At YulTaeSoo apartment

 

“Babe, you’re ready?”, Yuri shouted from outside. Yoona was still inside the room, putting on her makeup.

 

“In a minute!”, she shouted back.

 

“Haishhh..”, Yuri hissed as he was pacing back and forth nervously. He had promised with his parents yesterday that they will meet them during lunch time at the restaurant where his family were the VIP customers there. They woke up late today since they’re tired from the previous outdoor activities, shopping, sightseeing and watching midnight movie.

 

“RING! RING! RING!”

 

“Omo!”, Yuri was startled with the phone ringing, and quickly fished his phone out of his pants pocket. He sighed as he looked at the phone screen, and quickly answered the call.

 

“Kwon Yuri, where are you? We have been waiting here for half an hour!”, his mother asked with a straight voice.

 

“I-I’m on my way, mom. We’re having a heavy traffic jam here”, he replied as he lied.

 

“Arasso. We’ll waiting for another half an hour. You know that your dad is busy. He need to go back to his office in one hour time. Why don’t you just bring the girlfriend of yours to our house?”, his mother said.

 

“Mom, I’ve told you last night, right? I don’t want to see hyung. I’m still not ready”, Yuri was starting get annoyed with his mother’s words.

 

“Arasso. Please make it fast. Otherwise we have to cancel the lunch”, her mother said before she ended the call.

 

“I know”, he replied. He put his phone back inside his pants pocket, and sighed. He then headed to his bedroom.

 

“Yoong, have you done with your makeup?”, he asked while standing at the room’s door frame. Yoona quickly turned her head to look at Yuri.

 

“Alright, I’m done!”, she said as she immediately took her handbag that was on the side table, and walked towards Yuri. She linked her arm through his.

 

“Okay, let’s go now. My mom called me just now. They’re waiting for us”, Yuri said as he started walking, heading to the living room. He then took his car keys, and intertwined his hand with Yoona’s, heading out of the apartment.

 

40 minutes later…

 

“Joesonghamnida, mom!”, Yuri apologized and bowed to his mother, followed by Yoona at his back.

 

“Glad that you could make it, son”, Mrs. Kwon got up from her seat. Yuri walked towards her, and hugged her mother.

 

“How are you, mom?”, he asked, and kissed his mother’s cheek.

 

“I’m good, son. How about you?”, his mother replied while returning the hug. She then glanced at Yuri’s back. Yoona smiled at her.

 

“Me too. Ermm.. mom, this is..”, he was about to continue to speak when suddenly his mother released the hug, and walked towards Yoona. She looked nervous when Mrs. Kim came closer to her.

 

“I know, Im Yoona ssi, right?”, Mrs. Kwon said while smiling.

 

“D-dae! A-Annyeong haseyo, Mrs. Kwon!”, Yoona nervously said as she bowed.

 

“Annyeong, Yoona ssi. Nice to meet you!”, Mrs. Kwon replied, and gave her a hug which makes the latter startled, but then slowly returned the hug.

 

“Alright, let’s have a seat first”, Mrs. Kwon said as she released the hug, and pulled Yoona’s hand to sit next to her. Yoona who was surprised with Mrs. Kwon’s treat, quickly looked at her boyfriend with a puzzle look. Yuri just winked at her, and sat in front of his mother.

 

“Mom, where’s dad?”, Yuri asked while his eyes wandering around the room. Yuri booked the VIP room for their lunch meeting today.

 

“Well, since he need to attend a meeting, he can’t wait both of you. So, he just send his regards”, Mrs. Kwon said while glancing at his son.

“I’m sorry, mom. We woke up late because we slept late last night. We went out for the whole day, and we felt tired”, Yuri replied as he tried to reason.

 

“It’s okay, son. Just go and visit him at his office whenever you’re free, arasso?”, Mrs. Kwon said.

 

“Arasso”, he replied as he nodded meekly.

 

“Okay, shall we eat now? I have ordered the food early since your dad need to go back to work”, Mrs. Kwon said. “Yoona, don’t be shy to me, okay? Let’s eat”, Mrs. Kwon said while patting on Yoona’s thigh.

 

“D-dae, Mrs. Kwon”, Yoona replied, still felt nervous.

 

“Just call me auntie, okay?”, Mrs. Kwon said with a smile.

 

“D-dae, auntie”, Yoona replied shyly. The three of them then started to eat the food while chatting.

 

“Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom”, Yuri excused himself as he got up from his seat. He then went out of the room.

 

“So, Yoona. How did you find Yuri so far?”, Mrs. Kwon asked. Yoona was surprised with her question at first, but then she slowly let out a smile.

 

“Ermm.. he’s a nice person, auntie. Although he knew I used to have a boyfriend before, he accepted me just for who I am, not because of the actress Im Yoona. He always care about me. We were friends before I slowly falling in love with him”, Yoona explained to Mrs. Kwon, which makes the latter smiled upon hearing her sweet confession. Without they realized, Yuri was eavesdropping their conversation. He’s still not yet going to the restroom because he was curious and felt a bit worried of leaving Yoona and his mother in one room since this was the first time both of them meeting with each other. Yuri felt relieved, and couldn’t help but to smile over Yoona’s words just now.

 

“I love you, Im Yoona!”, he mumbled happily before heading to the restroom.

 

“I’m glad to know that. You know, Yuri never had a girlfriend before. So, I was a bit worried on how he will treated you when he told me that he wanted to bring his girlfriend to meet us. But, luckily he met you. He sounded cheerful and happy when he called me earlier”, Mrs. Kwon said.

 

“Ermm.. auntie, can I ask you something?”, Yoona asked.

 

“Sure, dear. What is it?”, Mrs. Kwon replied.

 

“Why Yuri doesn’t live with you? I mean, why is he living in a rent apartment?”, she asked in curious. Mrs. Kwon slowly let out a soft sigh.

 

“Yuri was a bit rebellious when he was younger. His father and his older brother wanted him to work at his father’s company, but Yuri was against on it. His brother is quite a strict person, compared to his father. Yuri had a big argument with him because he wanted to choose his own career path, to do whatever he likes, unlike his brother. So, starting from that day, he moved out from our house to living on his own until now”, Mrs. Kwon explained. Yoona just nodded her head.

 

“No wonder he never told me about it”, she thought. A few minutes later, Yuri entered the room smilingly.

 

“Having a good conversation so far?”, Yuri asked both of them while sitting back on his chair.

 

“Yes, we’re. We were talking about you”, Mrs. Kwon replied while glancing at Yoona. The latter just smiled.

 

“Jinja? You guys talking behind my back?”, Yuri pretended to be surprised by her mother’s words.

 

“Haishh.. this brat! Do you want me to pull your ears right now?”, Mrs. Kwon snapped at him. Yoona just giggled as she felt amused with the mother and son small bickering. Yuri quickly covered his both ears with his hands while laughing at his pissed mother.

 

“Sorry, mom! Can’t help! Hehehe..”, Yuri said as he giggled. His mother just glared at him.

 

“Do that again, and I will call your hyung to come here right away!”, Mrs. Kwon replied, and it makes Yuri’s face expression suddenly change.

 

“Mom…”, Yuri was about to say something when his mother cut him off.

 

“Come home this Saturday to have dinner with us. I want you to introduce Yoona to your dad and your hyung, okay?”, Mrs. Kwon said softly. Yuri huffed.

 

“Do it for me, and for Yoona too, okay son?”, Mrs. Kwon said, trying to persuade him.

 

“I want you to prove to him that there’s nothing wrong in choosing your own career, although is not according to your family’s will. Be yourself, Yul”, Yuri suddenly remembered on what Jaejoong has told him on yesterday. He then sighed.

 

“Arasso. I will think about it later”, he replied while glancing at his lover. Yoona just smiled at him, while Yuri smiling back at her.

 

“Good to know that. Alright, let’s continue eat”, Mrs. Kwon said as the three of them continued eating.

After sending his mother to his family’s car, Yuri and Yoona bid Mrs. Kwon goodbye before they went back to Yuri’s car. Yuri opened the car’s door for his fiancee.

 

“Thanks, honey!”, Yoona said to him. Yuri just smiled in return, and after making sure Yoona was already inside the car, he immediately rushed to the driver’s side. He slid himself inside the car before he started the engine. Yoona noticed on his sudden change then put her hand on his lap.

 

“Yul baby, are you okay?”, she asked in concern.

 

“Yeah, I’m okay. Don’t worry”, he said as he put his hand on top of hers, and patted it gently. He then concentrated back his eyes on the road. Yoona knew he’s not really his normal self after meeting his mother just now. He used to be cheerful and loves to , but right now he just kept silent, and sometimes just smiled at her when she said something to him. She knew that he must felt bothered with his mother’s suggestion to have dinner at his home this coming Saturday.

 

“Yul, can we go somewhere?”, Yoona asked, her hand still on Yuri’s lap.

 

“Sure. Where to?” he asked.

 

“The park near the Han river where we used to go before”, she suggested. Yuri nodded her head.

 

“Okay”, he replied, and continued driving his car, heading to the said destination.

 

30 minutes later…

 

“Alright, we’re here”, Yuri said as he stopped the car at the parking lot. He unbuckled his seatbelt first before he did the same for Yoona. He then immediately went out of the car, and opened the door for his beloved one.

 

“Thanks!”, Yoona thanked her. And again, Yuri just replied with a smile.

 

“You don’t want to wear your sunglasses?”, he asked. Yoona usually will wear her sunglasses as to avoid being recognized by her fans, or other people out there.

 

“Nope, I just want people in the whole Seoul knows that I’m yours, and you’re mine”, she said smilingly. Yuri just chuckled on her words. “Yah! What’s so funny?”, she asked while smacking his arm.

 

“Sorry!”, he replied, and intertwined his hand with hers while both of them slowly walking away from the parking lot. They took their stroll along the riverside until they reached at one of the bench which facing the view of the Han river. There are not many people there since it’s still in a working hour time.

 

“Let’s sit here”, Yoona said as she sat down on the bench, and pulled Yuri’s hand to sit next to her. Yuri just complied. Yoona then sneaked her arm around Yuri’s waist, and leaned her head on his shoulder. Yuri just smiled, and put his arm around her shoulder, and pulled her closer to hug her. Both of them were silent for a while, enjoying each other's warmth in a cold breeze, and the view of the river which was half of it covered by the white snow. The weather was quite cold since it’s still winter.

 

“Baby, can I ask something?”, Yoona started to speak.

 

“Sure, sweetheart. What is it?”, he replied as he ran his hand gently on the side of her body as to make her felt warm. Yoona still contemplated whether she should asked him or not. But, she doesn’t want Yuri to still holding back his anger, and unsatisfied feelings toward his older brother. She wanted them to clear things up before she could be a part of the Kwon’s family. She suddenly remembered on her conversation with Yuri’s mother during their lunch earlier.

 

“Yoona ah, will you please take a good care of my son?”, Mrs. Kwon said to her during the lunch time while Yuri went out to the restroom.

 

“Sure, I will, auntie”, Yoona replied.

 

“Yuri maybe looked tough from outside, but he’s actually fragile inside. I know he still hold a grudge against his brother. And, I am concerned about the relationship of the two. Will you please help me to talk to him? I know he must be listened to you since he loves you so much”, Mrs. Kwon said.

 

“Don’t worry about it, auntie. I will try to talk to him later”, Yoona said as she assured her.

 

“But, promise me one thing”, she said to Yuri. He turned at his side to look at Yoona.

 

“Arasso. Malhaebwa (tell me)”, Yuri said. Yoona took a deep breath before she started to speak.

 

“Ermm.. are you still mad at your hyung?”, she asked while looking at Yuri. He was taken aback with Yoona’s question just now. He then let out a sigh.

 

“Honestly, yes, I’m still mad at him. But. I’m willing to forget what had happened between us if he willing to do the same. At the end of the day, fighting didn't availed to us both”, he said calmly while shifting his gaze at the river. Yoona smiled upon hearing his answer. She slowly released herself from Yuri’s embrace, and sat up straight. She cupped Yuri’s face, and stared deeply into his eyes.

 

“Then, let’s meet him”, Yoona said, which makes Yuri flinched.

 

“Mwoh?”, he asked as he was still surprised.

 

“You said just now that fighting didn’t availed to both of you, right? Until when you’re going to be like this? What if someday you will never get any chance at all to see him again? Do you want to live with feeling regret for the rest of your life?”, Yoona said as she tried to knock some sense into him. Yuri pulled her hands that was cupping his face, and let out a big heavy sigh .

 

“You mean, right now?”, he asked. Yoona nodded her head. Yuri frowned. Yoona just chuckled on her childish act.

 

“Kwon Yuri, you love me, do you?”, she asked while holding Yuri’s cheek. He nodded his head while pouting.

 

“W-wait, wait! What it has to do with meeting with my hyung, huh?”, he asked while looking at Yoona curiously.

 

“Hello, Yul!”, suddenly a deep voice being heard, which makes Yuri gasped. He immediately stood up, looking surprised.

 

“H-hyung?”, he said. Yoona then stood up, and bowed to Yuri’s brother. She then leaned closer to Yuri, and whispered to him.

 

“I will be waiting for you at the car, okay? Talk to him. You guys deserves a talk”, she said as she kissed his cheek before she left both siblings, and heading to the parking lot. What Yuri didn’t know is that, Yoona has planned earlier to get his older brother to meet with Yuri by asking Mrs. Kwon to call him, and asked him to come to the park where they will going to meet with each other.

 

“Anja (sit)”, Yuri’s brother, Hyuk Jun said as he sat up on the bench. Yuri just complied, and sat a bit far from him. There’s an awkward silence between them, and Hyuk Jun could feel the tense before he decided to start the conversation.

 

“It’s been a long time, huh?”, he said.

 

“Yeah”, Yuri replied in short.

 

“How’s life?”, Hyuk Jun asked.

 

“Mine is good. You?”, Yuri replied.

 

“Never better”, he said. Yuri just smiled over his words. He knew, his brother is a workaholic person, whilst he hold the position of CEO at their father’s company makes him busy like hell.

 

“So, she’s your girlfriend, huh?”, Hyuk Jun continued to ask.

 

“Yeah”, he replied.

 

“Not bad”, Hyuk Jun said.

 

“Yeah, thanks. How about you? Do you have someone special right now?”, Yuri asked as he started to feel comfortable with their conversation.

 

“Yeah. We’ve been together for 2 years”, Hyuk Jun replied.

 

“Chukahae (congratulations)!”, Yuri said.

 

“Thanks!”, Hyuk Jun replied while looking at Yuri. And coincidentally, Yuri was looking at him too. Both of them then burst out into laughter. Without both of them realized, Yoona was watching them from afar. She smiled widely when she heard both of them laughing.

“Mission accomplished!”, she pumped her fist into the air. “Good job, Im Yoona!”, she said as she patted her own shoulder before she headed back to the car.
