Silver lining - Part 1

 

“So-Sooyoungie?”, she mumbled the name. “W-what is he doing with.. Jessica ssi?”, she mumbled again. The view of her boyfriend and Jessica feeding with each other, and sometimes stealing kisses has made her more curious, and shattered her heart into pieces. She decided to approach them as she slowly walked to their table. She wanted to confront with Sooyoung.

 

“Y-youngie?”, Seohyun called him which caused the latter jumped off from his seat as he was surprised.

 

“Oh, crap!”

 

He quickly got up from the chair and approached the latter.

 

“H-hyunnie? W-what are you doing here?”, he said nervously. He could see through her eyes that she’s hurt.

 

“I.. I have a lunch meeting with my client”, Seohyun said while glancing at Jessica. The latter on the other hand was sat frozen on her seat, hung her head low as she felt a sudden twinge of guilt. “I think.. I’ve to go now”, she said as she quickly walked away. Sooyoung managed to grab her arm which makes the latter stopped walking.

 

“H-hyunnie, wait! C-can we have a talk for a minute? Please?”, Sooyoung pleaded. He wanted to clear things up between him with Seohyun as he couldn’t hold it any longer. Sooner or later, Seohyun will find out about him and Jessica. Seohyun then let out a heavy sigh.

 

“Okay”, she replied in short. Sooyoung immediately released his hand from her arm, and walked towards Jessica.

 

“Babe, can you please wait here for a while? I need to talk with Seohyun. I’ll be back soon, okay?”, Sooyoung said. Jessica just nodded her head and smiled faintly. Deep down in her heart, she felt nervous and scared to think of what will going to happen between Sooyoung and Seohyun later. She just watched her lover and Seohyun slowly walking out of the restaurant. Without they realized, Yuri, Yoona and Hyoyeon were eyeing them with confusion.

 

With Yuri and Yoona

 

“Oh man! Soo got busted with his girlfriend.. tsk.. tsk”, Yuri mumbled slowly, but loud enough for Yoona to hear.

 

“He got busted? With whom?”, Yoona said as she leaned closer to Yuri.

 

“His girlfriend”, Yuri replied. Yoona’s eyes widened.

 

“His girlfriend? You mean, the girl who was walking beside him just now?”, Yoona asked.

 

“Yes, baby. She’s Sooyoung’s girlfriend”, Yuri replied as he turned back and continue to eat his food.

 

“Jinja? I thought Jessica is his girlfriend”, Yoona said.

 

“His girlfriend before Jessica”, Yuri said while munching his food.

 

“Baby, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. You mean, Sooyoung is cheating on her?”, Yoona asked as she was still in confusion.

 

“Ermm.. how do I have to explain this to you?”, he mumbled as he scratched his head. “Sooyoung's actually had a crush on Jessica long time ago. But, at that time, Jessica’s already had a boyfriend, so, he just kept inside, and love her from afar. Before Jessica broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Sooyoung met Seohyun, and he tried to fall in love with her as to distract his mind from thinking about Jessica”, Yuri explained to his girlfriend. Yoona nodded her head as she understands on Yuri’s explanation.

 

“So, that means, he never told Seohyun about Jessica, right?”, Yoona said.

 

“Hmm.. kind of. Wow, you sound like private investigator, babe. A y one..hehehe..”, Yuri chuckled which earns a smack on his arm.

 

“ert!”, Yoona said as she glared at him. Yuri just giggled while continue eating his food.

 

Meanwhile, with Hyoyeon

 

“Where is she heading to? And, who’s that taller guy? Why is she following him? Did she know him?”, Hyoyeon mumbled as too many questions clouded on his mind at the moment. His eyes still following to where Seohyun and Sooyoung were heading.

 

“Should I follow her? Haishh.. Seo.. what is happening with you?”, he mumbled again as he scratched his head, not knowing what to do. He decided just to wait for Seohyun.

 

With SooSeo, outside the restaurant

 

Sooyoung led Seohyun to sit on the bench at the restaurant’s small garden. Sooyoung was so nervous as he didn’t dare to look at Seohyun. He knew Seohyun was mad at him. He then let out a heavy sigh, and cleared his throat before he started to speak.

 

“H-Hyunnie, I’m so sorry for not telling you the truth about me. I’ve been hiding something from you all this while. But, please don’t get me wrong”, he paused before he continued.

 

“I have a crush on Jessica.. a long time ago. At first, I thought it’s not important to tell you because I would never expected that Jessica and I have a mutual feelings. I.. I fell in love with her the first time I met her, Hyunnie. But, she’s already had a boyfriend at that time. So, I just kept my feeling inside, and just regarded her as a friend. Then, I met you. I tried to fall in love with you, tried to escape myself from develop my feelings towards Jessica more deeply. But, it seemed like I can’t get her out of my mind, and my heart, Hyunnie. Until the day she told me that she had already broke up with her boyfriend because she had fallen in love with me. I really want to tell you about me and her, Hyunnie. But, I don’t know how..”, Sooyoung explained. Seohyun uncrossed her arms, and leaned her back on the bench. She let out a sigh.

 

“As much as I want to hate you, Youngie, but I think I can’t. These past few weeks were the best moment that happened in my life, after I broke up with Changmin oppa. You’ve been nothing but treated me nicely. Until I realized that I started to fall in love with you, Youngie. I know it will break my heart after this, but I’m willing to set you free, as you’ve already found your true love”, Seohyun said as her voice started to crack. Sooyoung then leaned closer and hugged Seohyun. She tried to hold her tears, but she failed to do so. Tears slowly rolled down her cheek.

 

“I’m so sorry, Hyunnie. I’m so sorry for breaking your heart”, Sooyoung said as he tightened his hug, and caressed her back gently. They were stay hugging each other for a few minutes before releasing themselves. Sooyoung looked at her, and he caressed her cheek gently. He wiped her tears away.

 

“You’re a wonderful girl that I’ve ever met in my life. I’m sure you will find someone who’s better than me, who will love you more than you could imagine”, Sooyoung said as he smiled.

 

“You think so?”, Seohyun asked innocently, which makes Sooyoung chuckled.

 

“Yes, Hyunnie. I’m sure whoever he is, he’s the luckiest man in the world who could fall in love with a beautiful girl like you”, he replied.

 

“Cheesy!”, Seohyun said as she slapped on Sooyoung’s arm. Sooyoung just giggled.

 

“I’m telling you the truth, Hyunnie. If I didn’t meet Jessica at first, I’m sure I will be that lucky man”, he said. Seohyun just smiled in return. “Are we good now?”, Sooyoung asked.

 

“If I say we’re still not, what will you do?”, Seohyun replied as she tried to . Sooyoung frowned.

 

“Hmm.. then, can I marry both of you?”, he said as he played along.

 

“Yah! That will not happen!”, Seohyun exclaimed and slapped on his arm again.

 

“Oww.. I was just kidding, though!”, Sooyoung said while caressing his arm. Seohyun just laughed. “Friends?”, Sooyoung said as he held out his hand.

 

“Yeah, friends”, Seohyun replied as she shook hands with him. “Alright, let’s go back inside. I’m sure Jessica ssi must be worried about you”, Seohyun said.

 

“Yeah, let’s”, Sooyoung said as he got up from the bench, followed by Seohyun. While they’re heading to the restaurant’s main entrance, suddenly Sooyoung stopped walking.

 

“Waeyo?”, Seohyun asked as she too stopped walking.

 

“With whom you came here?”, Sooyoung asked.

 

“Oh, I came here with my client. He recommended me to have our lunch here”, Seohyun replied.

 

“Oh, your client is ‘he’, huh? Is he handsome, like me?”, Sooyoung said as he smirked.

 

“Yah! what’s that supposed to mean?”, she snapped at him. Sooyoung just chuckled over her words.

 

“Nothing..hehe..”, he giggled. Seohyun just shook her head.

 

“Just shut up, Youngie! Kajaa!”, she said as she pushed Sooyoung lightly to get inside.

 

Back with YoonYul

 

“Eh, they seemed okay, like nothing happened”, Yuri said as soon as he saw Sooyoung and Seohyun entered the restaurant while talking and teasing with each other.

 

“What do you mean, Yulbaby?”, Yoona asked while munching her food.

 

“I mean, Soo and his girlfriend. I thought they’re going to pull each other’s hair”, Yuri replied as he giggled.

 

“Yah, Kwon Yuri! Why are you saying like that? Do you think all couples will end up their relationship with violence?”, Yoona said as she smacked hard on his arm.

 

“Oww.. babe! I’m just joking, though!”, Yuri exclaimed while caressing his sore arm.

 

“Aww.. mianhae baby!”, Yoona said while giving a peck on his cheek. “Now, let’s just finish our food, and let them be. They’re mature enough to settle their problem”, Yoona said.

 

“Yeah, you’re right, babe”, Yuri said as he continued to eat his food.

 

Meanwhile, with Seohyun and Hyoyeon

 

“Hey, sorry to make you wait”, Seohyun said as she sat on her chair.

 

“Gwenchana, Seo. Are you okay? Who’s the man that was with you just now?”, Hyoyeon asked curiously.

 

“He’s my ex-boyfriend”, Seohyun replied as she smiled faintly.

 

“Jinja? Wow, what a small world, huh? I never thought we will meet your ex in here”, Hyoyeon said as he was surprised.

 

“Yeah”, she replied in short. “Can we just start our discussion now?”, Seohyun said as she tried to avoid from talking about Sooyoung again.

 

“Seo, why don’t we eat first? No need to hurry, okay? We can have our discussion while eating”, Hyoyeon replied.

 

“Okay”, Seohyun said as she started to eat her food.

 

Back to SooSica

 

“Baby, are you okay?”, Jessica asked soon after Sooyoung approached their table. Sooyoung sat on his chair, and put his hand on Jessica’s thigh.

 

“I’m okay, sweetheart. Don’t worry”, Sooyoung replied as he patted her thigh, and smiled in assurance. Jessica however could sense that Sooyoung was tense up as his face looked a little bit gloomy. She grabbed his hand that was on her thigh, and entwined their hands together.

 

“Baby, I know you’re not okay. Just spill it out. I’m all ears”, Jessica said softly while caressing his hand using her thumb.

 

“I.. I’ve broke up with Seohyun”, Sooyoung said hesitantly. Jessica’s eyes widened as she was in surprise. Although deep down in her heart, she felt relief, but she still felt guilty for causing Sooyoung to break up with Seohyun.

 

“I-I’m so sorry to know that. It’s my fault, isn’t it?”, Jessica said as she lowered her head, gazing on the floor. Sooyoung just smiled and wrapped his arm on her shoulder.

 

“Aniyo, babe. It’s not your fault. I’m the one who are not telling her about the truth. About us. But, come to think about it, of course, part of it was your fault.. hehehe”, Sooyoung jokingly said as he tried to lift up their mood.

 

“Y-yah! How can you say like that!”, Jessica exclaimed as she elbowed hard on Sooyoung’s stomach, causing the latter to cringe in pain.

 

“Urghh.. b-babe.. I’m just joking, though!”, he said while holding his stomach.

 

“Serves you right!”, she said as she crossed her arms.

 

“Haishh.. Jessicaaa... please forgive me. I just want to cheer you up. You don’t have to feel guilty about it. Seohyun has already accepted the fact that I’m not in love with her. I’m in love only with you, Jessica Jung. Don’t worry, okay?”, Sooyoung said as he tried to coax the latter. Jessica couldn’t help but to smile over his sweet words. She then cupped his face, and leaned closer to kiss his lips.

 

“You’re not forgiven yet, sweetie. You still owe me for taking me out for shopping, and then after that I’ll consider whether to forgive you or not”, she said teasingly. Sooyoung pouted.

 

“You’re meanieee!”, he whined. Jessica laughed on his cute action.

 

“Alright, baby. Finish your food, and take me out for shopping after this. Then I’ll forgive you”, Jessica said as she patted gently on Sooyoung’s cheek. Sooyoung just complied, and slowly ate his food while pouting like a little boy who was sulking with his mother.

 

Back with HyoSeo

 

“Alright. I think we need to have further discussions about the main cast for your CF. I will discuss with my team about finding a suitable director to direct your CF later”, Seohyun said as she jotted something on her organizer. Hyoyeon just stared at her, not really listened to what she had said.

 

You’re so beautiful, Seo. How can that jerk broke up with a beautiful girl like you? He must be stupid!

 

“Hyo! Hyo! Hey, are you really listening to what I said just now?”, Seohyun snapped her fingers in front of Hyoyeon’s face after she noticed Hyoyeon was staring at her without blinking.

 

“Huh? Uhmm.. y-yeah.. I’m listening..”, Hyoyeon startled and quickly shifted his gaze on his food. His face flushed. Seohyun just chuckled on his weird action.

 

“Are you okay?”, she asked as she put her hand on top of Hyoyeon’s hand.

 

“DUP! DUP! DUP!”

 

His heart beats fast with a sudden skin contact with the latter.

 

Yah! Kim Hyoyeon! What’s wrong with you?

 

“Hyo?”, Seohyun’s voice suddenly makes him startled again.

 

“Y-yeah, yeah.. I’m listening, Seo”, Hyoyeon said as he lifted up his face and looked at Seohyun.

 

“Huh? I didn’t say anything just now. Are you sure you’re okay? You seems like spacing out”, she replied with a worried look.

 

“I’m okay, Seo. Let’s finish our lunch”, he said as he let out a small smile and continued eating his food.

 

“What is wrong with him? He looked okay before we came here”, Seohyun thought while glancing at him once a while. Both of them continued eating their food quietly.

 

In front of Seohyun’s office building

 

After they had done with their lunch discussion, Hyoyeon sent Seohyun back to her office. The travel from restaurant to Seohyun's office was quiet and awkward because Hyoyeon did not utter any single word to Seohyun, just like he usually did. This has made Seohyun felt puzzled with Hyoyeon's sudden change. Soon after the car arrived in front of Seohyun’s office building, Hyoyeon stopped the car, and dashed out to open the door for Seohyun.

 

“Thanks Hyo, and thanks for the lunch”, Seohyun said after she went out of the car.

 

“Yeah, you’re welcome”, he replied without looking at Seohyun. He was about to walk to the driver’s side when suddenly Seohyun grabbed his arm. He was surprised.

 

“Hyo, is it something wrong with you?”, Seohyun asked in worried tone. Hyoyeon just shook his head.

 

“Hyo, look at me”, Seohyun said. Hyoyeon was hesitant at first, but he slowly turned to look at the latter. His gaze met her. Seohyun could sense that Hyoyeon was hiding something from her.

 

“Hyo, tell me, what’s wrong?”, she asked. Hyoyeon took a deep breath before he started to speak.

 

“I..”, he paused as he wasn’t sure whether he should say it out or not.

 

“You what?”, Seohyun asked, impatient.

 

“I.. I like you”, he said.

 

There you go, Hyoyeon!

“Mwoh?”
