My Mysterious Boss┍━━━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━━━┑
"Did you get the report?" Sunghoon asked.
Hajoon looked up at him.
"I did, thanks."
"Did you find anything on it?" Sunghoon asked.
"Nothing yet. I'm sending the reports to the States," Hajoon said, looking at the river with his right hand in his pocket.
"I'm sorry I couldn't do much on it," Sunghoon apologized, looking at the river after.
Hajoon slowly looked at Sunghoon.
"It's not your fault," Hajoon replied.
"I hope you find what you're looking for," Sunghoon said.
"I hope so too."
"Soohyuk called earlier that you invited him too?" Sunghoon asked.
"I did."
"Why?"
Hajoon looked at Sunghoon.
"I just wanted to...catch up," Hajoon said.
"I know you," Sunghoon said, looking at Hajoon a little more serious this time.
"I just need to make sure."
"Hajoon. Sunghoon."
Sunghoon looked pass Hajoon's shoulder, realizing it was Soohyuk.
Hajoon looked over his shoulder, realizing another guest behind Soohyuk.
"Hajoon, it's just -------," Soohyuk introduced.
Hajoon furrowed his brows.
--------?
Hajoon thought.
"Sunghoon, this is -------," Soohyuk smiled while greeting you to Sunghoon.
Hajoon looked at you, suspiciously.
What is she doing here?
He questioned as he observe your body language.
"Hello, Mr. Wi Ha Joon-shi," you greeted, bowing.
Hajoon stared at you, saying nothing more.
She's gotta be here for something.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
As the talks went around, Hajoon looked over at you, noticing you were attentively listening, yet saying nothing.
"Are you waiting for Eunwoo?"
Hajoon asked.
He noticed you were surprised by the way you looked at him.
"Ah, yes."
Let's see what you want.
"Should we go look for him?" Hajoon asked, observing your reaction.
"Huh?"
Surprised.
"I mean, no. I should get going," you excused yourself.
You bowed before leaving the guys there.
That's it?
He looked at you as you walked further away.
I'll get something from Eunwoo, if not you.
Hajoon thought.
"Let's catch up later," Hajoon said to Sunghoon and Soohyuk, leaving both of them confused.
Hajoon followed you.
"I can have my men look for him," Hajoon said.
You turned around to look behind.
"Mr. Hajoon-shi, it's okay. He took a friend to a clinic nearby. He's probably still waiting for her, that's all."
"Would..." Hajoon thought twice before finishing his question, "you like me to walk you there?"
"Mr. Hajoon-shi, it's okay. I'll just---"
"Let me walk you to the clinic," Hajoon insisted.
"Thank...you."
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Hajoon noticed since you two began walking from the riverfront you had been fidgeting with your fingers.
What are you nervous about?
Just then, you made eye contact with him, breaking away immediately.
Does she know something?
Hajoon thought.
"Do you see your friend?" he asked.
"No. I just hope he didn't leave me here," you replied.
"Did you need a ride home?"
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
As you two walked down the isolated path, Hajoon noticed a strange man following from behind.
Ricci's minion?
Hajoon thought.
"Do you like being the new chairman?"
"It's okay," Hajoon answered, though his attention was still focused on the strange man who had been following you two.
From Hajoon's peripheral view, he knew the man was going to attack.
"Is it----"
Without any second thoughts, Hajoon grabbed your arm, pulling you next to him.
"Who sent you here?" Hajoon asked the man, as he held the knife to his side.
"HEY!"
Both you and Hajoon looked over to see Eunwoo, pointing at the guy who was standing in front of you two.
The strange man looked at two before bolting away.
Hajoon looked at the man, as you looked at Eunwoo jogging up towards you two.
Eunwoo immediately grabbed you.
"Are you okay?" He asked, examining you.
You, still in a state of shock, nodded your head.
You looked at Hajoon, as he took a deep and frustrated breath.
"Thank you, Mr. Hajoon-shi," you said.
Hajoon looked at you, not saying anything.
"Yah, did you bring her here to hurt her?" Eunwoo asked Hajoon.
"Eunwoo, Mr. Hajoon-shi helped me," you told him, grabbing onto his arm, hoping that it would prevent Eunwoo from throwing hands.
Eunwoo looked at you, confused. He was a bit embarrassed for doing that to Hajoon.
Hajoon looked at you and then Eunwoo.
"Excuse me," Hajoon said, walking back.
You looked at Hajoon as he walked back. He pulled out his phone and placed it over his ear as you saw it.
"Yah, why are you with him?" Eunwoo asked.
You brought your attention back to Eunwoo.
"We came to look for you," you told him.
"What do you mean?"
"I bumped into Mr. Hajoon while I was waiting for you, and he insisted on walking with me to find you," you explained.
"Is Aerin okay?" you asked him.
"You almost got hurt and you're worried about her?" Eunwoo questioned.
You didn't know how to respond to Eunwoo.
Eunwoo sighed, looking around.
"Let's go home," Eunwoo said.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
Hajoon observed you and Eunwoo talk to each other.
"Excuse me," Hajoon said, before walking back.
Hajoon pulled his phone out, quickly making a call to his men.
"Search everywhere in the area for a man wearing a navy blue sweater. Bring him back, alive," Hajoon ordered, before hanging up the call.
Hajoon huffed, letting the man go was something he didn't do so often.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
You stared at the board in your room with your arms crossed.
You couldn't quite understand and process what had happened a few hours ago.
You looked at Hajoon's picture that was pinned onto the board.
You walked over to your desk and jotted down a note on the sticky note before sticking it on the board under his picture.
Skillfully knows how a knife works
The note said. You looked at the note again.
"No, no, no," you whispered.
Combatively
Adding on to the note.
"You can't possibly be a spy, right?" you whispered, staring at his picture.
You sighed.
You looked over to your closet. His cleaned blazer hung in there, as if it wanted your attention.
"Can you tell me something?" you asked.
You grabbed the hanger, pulling it off from the rod.
You sat down and laid the blazer on your bed.
You carefully removed the blazer from the hanger and began examining every inch.
"Brunello Cucinelli?" you questioned, looking at the tag that was sewn on the inside.
"What kind of name is this?"
You grabbed another sticky note and wrote down the name, sticking it below your previous note.
"There's got to be something about this," you looked at the board again.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
"I took your bag the other day. I'm so sorry," Haein apologized, as you two stood behind the desk.
You were zoned out, buried in your thoughts.
"Yah," Haein said, gently slapping your arm.
You looked at her, confused.
"Yes?"
"Did you not hear what I said?" She asked.
"What did you say?"
"I took your bag the other day," Haein said, sliding your bag to you.
"Ah, thank you," you thanked her, placing your bag in one of the compartments under the desk.
"Are you okay?" Haein asked, as she noticed you were quite zoned out.
"Yea, I am," you lied. Truth was you needed to get your investigation going. Everything about Hajoon didn't connect at all.
"Did you get the job?" Haein asked.
You had forgotten about that.
"I'm not sure. I don't think so. It's been almost two weeks and I haven't gotten a reply back from them."
"It's okay. Just stay here with me," Haein smiled.
"Yea," you replied though your mind was constantly thinking about Hajoon.
"Did you hear that the chairman's father is supposed to come in this week?" Haein asked.
You quickly looked at Haein.
"What?"
"Yea, apparently, there's an event or something welcoming his father."
"Really?"
Haein nodded.
"Also, I heard that only selected people of the company are invited," Haein added.
"Let's pray that we get invited," Haein giggled.
Meanwhile Haein was getting excited, you stood there, thinking about him again.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
You slowly walked down the stairs as you headed for the bus stop.
How did he do it last night? His dad is coming too. I need to make sure I'm invited.
You thought.
You were distracted when your phone rang.
"Hello."
"Am I speaking with Park ------shi?"
"Ah, yes. This is Park ------," you replied.
"You'll start work next week at 6 P.M./18:00" the caller said.
You stopped and stood there for a while.
"Wait, is this for the Lee's residence?" You asked.
"Yes, please come in next on Monday at 6 P.M./ 18:00," with that final note, the caller ended the call.
You stood there in shocked. It took you a few seconds before you began celebrating, jumping up and down excitedly, containing your sequels.
"AHHH!"
You were startled by Hajoon's sudden appearance. You held onto your chest.
"Omo, Mr. Hajoon-shi, you startled me," you caught your breath.
Hajoon just stood there.
"I'm sorry," you bowed, "did you need something?" you asked him.
"You are blocking my path," Hajoon said.
Now that was the Hajoon you knew. This one was totally different from the one you met last night.
You moved over and Hajoon walked pass you.
"Mr. Hajoon-shi," you called him.
Hajoon looked over his shoulder.
You quickly ran down to the step above him.
"Thank you...for last night," you said.
Hajoon looked at you, saying nothing.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" You asked him.
The question surprised Hajoon. No one had ever asked him that before.
"No," Hajoon said and with that, he continued his way down the steps.
•• ━━━━━ ••●•• ━━━━━ ••
As expected, his men had the man tied him down with a rope to a chair. Hajoon walked into the abandoned warehouse located miles away from the city.
"Boss, we have him tied down over there," the man pointed.
Hajoon looked over and saw that the man had been covered with an old brown bag. Hajoon walked in front of him, looked at the man before removing the bag.
The man adjusted his eyes, trying to get a good glimpse of Hajoon. A few bruises on his face didn't kill him.
"Why are you doing this to me?" the man cried.
"I should be asking you that. What do you want?" Hajoon asked, as he reached over for a gun from one of his men.
"What are you going to do? Kill me?" the man looked at Hajoon.
"I don't know how many times I have to tell Ricci. I guess he's really desperate. He's sending you guys for your death," Hajoon said.
Hajoon cocked the gun and pointed at the man.
"Tell me everything you know," Hajoon demanded.
The man breathed harder.
"I don't k-know who R-Ricci is," the man stuttered as he feared for his death.
"It doesn't have to end like this for you," Hajoon said, pointing the gun closer to the man.
"I really don't know who he is. Please believe me," the man begged.
"I will do anything you want me to do," the man offered in exchange for his life.
"I promise you. I wasn't there for you last night. I was sent to get the girl," the man told Hajoon.
Hajoon furrowed his brows. He was confused.
"What do you mean?" Hajoon asked.
"I...I was supposed to get the girl. I really don't know you."
"What does she have that you need?"
