It was March 24th 2018, a sunday, and a very special day for Mina for it was her 21st birthday. Even though it was the Japanese's birthday, she was never really excited for it, she never really saw the significance of it, being the pessimist she was had always seen birthdays as being another day with the only difference being you're a year closer to death. But ever since she met Chaeyoung, the cubs optimism had rubbed off on her and she was suddenly happy it was her birthday now that she has her baby to spend it with.

Chaeyoung on the other hand, was more excited to celebrate Mina's birthday than Mina was, she had already planned what she wanted to do with Mina today, except, it she was going to trick Mina that she forgot and surprise her at the end of the day, she had already planned and informed everybody about her plan. The only thing that wasn't planned was what she was going to get Mina, if it wasn't for that, she wouldn't have planned to forget Mina's birthday.

First up, pretend to forget Mina's birthday.

"Morning Chaengie" Mina said groggily, waking up with Chaeyoung in her arms

"Good morning unnie, are you okay? You never say good morning until after you brush your teeth" Chaeyoung smiled

"Today's a good day" Mina smiled

"Really? What is it?" Chaeyoung said, trying her absolute best to seem convincing, she hated lying, but she hated to lie to Mina even more, but she had to today.

"You don't remember?" Mina said, her smile fading

"No, what is it?" Chaeyoung said, already feeling guilty and wanting to hug Mina and reveal her plan

"Nevermind, it's nothing important anyway" Mina said, getting out of bed and getting into the bathroom, disappointment and sadness evident in her tone

Chaeyoung immediately felt guilty, but she needed to get Mina a gift and this was the only plan she could think of, she needed to get a gift, if not Mina would be disappointed in her. After the both of them had gotten ready and had breakfast, Mina and Chaeyoung were on the couch watching some drama. In the afternoon the cub had gotten changed and decided to leave to find a present for Mina, passing it off as an outing with her friends.

"Bye unnie, I'm going out with Dahyun unnie, Tzuyu and Somi today" Chaeyoung lied

"But... I wanted to spend the whole day with you..." Mina said out sadly, causing Chaeyoung to wince a little

"I'm sorry unnie but I promised her" Chaeyoung lied again

"Oh... It's okay then, go ahead, see you tonight Chaengie" Mina said, sad but understanding, still believing the cubs lies

Mina was alone in the house again, she was watching some drama but she wasn't paying attention to it, too sad to be entertained. She was instead mindlessly playing with Kimchi, the kittent trying to cheer up it's owner by playing with her. While playing, the door opened without Mina noticing. Mina looked up to see Sana, Momo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Jihyo standing there

"Mina-chan you okay there?" Sana asked

"Hm? Oh Hi guys, yeah I'm fine, why're you guys here?" Mina asked

"It's you're birthday remember? Let's go out" Momo said

"Who's cat is that?" Nayeon asked, petting it

"Oh, it's Chaeng's and mine, Chaeng found it somewhere and she wanted to keep it, her names Kimchi" Mina said, her voice blank

"Anyway, let's go out, it is your birthday" Jihyo exclaimed excitedly, trying to lift Mina's mood

"Go get changed, we'll wait here" Jeongyeon said, pushing Mina upsatirs

Little did Mina know, all 8 of her friends had known about Chaeyoung's plan, while Chaeyoung was out with Dahyun, Tzuyu and Somi trying to find a gift, the others would be with Mina to distract her with her sadness.
