Sea Souls: Water GodSehun slept on board the ship with Lay and Luhan. Curled up on his cot, Luhan looked over his friend before reaching out to gently shake the siren’s shoulder, “Sehun. Wake up.”
The younger man stirred and turned his head in the direction of Luhan’s voice as he let out a soft moan.
“As much as it must pain you to get up so early, aren’t people expecting you in the palace or something?” Luhan shook his harder but had his hand swatted away by Sehun who merely rolled over.
“I’m getting up.” He muttered just so Luhan could leave him alone.
“Whatever.”
Luhan went up to check on Taura and Doria knowing that’s where Lay probably was. They had yet to inform the girls about what Sehun had shared with them the night before. Taura didn’t even know that Sehun was on board. The three men had spent most of the night trying to come up with a plan that would keep both girls out of the hands of whoever was planning to raid their ship.
One plan was to just have Taura return to the palace with Sehun and for the guys to keep close tabs on whatever and wherever the princess was. Sehun didn’t agree with it because it was better if they were under the impression Taura wasn’t in the city.
The second idea was for Taura to return to Talya and stay there for the time being until they left Genevie but again that was something Sehun didn’t not find fitting. If his mother was giving her more potions to take for whatever reason, it didn’t sit well with him.
The third and last option was to just hide the two girls in the city but they just didn’t know where.
Luhan knocked softly on the door before entering, seeing that Lay was checking on Doria who was wide awake and chatting up a storm with the medic.
“Good morning.” Doria looked around Lay to see the new visitor who acknowledged the girl before going over to Taura.
“Don’t wake her yet,” Lay whispered to the other sailor as he finished up with Doria, “wait until Sehun leaves.”
Luhan looked to Lay with a raised brow, he didn’t quite understand Lay’s reasoning. Before the latter could give his explanation the door opened quietly as the prince entered. Luhan stepped back from Taura while Lay watched Sehun first greet Doria.
“You okay?” Sehun asked seeing as new bandages and band aids has been places sporadically all over Doria’s body. He kept his eyes down to the white sheets while Doria shuffled under them.
“Doing better thanks to Lay.” She beamed at the man behind Sehun who returned the smile.
“That’s good to hear.” Sehun muttered, glancing over his shoulder. Doria could tell where his attention laid and thought just how lucky Taura must be to be surrounded by so many people that cared for her. They bid their goodbyes to each other while Doria got out of bed with the help of Luhan.
Sehun went to Taura and saw she was in the same position he left her last night. He reached out to her hair but Lay’s voice stopped him, “What do you think we should do?”
“Keep her on the ship, just keep watch and if anyone comes hide them down below deck in one the long empty crates but I’ll tell the others when I get back so Kris and them will be here to help.” Sehun took one last look at Taura’s sleeping face before he headed for the door.
Stepping out, Lay followed him, “You be safe out there too.”
The prince turned to his friend. Lay always was one to express his care towards the others and Sehun admired that about his friend. It was something Sehun always had trouble doing. “I will.”
*~*~*~*~*~*
There was much questioning once Sehun returned the palace. Destan asked where the prince had gone so early in the morning and why he would go alone. Sehun only said he needed to go for a walk which seemed to suffice for the young man but Kai and Kris were not pleased with his response. They’d pulled him aside to scold him in hushed voices. Kai seemed to be more angry than Kris.
“Where did you go so late?”
“I had to make sure Taura and the girl were okay.” Sehun shoved his hands into his pockets while trying to remain calm. He didn’t like bein
