Parting Hearts
Overwatch“So,” Hongbin scowled, “you’re really leaving.”
“You’re leaving, too,” Sana frowned, trying to figure out why Hongbin was so upset, “everyone is.”
“I mean,” he sighed, “you’re leaving and going off with your girls and we’re never going to see each other again.”
“Oh,” her eyes widened in realization, “oh.”
“Yeah.”
“I just,” Sana tried to figure out what she wanted to say, “I mean--.”
“I get it,” Hongbin sighed, “you need to do what’s best for you. I just hoped that……that maybe….” He sighed, “I wanted you to come with me.”
“Hongbin,” Sana moved forewords so that she could hug the other, “I’m sorry.”
“No you aren’t,” he said, returning the hug, “not really.”
“Sana!” Nayeon called from down the hall, “we’re leaving.”
“I’ve got to go,” she said sadly, pulling away from him.
“Be careful,” Hongbin told her, flashing a small smile.
“You, too,” Sana replied before she left.
Alone in the hallway, Hongbin found himself thinking about who things could have been different between him and Sana. Maybe if he had told her how he felt, she wouldn’t be leaving. Or maybe he’d be leaving with her. But he’d kept his feelings quiet and now it was too late to do anything. Unknown to Hongbin, Sana was thinking the same thoughts.
A/N: poor Hongbin and Sana. I feel kind of bad about this.
