Lee Mi Sun arrived through the school gates, admiring the amazing costal view. The sun glittered on the sea around the bright white building. All she could see was the horizon behind the school and the students running around with surf boards and towels. It didn't feel like a school at all. It felt more like a social club. Although the school had a informal exterior, people would kill to be here and she was lucky enough to be a transfer student. She wore a smile on her face and said hello to everyone she saw. She arrived in the principal's office and waited until he arrived. He looked more younger than she thought - around the age of 28 - but he looked like he should be in a KDrama. Mi Sun imagined Park HwanBin as a elder man, with thick rimmed glasses but he looked like any other student. His black hair was swooped over in a Bieber-style hairstyle and stylish black glasses framed his brown eyes. Mi Sun tried not to stutter in embarassment when she bowed to him.
"Annyongasayo, Mr Park, sir."
"You don't have to bow, Mi Sun. Sit down, make yourself comfortable." She did what she was told and sat in front of HwanBin's desk. "Now, let me be the first to say - Welcome of Silver Sun High School. Also known as Double S High to the students. I take it that you've had a look around."
"Of course, Sir. The view of the beach is amazing."
"You're becoming a Double S Student already." HwanBin chuckled, escorting Mi Sun to her first class - English Literacy. She watched the paper aeroplanes fly in the sky when HwanBin opened the door. "Mir, cut that out!!" HwanBin raised his voice and a brown haired boy stopped in his tracks. His cheeky smile turned into a face that said Oh-Crap-I'm-Busted and his brown eyes looked down at his desk, trying to hide from the world. "Everyone, I would like to introduce to you, our new Transfer Student, Lee Mi Sun." The class murmured and HwanBin gestured Mi Sun to her seat. "You can sit beside Joon. He'll show you around." The girls around her pouted and muttered around her. Her best guess was that Joon was one of the popular kids. She sat down and turned her head towards him. His beauty took her breath away. Mi Sun couldn't help but admire his large, chocolate brown eyes, hiding behind his aurburn hair. He was looking out the window into the beach below, like he was daydreaming. He suddenly looked over to Mi Sun and smiled sweetly, catching her off-guard. Mi Sun could feel her cheeks fluster into a deep pink. She promised herself that something like this wouldn't happen but she just met him and she couldn't control her feeling. She was developing what people call a crush. Mi Sun looked around
"OK, class. Let's focus." The teacher announced and handed out textbooks. "I unfortunately have a meeting but I'm leaving the class in Jessica's hands," The blonde girl raised her hand and smiled, pushing back her cute, black glasses back onto her face. "So I don't want any monkey business. Mir, I'm looking at you." Mir looked up from his desk and looked around the class like a deer in headlights.
"What did I do now, Noona?" Mir's eyes widened in shock. The teacher sighed and slammed a textbook onto his desk.
"I told you not to call me Noona."
"You know you enjoy it.... Noona." Mir smirked at her, trying to charm his way out of trouble. Joon shook his head in shame, watching the events unfold.
"Aish. Jessica, keep an eye on him."
"Gladly, Miss." Jessica smiled, glaring at Mir and giving him an I'm-Watching-You look.
"Noona Neoppu Yeppo~~" Mir sang as the teacher walked out. The class laughed. One of Mir's friend, SeungHo held his hand out for a high five.
"OK people. Calm down." Jessica sighed. Mir threw a scrunched up piece of paper at her. "Hey!"
"Stop up to Noona, Teacher's Pet."
"Shut up, Mir!" Jessica growled at him, turning away. Mi Sun looked around at the other students. Mir, SeungHo and G.O. were joking around, playing jokes on each other. Jessica looked down at her textbook, her blonde hair covered her perfect face from Mi Sun's angle. Another girl, Sunny was like the female equivelant of Mir. She sat at her desk, chewing gum and gossiping with the other girls. It was just like Mi Sun imagined it to be. A scene from a teenage school drama lile "90210". She wondered if all classes were like this. The antics continued as Mir drew a moustache on Chun Doong who was sleeping sliently.
"I wouldn't want to asleep in this class." Mi Sun giggled to herself, watching the "drama" unfold. Chun Doong woke up, rubbing his eyes. Mir and his friends sniggered at him. Chun Doong glared at them and stood up. Mir ran across the class in fear. The class laughed as the chase began. Mi Sun looked at Joon who was also watching but he looked ashamed. Like Mi Sun's father would do if she did something like that. Mir ran back to his desk but Chun Doong grabbed him by the collar, ready to punch him. The girls in the class gasped, squealing in fear. One of them, Dara ran up to Chun Doong and pushed him away. Mi Sun giggled as she watched her argue like brother and sister. Chun Doong and Dara had a bond and Mi Sun could clearly notice that.
"Don't worry. Life here isn't always like this." A voice beside Mi Sun spoke. She turned her head and saw Joon. His sparkling eyes met with hers. She turned into a speechless idiot. She couldn't say anything or do anything. She was acting like a fangirl around him. Even his smile made her melt inside.

The bell rang and Mir was the first person who burst through the doors. Everyone ran out of their classes and cheered. It was a free period and to the students in Double S High, that meant one thing. Surf Time. The school was located just beside the beach and the students made their own path to it through a sand hill behind the Science Classes. Joon lead Mi Sun to the beach, showng her around the classes as they went along. Mi Sun listened carefully and admired his soft, reassuring voice. Sunny and the other girls followed them as they walked through the sand hill. Whenever Joon looked back, they would giggle and squeal. He just smirked and waved at them.
"Hi Joonie!" The girls said in unison, in a flirtatious voice. Joon winked at them and was dragged away by Mir and Chun Doong. Mi Sun giggled, watching Mir throw Joon into the sea. The sun was beating down and the sea was just perfect for surfers. It didn't feel like they were only metres away from the school but like they were on Spring Break. She wouldn't be surprised if cameras for MTV were here, filming every moment like it was Spring Break. Mi Sun wandered on the beach and noticed some of the girls crowded over a Tiki Bar. She walked over and noticed two students running it. One of them was a girl with chocolate brown hair which cascaded into waves down to her back. She was dancing along to the music playing on the radio and flirting with every boy. The other was a blonde haired boy, showing off his skills as he caught a cocktail mixer in mid-air. The girls who were watching cheered, chanting his name. Mi Sun looked up at the bar's sign - HyunSeob's Beach Paradise. She heard their names from people in her class. Kim Hyuna and Yang Yoseob. They were the party duo of Double S. Hyuna flirted with the boys while Yoseob charmed the girls. They were the perfect flirting duo. Mi Sun walked over to the Paradise. Hyuna noticed her and smiled.
"You must be the newbie." Hyuna bowed and nudged Yoseob. "Yoseob, get her a drink. On the house." Yoseob did a playful salute to Mi Sun and turned to the back of the Paradise. Mi Sun stayed quiet. She felt out of place. She was the only one on the beach still wearing her uniform. The other girls were dressed up in cute, summer dresses with flowers in their hair, or short skirts and loose t-shirts. Sunny was the best dressed of them all - as predicted. She wore a floaty blue cardigan, a white blouse and the shortest navy blue skirt Mi Sun ever saw. She was talking to her friends, drinking a Mary and enjoying the summer sun. Mi Sun felt a little vain around her. Sunny was way more beautiful compared to her and Mi Sun felt like a normal girl, blending into the crowd. "Earth to Newbie!!" Hyuna sang, holding a Cherry Spritzer in Mi Sun's face. "Hehe. Is someone jealous of Sunny?"
"You can say that again." Mi Sun laughed, drinking from the blue tinted glass. She could taste the burst of Cherry in .
"Don't worry. Sunny's a pretty nice girl. It's Bekkah and Chaerin you have to watch out for. They'll beat your if you mess with them." Hyuna winked at Mi Sun, pointing to the two girls at the other end of the beach. Bekkah and Chaerin were the bad girls and no one tried to mess with her. As Mir was about to learn. He tripped over his surf board and fell onto Bekkah's lap. She scowled at him and carried him back to the sea, tying him to his surf board. She pushed him into the sea and left him to float like a dolphin.
"Ouch!" Yoseob hissed through his teeth, watching the action unfold. Mir was beaten up by the waves. Bekkah turned back to Chaerin and laughed. "I wouldn't want to mess with them if I was Mir right now." Mi Sun's eyes soon noticed Joon, walking onto the beach. The girls around him stopped and stared. He looked like a model in a magazine. His wet hair drooped in front his eyes and his wet body glistened in the sun. He walked past Mi Sun without saying any thing. Sunny turned from her chair and stared too. Her nose began to bleed from the heavenly sight. Mi Sun couldn't help but laugh. She passed over a tissue to Sunny.
"Oh! Thank you." Sunny smiled, taking the tissue from Mi Sun. "You're the transfer girl right?"
"Yeah. Still finding my way here." Mi Sun bowed to her, trying to act formal. Sunny giggled, wiping the blood away. Mi Sun had to know why every girl was drooling whenever Joon walked past. "Sunny, you know everyone here. Why does every girl fall head over heels for Joon?" Sunny and her friends, Sooyoung and Yuri gasped.
"You don't know yet?" Sunny pulled Mi Sun closer and covered her ear, whispering to her. "He's the Kingka of Double S High."
"Every girl would do anything to date him." Sooyoung added to the convosation, swooping her hair over her shoulder. "He's the perfect man." The four girls looked over to the sand hill where Joon was. Sunny, Sooyong and Yuri sighed, admiring him like he was God.
"EVERY girl is like this with him?" Mi Sun looked over to Hyuna and Yoseob for some sort of advice.
"It's the role of the Kingka." Yoseob threw a strawberry into the cocktail mixer and threw it up, catching it in mid-air. "To be handsome and be the bad boy of the school. Lee Joon fits that catagory perfectly."
"Didn't you have a Kingka in your last school, Newbie?" Hyuna looked at Mi Sun with glittering, chocolate eyes.
"Not really. It was an All Girl-School but my dad moves a lot so I kinda know what a Kingka is." JongKo Academy For Girls was nothing compared to Double S High. The girls never rebelled or gossiped. They were quiet and reserved. Mi Sun hated it there. She felt trapped and she didn't make any friends there. However, in Double S, she felt free to do anything and on the first day, she made some new friends in Hyuna, Yoseob and Sunny. She felt like she belonged there, which never usually happened in any of the Schools she was in before. She had to learn more about the place and HwanBin assigned Joon to do excactly that and yet he didn't say anything outside the class. She ran back through the sand hill, ignoring anything Hyuna said. She stumbled across the sand and into the school. It felt eerie and quiet, like in a horror movie. Only the strong smell of coffee lingered in the hallways as Mi Sun walked through the school. She felt a little uneasy being there alone but she continued on. She heard music from somewhere, which interested her in some way. She followed the music and reached a hall, where Joon was. He was dancing to the music. Every move he made was graceful. He span into a ballet spin and leaped. He landed with perfection and smiled at his success. Mi Sun felt her heart beat against her chest. The lights in the hall were turned low so just a glimmer of light shined on Joon. Mi Sun admired every move he made. Joon had a charasmatic look in his eye, like he was focused in the moment. Mi Sun leaned forward until her face was pressed against the door. Her eyes never left Joon as he slowly ed his school shirt, revealing a tight white vest. Without analysing what was happening, Mi Sun's weight forced the door open. She free-falled to the floor, her nose cracking as her body hit the ground. She stayed on the floor for a minute, wallowing in the pit of embarrassment. She slowly looked up and saw Joon standing in front of her, holding out his hand. Ignoring the fact that she could be moving too fast, she reached out and pulled herself to her feet, with the help of Joon.
"Are you OK, Mi Sun?" Joon said to her in a sweet, caring voice. Her heart skipped a beat in her chest. She couldn't believe that he remembered her name.
"Uh... I think I'm OK." Mi Sun whimpered in pain, wiping the blood away from the nose. Joon didn't reply. He just smiled sweetly. Mi Sun blushed, looking down. She never expected her first day to be like this. Joon stepped back and pressed play on the stereo, starting another song. He started to dance gracefully as Mi Sun recovered. She watched him dance to a hot tango beat. He spinned on the spot and stopped, looking at Mi Sun. He held his hand out to her, silently begging her to dance with him. She felt a little uneasy. She used to dance on her own but never with a partner. She didn't know that her hand was already in Joon's and she was twirled into his body. Body heat radiated from them as they slowly danced to the music. Joon guided her through every step, ignoring the pink fluster on her cheeks. The ribbon tying back Mi Sun's hair flew out as she spinned into his arms. Her hair floated down to her shoulder in cascading chocolate brown waves. Their lips were now centimetres apart and she could feel Joon's minty breath on her skin. It was going too fast for her likng but she felt butterflies in her stomach. Her heart was trying to convince her brain to think twice before walking away. Joon slowly leaned forward but before their lips touched, the sharp ring of the bell appeared.
"I... I gotta go... I'm sorry that I interrupted you." Mi Sun pulled away and bowed, grabbing her bag as she ran out the door.
"Maybe we should do this more often." Joon replied, pulling his shirt back over his vest. "You're a pretty good dancer." Mi Sun smiled, feeling her cheeks fluster again.
"I'd love to. Thank you, Joon Oppa." Mi Sun ran to her next class, bumping into Hyuna, who was now cladded in a blazer and the shortest skirt that would fit Double S' standards. She wondered where she was but if Mi Sun told her she would never believe her.

Over the next month, Mi Sun and Joon would meet up to dance together and they form a friendship between them. Mi Sun told him about her father's job and why they travelled a lot. Joon returned the favour by telling her his true feelings towards his Kingka title. He didn't care about his title. He may be rich and good-looking but he wanted to be a normal person. Most of the girls - especially Sunny and the girls - would try their luck with him but he wanted to fall in love. Not have a cheap fling every now and again. Mi Sun was slowly falling in love with him with every meeting. She didn't think straight in any class. All she thought about was Joon. Soon, it was becoming obvious to Mi Sun's friends how she felt. Even Hyuna and Yoseob knew. Mi Sun would usually stare out the window, humming a song to herself. She'd have a permenant smile on her face whenever Joon walked by. Joon was showing some signs too. He'd talk to her more often and looked away blushing when she called him Oppa. Hyuna was getting suspicious and she began to plot something. With Yoseob's help, she wanted to bring Joon and Mi Sun closer together. Not any Valentine's Day crap. Just a straight up confession like in a drama. Hyuna watched Mi Sun happily skip up to her during the free period, her trademark smile on her face.
"You wanted to talk to me, Hyuna Unnie?"
"Yup... I know you like Joon." Mi Sun's face dropped. The colour in her cheeks instantly drained out. Without a single word, Hyuna pointed to Joon at the other side of the room, who was giving Mi Sun quick glances. Mi Sun looked down at the ground and smiled. "It's so obvious, Mi Sun. You like him and YOU know it." Mi Sun stayed silent and stepped back, bumping into a blonde haired girl. She soon regretted moving as she looked up. Chaerin. Mi Sun ran behind Hyuna, hiding behind her. Chaerin glared at her with ice eyes. The Banana milk she was holding was splattered over her leather jacket.
"I am so gonna kill you, Newbie." Chaerin growled, pushing Hyuna out the way and grabbing the collar of Mi Sun's blazer.
"She didn't mean to do it, Chaerin." Hyuna answered back, running up to push her way. Bekkah appeared behind Chaerin and slapped Hyuna. She gracefully fell to the floor, Yoseob running to her side. Chaerin threw her fist into Mi Sun's face, the impact pushing Mi Sun over a desk that Hyuna was originally sitting on. The hard floor struck her back, sending a shooting pain up her spine. Chaerin reappeared, repeatedly punching Mi Sun's face. No one was cheering her on except Bekkah. The rest of the class yelled at her to stop but she didn't react. Mi Sun whimpered in pain, feeling the blood rushing to her head. The couple ring on Chaerin's hand made the pain even worse. Mi Sun was partly blinded and covered in bruises, and she couldn't even cry for help.
"Chaerin! Stop it! You're hurting her." Joon's voice appeared from nowhere. His hand covered Chaerin's free fist, stopping her. He pulled her away and pushed her into Bekkah's direction.
"Oh, look." Bekkah sniggered, watching Joon pick Mi Sun up into her arms. "Joon has to step in to play Prince Charming."
"DON'T YOU EVER SHUT THE HELL UP?!" Joon shouted in Bekkah's face, his face was now red with rage. He looked at Hyuna and Yoseob, who stood up to help him carry Mi Sun to the Nurse. Hyuna's plan took a turn for the worse and boy, did she know it.

The four students waited for Mi Sun's father to appear. Mi Sun held a bag of frozen beansprouts on her face, Hyuna muttered under her breath, cursing Chaerin's name like it was voodoo and Yoseob and Joob stayed silent, watching over the girls. It only took ten minutes after the nurse sent the message to her father and he was there, bursting through the door.
"Mi Sun, my baby. Are you alright?" He ran up to hug his daughter, who instantly cried into his shoulder. Hyuna glared at Yoseob and Joon, mentally asking them to give her dongsaeng some privacy. They quickly walked out the door, leaving Hyuna, Mi Sun and her father.
"Your daugher should be OK, Mr Lee, sir. It was a girl just asking for trouble."
"Thank you for looking after my daughter the past month, Hyuna but I have some news." Mi Sun's heart sank. His little "I have some news..." thing would always be said when they had to move again. Mi Sun felt the tears in her eyes immediately. She pushed her father away and ran out the room. "Mi Sun!" Her father chased after her.
"I don't want to move again. I'm happy here." Mi Sun burst into tears in front of him. Hyuna stood from the sidelines and watched. Her new best friend was leaving her before she could admit her feelings to Joon. From what she heard, Mi Sun's bags were already packed and they were leaving for Tokyo that night. Hyuna's plan was now more important than she thought. She had to tell Joon how Mi Sun felt and somehow convince him to do the same. She waited until Mi Sun wasn't in her class to talk to Joon.
"Joon? We've got a problem."
"What's up?" Joon looked at her with worried eyes. He was still concerned about Mi Sun after what happened with Chaerin. Hyuna told Joon everything. How Mi Sun felt when they first met. What she told Hyuna after the first dance "class". Every little daydream Mi Sun had about him.
"She's leaving for Tokyo tonight and I don't think she's coming back, Joon. I know deep inside you like her and you worry about your stupid Kingka image to tell her."
"No... I don't care about the Kingka image anymore. I... love her."
"I KNEW IT!" Hyuna squealed, jumping up and down like a happy fan girl. "Now... You only have one shot to tell her so I think you better run down to Seoul Airport because Mi Sun is catching the next flight to Tokyo." Before Hyuna could finish her sentence, Joon ran out the door and out of the Double S gates. Hyuna smiled at herself, knowing that her work was done.

Mi Sun stood in the airport, looking back at the bright lights of Seoul. She was waving goodbye to a great life again. She went through this so many times before but she could never cope with it. It was like waving goodbye to herself and becoming a new Lee Mi Sun. The tears still ran down her cheeks as she followed her father through the crowds. She stayed silent, dragging her suitcase behind her. She didn't have time to say goodbye to everyone. She only said goodbye to her new best friend, Hyuna. She told her to say goodbye to Yoseob and Sunny and to say sorry for leaving so fast. Her father was supposed to be in Tokyo by the weekend, which only gave them a day to get on the plane. Before she reached the gate, she looked back and burst into tears. Everything she saw in the airport reminded her of Joon. Trying to get the thoughts out of her head, she looked over at her father who held her gently in his arm like he did when she was a child. She whispered Joon's name under her breath wishing she could see him again but suddenly she heard a recognisable voice.
"LEE MI SUN!!" She noticed a blur of black and blue - Double S' school colours - run towards her, shouting her name. It was Joon. He jumped across every suitcase in his way, trying to reach her. Mi Sun ran out of her father's arms and towards him. Joon held his arms out and held her tight.
"Joon, what are you doing here?" Mi Sun sobbed softly, cradled in Joon's arms. "I have to go..."
"No... I won't let you out of my sight ever again. I love you too much to see you go." Mi Sun's heart jumped when she heard that. She looked up into Joon's dark eyes, shellshocked.
"What did you say?" Joon smiled sweetly at Mi Sun's question and knelt down, holding a small ring. It glittered under the bright lights of the airport.
"I love you, Lee Mi Sun." He gently placed the ring on her finger and smiled at her. "If you have to go... I want you to know that I'll always wait for you right here. This couple ring is my promise." Mi Sun tried to say "I love you too" but her voice couldn't muttter the words. She wiped away the tears and held him in her arms, quickly pressing her lips against hers. She waited so long for that kiss and the waiting was worth it. She knew it couldn't last so she savoured the minty taste of his lips as she pulled away.
"You'll wait for me, Oppa?" She finally had the courage to say something to him. Joon just continued to smile, giving her a little card with his number.
"I will, Mi Sun. If you ever need me, just call. Arraso?" Mi Sun nodded, trying not to cry again. Joon stepped back and bowed to her like she was a princess. Mi Sun looked back at her father and ran to him, looking back to witness Joon's angelic smile again.
"Who was that, Honey?" Her father asked her as she boarded the plane. Mi Sun looked at the sliver couple ring glittering on her skin and then to the card. Above his number was a message - Every girl needs someone to protect her, I hope I can be that someone for you. She smiled to herself, reading the message. She then looked up to her father's gentle smile and replied.
"I think he's the guy who rescued me, Appa."
