:: Waiting for The Right Time ::

 

At HyoHyun apartment

 

“Honey, what do you think about this one?,” Seohyun asked while her index finger pointing at the wedding gown photo on the magazine she was reading through. She didn’t hear any response as the bedroom was quiet. She turned to look at her fiance, and shook her head when she found that Hyoyeon has fallen asleep with a laptop on his lap.

 

“Aigoo.. He should stop working hard when our wedding is just few months away,” she mumbles while putting aside the magazine, and scooted closer to her fiance. She carefully took off his glasses, but it causing the latter startled and slowly opened his tired eyes.

 

“Oh sorry, I fell asleep,” he said as while closing his laptop lid.

 

“If you’re sleepy then just go to sleep, honey ah. You can continue your work on tomorrow,” Seohyun suggested.

 

“I have a presentation with my client on tomorrow, babe. I need to finish this slide presentation by tonight,” he replied while yawning.

 

“Do you want me to help you? I can check the slides, and maybe you can add on what you want to add later,” she asked as she offers some help. Hyoyeon just shook his head.

 

“It’s okay, babe. There are few more slides to add on, and thank you for your offer. That’s very nice of you,” he replied as he smiled.

 

“I’m concern about you, honey ah. You looked so tired lately. Should I buy you some vitamins?,” she said. Hyoyeon just shook his head.

 

“It’s okay. Your love is my vitamin and that would be enough,” he replied as he grinned. Seohyun’s hand quickly slapped on his arm, causing the latter chuckled.

 

“That, Mr. Cheesy Weezy, is not a vitamin. You should consume some food supplements for your health,” she said in serious tone.

 

“Dae, Juhyun seonsaengnim,” Hyoyeon teasingly said as he bowed. Seohyun just shook her head and rolled her eyes before she took the magazine back and read it through.

 

“I think I heard your voice asking me on something in between my sleep earlier. Did you really ask me on something?,” Hyoyeon asked.

 

“Yes, my dear. I was about to ask your opinion about the wedding dress here,” she replied as she pointed on the wedding dress photo in the magazine. Hyoyeon tilted his head to look at the magazine.

 

“That’s too revealing, babe. I don’t want all men in the wedding hall will have their eyes on you,” Hyoyeon stated his opinion. Seohyun chuckled on his words.

 

“Well, they can have their eyes on me, but I will belongs to you forever, you know,” she said as she smiled sweetly to her fiance. She really loved the overprotective side of him.

 

“My answer is no. Just look for another wedding dress that is not too revealing,” Hyoyeon replied with a straight face while continue focusing on his laptop screen. Seohyun just chuckled and keep on looking through the photos of wedding dress collection on the magazine. Her eyes then glued to the wedding dress which really catching her attention.

 

“Honey, what about this one? It’s not too revealing, have a very simple design yet it looks beautiful,” she said while pointing at the photo. Hyoyeon tilted his head again and immediately looked at the photo.

 

“I like that one. It can show a pure and beautiful side of the bride whom will wearing it, including you, my love,” Hyoyeon said as he grinned. Seohyun chuckled and slapped on his arm again.

 

“Why are you so cheesy tonight, huh?,” she asked.

 

“Maybe I ate cheese too much lately. But, you like it, don’t you?,” Hyoyeon said with a smirk. Seohyun laughed as she slapped his arm for an umpteeth time, causing Hyoyeon yelped in pain.

 

“I think my arm will get a bruise later.. Aishh..,” he said while rubbing his right arm. Seohyun leaned closer and pecked on his cheek.

 

“There. I’m sorry, okay? But, it’s all your fault for making me unconsciously slapping your arm,” she replied as she pouted. Hyoyeon furrowed his brows in confused.

 

“Why is it my fault anyway? I didn’t do anything wrong,” he exclaimed. Seohyun just chuckled and put the magazine aside. She scooted closer and wrapping her arms around Hyoyeon’s waist. She leaned her head on his shoulder.

 

“I’m just joking, though. You are like being so cheesy tonight, and it really causing me goosebumps, you know,” she said.

 

“You know I’m a straightforward guy, right? And I don’t like to lie,” he replied.

 

“Yes, Mr. Straightforward. Just finish your work and then we can hit the bed later,” she said. Hyoyeon just chuckled and continued with his work.

 

After an hour, he finally finished preparing his slide presentation. He yawned while closing the laptop lid, and put it on the table. He then felt his right shoulder was getting heavier when his beloved fiancee was already in her dreamland. He smiled and caressing her head using his right hand.

 

“Babe, let’s get inside the room to sleep,” he said and patted gently on her head. Seohyun startled with a sudden touch, and slowly opened her tired eyes.

 

“Carry me. I’m too sleepy to walk,” she weakly replied. Hyoyeon chuckled and shook his head, knowing that sometimes his fiancee loves to act cheekily with him.

 

“Arasso, as you wish,” he said as he got up from the couch, and slipped his arms under her legs and upper body. “Gosh, since when you have gained weight, babe?,” he said as he grunted, struggled to lift her up and carried her in his arms.

 

“I’m not. It’s you who become weaker lately. I asked you to eat vitamins but you refused. I’m going to make sure you will eat them later,” she replied while throwing her arms around his neck and wrapped it securely. Hyoyeon just rolled his eyes annoyingly, knowing that his fiancee likes to nagging about his health being. He then carried his beloved princess into the bedroom.

“Having a cold feet again?,” a gruff voice suddenly being heard, causing Hyoyeon snapped out of his thought.

 

“Hyung! It’s good to see you again!,” Hyoyeon cheerfully greeted the guy he called ‘hyung’. The friend that sticks closer like a brother is no other that Eunhyuk, his late wife’s best friend’s husband, Min. The two men giving each other a brief hug and then took their respective seats.

 

Hyoyeon invited Eunhyuk to have a coffee after his proposal presentation to his client, and fortunately he was having a free time, so he agreed to meet his favorite dongsaeng at the cafe nearby Hyoyeon’s office.

 

“I would like to have Hazelnut Latte and Chocolate Lava cake, thank you,” Eunhyuk placed his order. The waiter jotted down the order and excused himself to the counter.

 

“How’s your life with your fiancee?,” Eunhyuk asked.

 

“Everything is great, hyung. Just a couple of months left, and we are going to get married soon,” he replied as he smiled.

 

“So, what’s the problem?,” he asked in concern. He could sense Hyoyeon was about to share with him about his unsettled feelings.

 

“I just wonder if I’m doing the right thing,” he said. Eunhyuk was about to reply when suddenly the waiter came and brought the food and drinks he ordered earlier. He thanked the waiter before he left their table.

 

“What else to wonder, Hyo ah? I know you will be like this. Remember when you told me the same thing before you get married with Nicole?,” he replied. “She’s the right one for you. I know she couldn’t replace Nicole, but I’m sure she loves you for who you are, and having the thought that she accepted you although she knew you are a widower, what else is not enough, huh?,” Eunhyuk replied as he sipped his Hazelnut Latte.

 

“Yeah. You’re right, hyung. It’s me. It’s me who sometimes lacking of self confidence. You know, Seo Juhyun is beyond perfect, in fact too perfect for me. I feel so small whenever I’m around her. That’s why sometimes I keep on questioning myself, “Is she really loves me? Or, is she just accept me because she feels pity on me?”,” Hyoyeon said.

 

“Aigoo.. Just stop thinking nonsense, Hyo. You two look great together. Min also said the same thing, you know,” Eunhyuk replied.

 

“Chincha? She said the same?,” Hyoyeon asked. Eunhyuk nodded and smiled.

 

“Yes, you pabo! Have a confidence. You’re soon-to-be a husband again, and later on to be a father of your own child. How are you going to raise your child if you lack of self confidence? You need to be strong as a head of your own family, you know,” Eunhyuk giving him a peace of mind.

 

“This is why I love you, hyung. You are like a life guru to me. I don’t know what would I have to do without you and Min. You guys are really like my family,” Hyoyeon earnestly said.

 

“Don’t mention, Hyo. You know I always regard you as my own dongsaeng as I don’t have younger siblings. I know you’re having a cold feet again. That’s why I cleared my schedule this afternoon just to give a support to my dongsaeng,” Eunhyuk replied.

 

“Aww! I’m touched, hyung! Let’s have a drink at my club whenever you’re free. I know Min will not let you being free all the time, but you need to let loose sometimes, hyung,” Hyoyeon said causing Eunhyuk laughed over his words.

 

“Just wait till you have your own child. I wonder whether Seohyun will let you being free or not,” he replied as he chuckled.

 

“Aishh.. Don’t mention. I know she won’t. In fact, she often scolded me for not following her words like yesterday. She asked me to take some vitamins because I looked tired for the past few weeks. I think I might selling my club to someone else after we have a child later,” he said as he laughed. Eunhyuk joined him laughing.

 

“Yeah. There are lots of things we have to sacrifice when we get married and having children. We also need to show a good example to our children. Being parents is not hard if you know how to take care of your children. I’m not that strict to them, but Min, yes. You know, I seldom got a chance to spend my time at home with the kids since sometimes I have to work until late at night, but I’m glad that Min willingly to quit because she wanted to take care our kids on her own,” he replied.

 

“Thanks for the tips, hyung. I will make sure that you two will always become my family guru,” Hyoyeon said.

 

“Ya, I’m not a guru, though. I just shared my life experience to you, so you can be a better person, a husband and a father later,” Eunhyuk replied as he laughed. The two men then continued chatting on random things before it’s about the time for them to go back home.

“Hey, babe!,” Hyoyeon greeted his fiancee the moment she almost reached to the car.

 

“Hey, honey! How’s your presentation?,” Seohyun replied as she leaned closer and pecked Hyoyeon’s lips. Hyoyeon then opened the car’s door for her to let her in first and closed it immediately before he rushed to the driver’s side.

 

“The presentation went well. The client satisfied with the proposal and they agreed to sign the contract. So, let’s celebrate for that. Want to have a dinner at the place I have recommended to you last time? We can play games before eating our dinner,” Hyoyeon said.

 

“Yeah, I’d love to. It’s freezing cold today, and we can warm up first before recharge our energy,” she replied.

 

“What are you doing at home while I’m not around?,” Hyoyeon asked while his eyes keep on focusing on the road.

 

“Nothing much. After you left to work I just continued sleeping. Then I got up around 1.00 p.m., washing up and cooked for lunch,” she replied.

 

Seohyun took her leave for six months to make preparation on her wedding and she was considering to work from home. Only her staffs left in the office, and she has already appointed her PA to acting as a manager, and on behalf of her.

 

“What did you cook for lunch?,” he asked.

 

“Soondubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), gyeran mari (rolled omelette), and kimchi fried rice,” she replied.

 

“That sounds delicious. I suddenly feel hungry. Can we skip playing the games and eat first instead?,” Hyoyeon suggested.

 

“Are you that hungry?,” she asked. Hyoyeon nodded and pouted. Seohyun chuckled and shook her head.

 

“Arasso. We can play games after dinner,” she said. Hyoyeon grinned and cheered up. Seohyun just chuckled as she found her fiance sometimes can be so childish.

“I like this place, honey. It looks so nice and cozy here,” Seohyun said the moment they entered the restaurant. There were not many customers at the moment since they came a bit early, and probably people preferred to eat at home since the weather was so cold on that day.

 

“Yeah. It got a good review from the customers. That’s why I want to try their food here,” Hyoyeon replied. Right after they entered inside, they were greeted by the restaurant staff.

 

“Annyeonghaseyo! Welcome! May I know how many persons, Sir?,” the staff asked.

 

“Two only,” Hyoyeon replied. The staff then led the couple to the vacant table which is near to the games area. Hyoyeon immediately pulled the chair for Seohyun, and the latter thanked him before he went to his seat. After the staff taking their orders, the couple then turned their head towards the games area.

 

“I want to play that game after dinner. It looks fun,” she said while pointing at the arcade machines. Hyoyeon just smiled after hearing her said.

 

“You can play any games you want, babe,” he replied. Seohyun grinned childishly at her fiance. The couple then chatting on random things while waiting for their food and drinks to be served. Twenty minutes later, the staff slowly approaching their table and served them with the food and drinks they ordered earlier.

 

“Jalmeokgesseumnida!,” the couple chorused in sync and started devouring their food.

 

“Ya, I have to agree with the customers review, though. This steak is seriously delicious!,” Hyoyeon said.

 

“Chincha? Can I taste some?,” Seohyun asked in eagerness.

 

“Sure, babe. Wait,” Hyoyeon replied as he cut some steak and carried the fork into Seohyun’s mouth. The latter opened and immediately eat the small piece of the steak. Her eyes grew wider as she munching the steak.

 

“How was it?,” Hyoyeon asked. Seohyun bobbed her head up and down and gives a thumbs up.

 

“The meat melts in my mouth the moment I munching it. The taste is superb, honey. The chef marinated the meat well. I wonder what kind of herbs and spices they used. The taste is so good,” she replied as she compliments.

 

“I heard they used spices and herbs which they planted at their own backyard garden,” he said.

 

“Chincha? Wow! Interesting!,” she replied. She then cut some of her egg sandwich and carried the fork into her fiance’s mouth. Hyoyeon gladly opened his mouth and munching the small cut of the sandwich.

 

“Hmm.. this sandwich tastes good, babe. I love how they made the bread crispy but not too hard to eat. And, the egg, I think they used the same spices, it’s like a signature tastes of their food here,” Hyoyeon commented.

 

“Yeah, I think so,” she replied. The couple then continued eating the dinner while chatting on random things.

After having dinner, Seohyun and Hyoyeon went to the games area and the couple played some of arcade games available there. They were really enjoyed their fun time there, and after playing for almost an hour, they decided to halt their fun activities, and went back to their table to get some drinks and dessert.

 

“Thank you,” they thanked the staff in unison. Hyoyeon ordered a hot black coffee, while Seohyun ordered a hot roasted barley tea. They shared the same dessert which is a piece of strawberry cheesecake.

 

“I like this place. Everything is good. No wonder it were highly recommended by their customers,” Seohyun said after sipping her tea.

 

“Yeah, I know. You have said that before. Do you want to come again some other time? It can be our favorite dating spot,” Hyoyeon replied as he suggested.

 

“Why not? We can have our date here even after we get married. Parents can bring their kids too. They also provide children play area here which is very convenient for a family to dine here,” Seohyun said.

 

“Yeah. We can bring our future child too. Ermm.. speaking of a child, do you have in mind on how many children you want?,” Hyoyeon asked. Seohyun raised her brows as she was surprised with her fiance sudden question. But then she smiled, knowing that Hyoyeon likes playing with his friend's children nowadays.

 

“You know I’m the only child in my family, and I hope in the future I can have my own children more than one,” she sheepishly replied. Hyoyeon chuckled on her words.

 

“How about like a soccer team?,” he purposely teasing her.

 

“Yah! I’m not a factory, though! Two or three are enough,” she exclaimed while glaring at the latter. Hyoyeon just laughed on her act as he found it cute. He likes to tease his beloved fiancee nowadays.

 

“I’m just joking, babe. Alright, two or three kids are nice too. Our kids will never feel alone because they will have siblings to play with, and to look after one another,” he said.

 

“That’s very sweet to hear from you,” Seohyun replied. Deep down in her heart, she never feel regret to fall in love and soon to be married to the right guy. Hyoyeon indeed is a man with a vision. She loved on how he honestly voiced out his thought about family planning although they are not married yet. She knew Hyoyeon is a man of his word that she can put her highly trust and love, although he can be a dork sometimes. She then cut a small piece of the strawberry cheesecake with a spoon, and carried it into his mouth. Hyoyeon gladly opened his mouth and eat the cake.

 

“Ya, this cake tastes so rich. I love on how they made it not too sweet. I don’t really like eating sweet cake,” he said as he compliments.

 

“Chincha?,” Seohyun replied as she cut some, and shoved the spoon into . Her eyes widened and she nodded in agreement.

 

“You’re right, honey. I don’t like sweet food too, but I can finish this one at anytime,” she said as she cuts another piece and feed him.

 

“You know what? I heard they also provide a service for catering and making wedding cake. Do you want to engage them to serve food and beverages for our wedding reception party? I can talk to their manager if you want to,” Hyoyeon replied as he suggested.

 

“Chincha? I would love to, honey. We can make an appointment with them, and ask them to arrange a food testing,” Seohyun added.

 

“Arasso. Case settled. We both agreed on the same thing. I really love this, babe,” Hyoyeon said as he smiled widely, feeling satisfied with their mutual understanding. Seohyun couldn’t help but to smile and nodded at the same time.

 

“There’s only one thing left. My wedding dress and your tux. We need to find a wedding boutique which can make the wedding dress and tux comfortably,” she said.

 

“Why don’t you try to contact the one that you looked on the magazine last night?,” he suggested.

 

“Chincha? I can contact them. They are a well-known designers, honey. I’m sure the cost will be expensive,” she replied hesitantly. Hyoyeon just smiled, knowing that his fiance was very strict when it comes on managing the budget.

 

“Don’t worry, babe. Just give them a call and mention my name. I know them well. We used to work together for their company’s advertising. I’m sure they can give us a good deal,” Hyoyeon said.

 

“Chincha? What else you don’t know, huh? You know that I love you for that,” Seohyun replied, causing Hyoyeon chuckled with her words.

 

“Only for that? What about all this while and in the future?,” Hyoyeon asked in a joking manner, but deep down in his heart, he wanted to know her truthful feelings on him.

 

“Of course I love you for who you are. I’m not doing this if I don’t love you, you know. If I could, I want to settle all these preparation as soon as possible so that we can have our wedding ceremony, and we can be officially a married couple. I’m just waiting for the right time,” she replied earnestly.

 

“Seo Juhyun, saranghae!,” Hyoyeon said while putting his both hands on top of his head forming a love sign and grinning like a small kid. Seohyun laughed and did the same gesture as he did.

 

“Let’s go home now. You need to work on tomorrow, and I need to do lot of things for our wedding preparation,” she said while getting up from her seat, and extended her hand to him.

 

“Arasso,” Hyoyeon replied and grabbed her hand while getting up from his seat. The couple then walking hand in hand to the cashier counter and Hyoyeon took out his card to pay the bills. They left the restaurant and heading towards the parking lot while side hugging each other as the weather on that night was getting cold.
