~Chapter 23~

Goodbye, Hello

“So, how’s life?” Taehyung asked, rubbing the nape of his neck after he and Seohyun broke the hug awkwardly and began walking again.

Seohyun smiled seeing that he was doing that. After reading all about body language online, she learnt that doing that was often a sign of nervousness.

“Good thanks! Apart from stupid deadlines.” Seohyun answered, receiving a laugh from Taehyung who knew all about that kind of stuff.

“Yeah, they’re a pain in the . Is it a solo project?” Taehyung inquired.

Seohyun shook her head but was happy that someone took an interest in her life. “No, I’m doing it with Yoona, Joy and Sulli. It’s in for tomorrow.” She said, worryingly.

Taehyung nodded in understanding. “You should be fine, you’re like the perfect nerd group.” He commented casually, receiving a small nudge from Seohyun who laughed it off afterwards.

Seohyun was still curious in regards to Taehyung’s dating life. “Are you really going out with Hani?”

Seohyun didn’t mind Hani, but she wasn’t the nicest girl at school. She thought Taehyung could do so much better than that.

“Nah, I’m y, free and single,” Taehyung again joked. “I didn’t know she already had a boyfriend.” He added, sounding a little disappointed at the end.

Seohyun felt genuinely bad for Taehyung. The whole time she had known Taeyeon, she always heard about how his relationships never went well through her.

“I’m sure you’ll find someone!” Seohyun said with hope as they held eye contact for a few seconds without realising.

Their eye contact had lasted a little too long, so Taehyung broke it. “It’s a bit weird how we’re in the same dorm building, right?” he laughed a little.

In actual fact, Seohyun knew exactly why that had happened. Taeyeon had asked Sunny if she could get her uncle to put them all in the same building for ‘family reasons’… In other words, Taeyeon wanted to spy on her brother’s life. Sunny couldn’t just get her uncle to put Taehyung in the same dorm as them by himself though, so had to request that the whole of BTS was also put into the same building to avoid suspicion.

Seohyun tried her best to laugh with him, but it sounded forced. “Yeah… What are the chances?!” she said rather hysterically.

Taehyung could read Seohyun like a book. “Taeyeon did it, didn’t she?” he asked, raising an eyebrow to try and get it out of her.

Seohyun continued laughing hysterically. Why did she have to be so bad at lying? “No! Why would you say that!?” she said, getting flushed without realising.

Taehyung decided to let it go. He knew that Taeyeon had based on Seohyun’s reaction. “I believe you, Joohyun.” He said, smiling to avoid her from getting anymore embarrassed.

“Really!?” Seohyun asked, shocked that he believed her. “I mean, yes!” she corrected.

Taehyung couldn’t help but laugh at Seohyun’s silliness as she began feeling guilty for lying to him. She couldn’t help but tell the truth most of the time, but it backfired on her last time when Yoona told her that Yuri’s was fat, and of course, Seohyun told Yuri what Yoona had said, meaning they didn’t talk for several weeks.

Going down the last corridor before the two were going to leave through the automatic doors and take their final steps towards the new Lakeside district, the doors opened to two other people whose faces lit up when they saw Taehyung and Seohyun.

“Seohyun!” Yuri greeted brightly, running up to Seohyun and giving her a hug.

“Waah!” Taehyung shouted out of nowhere, joining the hug and pulling Jin into it as well who was reluctant.

Seohyun giggled a bit at Taehyung’s action.

Yuri tried to pull out of the hug. “Not this again!” she said when she realised that Taehyung was gripping her and Seohyun together tightly.

“Why are you with Yuri, hyung?” Taehyung asked as he still embraced them.

Jin patted Taehyung on the back to try and get him to let go. “We’re going to see if reception have Yuri’s purse-“

“Someone stole it.” Yuri added quickly, sounding frustrated and muffled.

Taehyung then let go, showing that Yuri was red with exhaustion and her hair was messed up.

“Wait, have you already decided on rooms, unnie?” Seohyun asked curiously with a hint of sadness.

Yuri soon recovered and looked at Taehyung weirdly. She already knew he was strange, so he didn’t catch her off guard. “Only Hyo and me have been in so far and picked one. The rooms are so nice! I’d go quickly before the others pick the better ones.”

“Thanks, unnie!” Seohyun said relieved as she was about to go with Taehyung. Seohyun was just as excited as Yoona was to see the new dorms but just didn’t want to show it.

“By the way, is Naeun doing OK
