{CHAPTER 30}

Kris stayed in his study room after 9pm because he let Eun Kyung use his, it wouldn’t be polite if he were to continue to stay in that room with her. It would be awkward and there would be tension hanging between them. 

He shook his head to brush everything aside. He buried himself into his work, not wanting to remember that he had brought the mother of his child back to his place. A lot was in his head, he didn’t want to add anymore to that little bubble of problems in his head, at least it bursts one day.

Knock knock.

A quiet knock sounded on the door and Kris straightened his back. He thought he was hearing things and was about to get back to his work when the knocking sounded again. But this time, a small voice accompanied the knockings.

Kris, are you still awake?

Kris’ raised his eyebrows and glanced towards the clock on his study desk. 12.34am. Shouldn’t she be sleeping by now? Kris thought.

Kris? Are you asleep?

Eun Kyung asked again. Kris stood up and walked towards his door. He opened the door quietly, not wanting to wake his grandma, to answer Eun Kyung and he saw her already walking back to her room. He saw her leaning against the wall, her hand on her head.

Kris ran up to Eun Kyung and held onto her. “Are you okay?” He asked. The girl looked up at him sheepishly and said, “I’m hungry.” Kris couldn’t help but smile at the girl. “Hungry? I thought you ate at 8?” Kris said tauntingly. Eun Kyung pouted and said, “I don’t know okay, I’m just hungry.”

Junior’s hungry. Kris thought and told Eun Kyung to go into the room as he went to whip something simple up for her.

After 10 minutes, Kris came up with a tray of food and entered his own room. Setting the tray down on the bedside table, he sat on the bed and tried to feed the anticipating Eun Kyung. She dodged him at first, but after he insisted on feeding her, she obliged.
