Jungkook and Seohyun then went to the front door as Mrs Seo remained in the kitchen, putting her soup in the microwave to heat up, and Naeun’s in the bin as it was unlikely she’d be leaving her room for a while.
“Why are you being so nice?” Seohyun asked, trying to find the right key to unlock the door with.
Jungkook smirked, checking out Seohyun’s physique as she went in her bag. “I am nice.” He replied, tempted to grab Seohyun’s again, but restricting himself so that he could get on better terms with her.
Seohyun then found the key and then put it in the door to unlock it. “It’s scary.” Seohyun retorted, receiving a small laugh from Jungkook. Opening the door the two were greeted by appalling weather.
Seohyun turned to face Jungkook. “Well, have a nice walk.” She said jokily.
“I can’t walk back in that!” Jungkook protested, his voice going abnormally high pitched compared to his usual deep voice.
Jungkook didn’t know where he would actually go. He had the choice of going back to his dorm where he would be faced by his hyungs, or going back to his family house. Neither options seemed good to him, especially when the weather wasn’t that great, and Jimin would probably keep pestering him to give him details about Seohyun.
Seohyun pulled a sad expression childishly. “Awww, is little Jungkook going to get cold?” Seohyun replied, despite knowing that she herself would never go out in weather like this. She liked getting her own back too much though.
Jungkook knew that he’d have to go back to his house if he wanted some peace. “Fine.” He said coldly. He wasn’t in a bad mood with Seohyun as he knew he couldn’t stay, but he just didn’t want to face his father or mother right now.
Leaving the house and entering the rain, Jungkook began walking at a normal pace to his house. Seohyun watched as he left down the path and was getting soaked in the rain which was ten times worse than the rain that he had stood in earlier. She felt very guilty. Mrs Seo then emerged from the hallways as she heard Jungkook’s high pitched protest from before.
“Seo Joohyun, did you just let Jungkook go out in that?!” she asked scolding her, knowing that she probably had judging by the open door. She only used Seohyun’s full name when she was incredibly annoyed. She had not noticed the bad weather before.
“Yes.” Seohyun replied, looking down knowing that it wasn’t nice to have done that. Seohyun’s mother raised her and Naeun well enough to the point where both of their behaviours were impeccable, and although Naeun was a bit off track at the moment, Seohyun was like the perfect daughter.
Mrs Seo then poked put her head out of the door and began calling Jungkook who was leaving the end of the path. Not receiving a reply, Seohyun’s mother made Seohyun do the right thing without saying anything.
Seohyun put on her shoes and ran out in the rain to catch up to Jungkook who had turned left on the pavement.
Getting pelted by hard rain, Jungkook was walking back, wondering how he could possibly enter his house without being noticed. His father would probably shout out him for no apparent reason if he did, so they would probably argue. He didn’t want to burden the Seo family any longer. Hearing a faint voice which sounded like Seohyun’s calling his name, he was tempted to turn and see if that was the case, but thinking that it probably wasn’t he continued walking.
Seohyun was getting out of breath as Jungkook continued at a faster pace than before it seemed. Finally catching up half a block later, Seohyun tapped his shoulder which caused the latter to turn quickly and raise his fists as he had expected it to be
