No one's POV: 

"Y-you don't have to do this" Kyungsoo said as he and Yixing got about to picking leftover pasta from his hair and drying his jumper on the radiator in the bathroom 
"Of course I do, you're my friend" Yixing replied and Kyungsoo let out a shaky breath 
"T-they never have anything better to do" he said, letting out a laugh whilst Yixing sighed 
"You don't have to put up this act anymore. It's just me" he said and Kyungsoo bit his lip before shaking his head.

"I-I just need time to calm down" he said and got back to cleaning himself up, Yixing sighing before going back to help him... why was he being like this?

"Right Jongin, now you can explain your side of the story" headmaster Park said, turning to said guy. When Jongin and the guy who spilt his lunch first arrived at the headmaster's office with Joonmyeon, the headmaster had to double take when he saw the state of them; they had lumpy lips, bruises forming around their body and their uniform was all over the place! When they turned up, the headmaster demanded to know what the hell happened... only to be met with shouting from the two boys and Joonmyeon having to step back so he wouldn't get him by their arms waving about. 

After managing to calm them down, the headmaster had managed to get the guy who tipped his food onto Kyungsoo to talk first without Jongin interrupting him. He told the headmaster that he 'accidently' slipped on some drink that was spilt on the floor and the tray with the food and drink fell onto Kyungsoo before he could stop it. Jongin got the wrong idea and started beating him up before he could explain himself. Jongin tried to interrupt plenty of times during the speech but the headmaster wouldn't let him speak until he was finally given his chance to speak. 

"He didn't trip" he began angirly 
"He walked over with his friend, tipped it onto Kyungsoo and said 'oopsie' as he did so before laughing" he finished and heamdaster Park sighed 
"Was there any need to start fighting?" he asked. 

"He threw the first punch" the guy said, pointing to Jongin 
"He called Kyungsoo a . Kyungsoo wouldn't defend himself so I did instead" Jongin replied and again the headmaster sighed 
"Mr Kim, can you go find Kyungsoo for me and bring him here, I want to hear his side of the story" he said and with that Joonmyeon nodded, exiting the room.

"Are you sure it's all gone?" Kyungsoo asked, he and Yixing walking down the hall 
"I promise it's gone" Yixing replied and Kyungsoo nodded before they fell into a silence. With that, Yixing bit his lip before speaking again 
"You like someone... don't you?" he asked and there was a pause before Kyungsoo started speaking again 
"What makes you think that?" he asked, making Yixing sigh and stopped walking. 

"I'm not dumb Soo" he said and Kyungsoo's gaze dropped to the floor 
"You won't tell him... will you?" he asked and Yixing shook his head 
"Of course not, I'll leave it to you to tell him in your own time" Yixing replied and Kyungsoo shook his head 
"That won't be happening anytime soon" and started down the hall again, Yixing frowning before he went to catch up with him. 

"Why not?" he asked and Kyungsoo shook his head again 
"He's my best friend... if I tell him he'll only reject me and then it'll become so awkward between the two of us!" he replied 
"But-" Yixing began before they bumped into Joonmyeon 
"Headmaster Park needs to see you Kyungsoo" he said and Kyungsoo nodded, walking to the headmaster's office with Yixing who wasn't finished with him just yet.

"Come in" came headmaster Park's voice and Kyungsoo walked in. Seeing Yixing in the doorway, the headmaster signaled for him to come in 
"Take Jongin to the nurse's office. When he's done Junhong will go" he said and Yixing nodded, waiting for Jongin to get up before they walked to the medical room. 

.....

"You're such an idiot" was the first thing Yixing said after the nurse was finished with Jongin
"I know" Jongin replied and Yixing shook his head 
"Why couldn't you just leave him alone like Kyungsoo said to?" he asked 
"Because" Jongin replied 
"Because?" but Yixing wasn't getting an answer out of him and he sighed, the two of them walking back to the headmaster's office to find out what was going to happen to Jongin. 

.....

"You know I expect better from you" headmaster Park began, Jongin standing in his office, Kyungsoo and Yixing waiting outside 
"You're lucky I'm not suspending you nor Junhong" he continued 
"But you will be serving three weeks worth of after school detentions. The both of you. I've spoken to your parents about this and they think that this is appropriate, do you understand?" he finished 
"Yes sir" Jongin muttered and with that was dismissed from the office. 

With five minutes to go until the end of the day, Yixing said goodbye to him and Kyungsoo and went to sit in the office to wait to go home. Meanwhile Jongin walked with Kyungsoo as he had done everyday so far
"My mum is going to kill me when I get home" Jongin said, looking at his reflection in a car window 
"Just be glad it's not because you've been expelled" Kyungsoo replied and the two of them started walking again.

Usually, the two of them would walk home telling jokes or doing something stupid to embarrass the other in front of complete strangers. But today it was really quiet and neither of them spoke. It wasn't until the two came to a crossing where Kyungsoo would turn right and Jongin would keep going did Kyungsoo throw his arms around Jongin's waist and hug him. 

"Thank you" he said and Jongin stood there with his eyes widened before he hugged Kyungsoo back 
"You're my best friend, that's what friend do" he replied, making Kyungsoo's heart drop as they broke the hug, Kyungsoo shooting Jongin a smile before hurrying down the road towards his house...
