, just continue with this until you find someone you like.” suggested Sehun. “I’ll let you go when someone returns those feelings for you.”
Minah stared at him. “You better.” she said. “Especially if I’m saving your for you.”
Sehun smiled. “Of course.” he responded. “I’ll let you go when the time comes.”
