Finding a Doctor
OverwatchHongbin scowled at the letter in his hands. He just……he couldn’t believe it. How the hell had he been rejected? He graduated top of his class from one of the world’s best medical programs. And yet he was being rejected from the best practice in the world. How the hell did that happen?
“Hongbin?” he heard his roommate calling from the living room, “can you come out here? There’s, um, someone who’d like to speak to you.”
Hongbin wasn’t sure what he’d expected when he went to see who his roommate was talking about, but it sure wasn’t a man business man and two soldiers.
“Um,” Hongbin blinked, “can I….help you….in some way?”
“Yes,” the business man smiled, “I’m Kim Junsu. These are my colleges, Park Yoochun and Kim Jaejoong.”
“Nice to meet you,” Hongbin said, still clearly trying to understand why the three were there.
“I’m just going to cut to the chase,” Yoochun said, “we are trying to put together a group to stop the Omnic Crisis.”
“Ok,” Hongbin nodded, “that’s a great goal, I totally support it and hope you succeed. But the question still remains……..why are you here? I’m a doctor. You sound like you need soldiers.”
“We need both,” Jaejoong grinned, “we’re looking for the best and brightest everything. Soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities.” He paused, “and doctors.”
“You’re the best and brightest,” Junsu smiled, “so naturally we want you.”
“And if I say no?” Hongbin asked, already making a mental list of all the pros and cons of joining this group.
“We’ll accept your answer and see if we can find someone who can fill your spot,” Yoochun explained, “but honestly, we really want you for this.”
“Can I think about it?” Hongbin questioned, “I mean, this is a big deal and……and I need to think about it.”
“Of course,” Junsu nodded, “in fact, we’d prefer it if you took the time to really think it over. This is, like you said, a big deal.”
The three left after giving Hongbin their contact information.
Two days later, Hongbin received a call from his aunt informing him that his parents had been killed by some radical anti-robot group. His parents had run a little clinic that treated both human and robotic patients. They were no strangers to radicals threatening them. In fact, that just made their determination to help everyone stronger. They wanted peace for all and now……..and now they had died because of that belief.
“Hello?” Junsu answered the phone.
“I’m in,” Hongbin said, “I’ll join your group and help end this war.”
A/N: I feel so bad for Hongbin right now. But at the same time…….this one worked out better than I could have hoped!! I mean, *sighs* I’m just so happy that this turned out so good~~~!
Also, I’m trying to figure out some other idols to be in Overwatch. I mentioned Sungjae of BtoB and Mark and Jackson of Got7 in ‘Hardest Day’, but anyone want to make a suggestion or two?
