Moving on - Part 3

 

 

At the fitness centre

 

“Sul.. Sulli”, Krystal was shocked to see the person who just entered inside the office.

 

“Hi, Krys! I never thought to meet you here again”, Sulli said while walking towards Krystal. He then leaned closer and hugged the latter. Krystal just stood still there, frozen. Jaejoong and Yuri looked at each other with a curious look.

 

“Y-yeah”, Krystal replied in short. Sulli immediately released the hug. “W-what are you doing here?”, she asked with a confuse look.

 

“Oh, I’m here to register myself to become a member of this fitness club. I need to keep fit since I just started doing a modelling job”, Sulli replied.

 

“R-really? I see”, Krystal replied nonchalant. She didn’t know how should she react. Sulli’s sudden presence still shocking her. Yuri who noticed on Krystal’s unpleasant look immediately approached her.

 

“Krys, are you okay?”, he asked in concern.

 

“Y-yeah, I’m okay, oppa”, Krystal replied with a small smile.

 

“Welcome to our club, Mr. Choi. Mr. Kwon here will assist you with the registration. Please follow him”, Jaejoong said to Sulli.

 

“Thank you, Mr. Kim”, Sulli said.

 

“Please have a sit, Mr. Choi”, Yuri said as he led Sulli to sit on the couch. Yuri started his briefing about the club membership and also assisting him to fill up the registration form. After done with the registration process, Yuri then called Krystal to sit on the couch.  

 

“Alright, Mr. Choi, Krystal will be your trainer. So, I think you can come on tomorrow to start your training schedule. Or, you can start at anytime you want, whenever you’re free. Just let me know then”, Yuri said.

 

“Okay, thank you so much, Mr. Kwon”, Sulli said as he got up from the couch, and held out his hand to shake hands with Yuri.

 

“Oh, just call me Yuri”, Yuri replied as he got up from the couch too, and shook hands with Sulli.

 

“I’ll see you on tomorrow, Krys”, Sulli said as he walked closer to Krystal and wanted to hug her, but Krystal immediately held out her hand. Sulli was startled at first, but he then shook hands with Krystal. Again, Yuri and Jaejoong just looked at each other in curious.

 

“Alright, Mr. Kim. Thank you so much, and I’ll see you guys on tomorrow”, Sulli shook hands with Jaejoong. He then glanced at Krystal before he walked out of the office.

 

Krystal who was suddenly silence since then slowly walked back to her desk, and sat on her chair. She seems aloof after meeting with Sulli just now.

 

“Guys, I need to go out for a while. I need to meet the supplier to check on the spare parts sample for the equipments. I’ll be back a bit late”, Jaejoong said as he took his backpack that was on the table.

 

“Alright, boss! Noted!”, Yuri said. Jaejoong waved at them before went out of the office. Yuri then shifted his gaze at Krystal. She’s still sat on her chair quietly.

 

“Krys, Krys, Krystal Jung!”, Yuri called her several times. Krystal startled and immediately turned to look at Yuri.

 

“Yes, oppa?”, Krystal replied.

 

“What’s wrong with you? Are you okay? You’re not your usual”, Yuri said while walking towards Krystal’s desk, and sat on the edge of the desk.

 

“I’m okay, oppa. Don’t worry”, Krystal replied with a small smile.

 

“No, you’re not. Tell me, what’s wrong?”, Yuri asked in concern. Krystal let out a heavy sigh before she started to speak.

 

“Choi Sulli..”, she paused for a while before she continued. “He is.. my ex-boyfriend”, she said.

 

“Mwoh?”

 

 

Later on that night, at the Kim’s Residence

 

“How’s your life so far?”, Mr. Kim asked his son while munching his food. Taeyeon and his parents were having dinners at that time.

 

“Life’s okay. Nothing much happened”, he replied straightly.

 

“Hmm.. how’s your taxi so far? Did you do regular maintenance on it?”, Mr. Kim asked again. Mrs. Kim just keep silent while listening intently to father and son conversation.

 

“Yeah”, Taeyeon replied in short while eating his food. That’s what always happens whenever they had their conversation. Taeyeon and his short reply. Ever since he started working with his father, he tried to avoid from having a conversation with him. Although Mr. Kim felt frustrated with his doings, but he still care about his son.

 

“Taetae, how’s Tiffany?”, Mrs. Kim suddenly asked as she tried to break the awkward situation.

 

“She’s doing fine, mom”, Taeyeon replied.

 

“When are you going to bring her here again? I missed having her around”, Mrs. Kim said. Taeyeon just let out a soft sigh. He used to bring Tiffany along to his house once when he need to stop by at his house just for a while to pick up his remaining belongings there.

 

“She’s busy with her work nowadays mom. I’ll bring her here next time when she free”, Taeyeon replied.

 

“Who’s Tiffany? Your girlfriend?”, Mr. Kim asked in curious.

 

“COUGH! COUGH!”, Taeyeon coughed his food out as he was surprised with his father’s words.

 

“Taetae, are you okay?”, his mom asked while patting his back repeatedly.

 

“I’m okay mom. I’m okay”, he said.

 

“Here, drink this”, Mrs. Kim passed a glass of plain water to Taeyeon. He immediately drank it.

 

“Thanks mom”, he said. “For your information Mr. Kim, she’s not my girlfriend!”, he suddenly exclaimed. Mr. and Mrs. Kim startled. “I’m done!”, Taeyeon said as he quickly stood up from the chair, and left the dining room.

 

“What’s wrong with him?”, Mr. Kim asked while looking at his wife.

 

“Let me check on him”, Mrs. Kim said as she patted her husband’s hand. She got up from the chair, and walked towards the living room.

 

“Hmm... where’s he?”, she mumbled when she found Taeyeon wasn’t in the living room. She suddenly got an idea. “I think I know where he is”, she mumbled before she walked to the main door. She pulled the door knob, and walked out of the house. She headed to the small garden that was located on the backyard of their house. She smiled when she saw her son was sitting at the bench there. She slowly approached him.

 

“Hey sweetie, what are you doing here?”, Mrs. Kim put her hand on Taeyeon’s shoulder. Taeyeon startled. He immediately turned to his back.

 

“Hey, mom. Nothing, I just want to clear up my mind here”, Taeyeon said as he let out a small smile. Her mother then walked to the front, and sat on the bench next to him. She let out a soft sigh before she started to speak.

 

“Taetae, I know you still mad with you dad about what had happened. Can you please just forget about it, dear?”, Mrs. Kim said while caressing her son’s hand. Taeyeon sighed.

 

“I’m sorry that I’ve disappointed you, mom. It’s just that I can’t still accept on his decision”, Taeyeon replied.

 

“Taetae, whatever decision he has made, I’m sure he have thought about it carefully, sweetheart. He did that because he knew, he can rely on you. He knew that you’re capable to continue handling his business, because someday, when he’s not capable to do so, he’ll handover it to you”, his mother said softly, trying to soothe him.

 

“But, why me? Why not Jiwoong hyung? Don’t you think that his decision was unfair for me?”, he asked. Mrs. Kim just smiled.

 

“Dear, have you forgot? Your brother has no experience at all in business since he took engineering course while he was studying at the university. While you yourself graduated with a business management degree. Of course your dad know who’s capable in helping him running his business. He wants you, as a young people to think creatively about how to apply the knowledge you've learned at university before, to develop and expand our existing business”, his mother replied.

 

Taeyeon silent for a while as he was in a deep thought. Her mother was right. Ever since he worked with his father, he has brought many changes to the family business. He has established a call center, and also has proposed a taxi charter service, which has helped to increase the profit of his father’s company. In fact, his father's company also has been listed in the list of public taxi services by Korean Tourism Organization.

 

“Taetae, please. Just forget about the past, and forgive your dad, okay? He felt sad when you treated him like that. Your dad loves you so much. He won’t do anything that will ruin his own son’s future. Please, do it for the sake of me”, her mother persuaded him. Taeyeon let out a sigh, and took his mother’s hand that was on his lap. He caressed his mother’s hand gently.

 

“I’m sorry mom. I’m sorry for making you and dad feel sad. I’m sorry for making you and him worry. I’m so selfish for thinking like that”, he said as his voice started to crack.

 

“Gwenchana dear. I understand on how you feel. Just let's forget about what had happened, okay? Go and see your dad. I’m sure he will feel happy when you want to talk to him”, her mother replied while patting on his hand.

 

“Okay”, he said as he got up from the bench. He then turned to look at his mother. “You don’t want to get inside?”, he asked.

 

“It’s okay, dear. I just want to sit here for a while”, Mrs. Kim replied. Taeyeon hugged his mother, and kissed on top of her head before he left.

 

Taeyeon slowly entered inside the house, and he found his father was sitting on the couch while watching TV. He slowly closed the door, and walked towards the couch. He then sat next to his father.

 

“Hey, son. What are you doing here? Where’s your mom?”, Mr. Kim asked soon after Taeyeon sat next to him.

 

“Mom at outside. She want to take some fresh air”, Taeyeon replied.

 

“Oh, okay”, Mr. Kim said while focusing back on the TV screen.

 

“Dad”, Taeyeon called.

 

“Hmm?”, his father replied, still focusing his eyes on the TV screen.

 

“I’m.. I’m sorry”, he said. His father turned to look at Taeyeon.

 

“For what? What have you done?”, Mr. Kim asked while furrowing his brows.

 

“I’m sorry for not treating you good all this while”, he mumbled. Mr. Kim let out a sigh, and smiled after he heard on Taeyeon’s words. He patted on his son’s shoulder.

 

“Gwenchana, son. I know. And, I’m sorry for not considering on your feeling. I know, you thought I’m not treating you fairly because I forced you to work with me, while you have planned your own future. It's okay son, you can leave our company at anytime you like”, Mr. Kim said.

 

“It’s not like that, dad. I’m happy with my work right now, and I’m glad that I could helped you. That’s the least that I can do to repay for what have you done, in raising your children well”, Taeyeon replied.

 

“I’m glad to know that, son. Alright, let’s have a drink together whenever you’re free, okay?”, Mr. Kim said.

 

“Sure, dad”, Taeyeon replied smilingly. Both father and son then watching the TV together while chatting on random things. They didn’t knew that Mrs. Kim actually had eavesdropped their conversation from outside since then.

 

“Glad that they’re okay now”, she mumbled slowly.

 

 

At YulTaeSoo apartment

 

Sooyoung was sitting on the couch at the living room while watching TV. He just had his dinner, two large boxes of pizza with Yuri. Yuri was at the kitchen, making coffee for both of them.

 

“Here’s your coffee, bro”, Yuri said soon while putting the coffee mug on the table. He then sat on the other couch with a coffee mug in his hand. “What are you watching?”, he asked Sooyoung while sipping his coffee.

 

“A drama. Seohyun suggested me to watch it”, Sooyoung said with a smile.

 

“Huh? Who’s Seohyun? Do I know her?”, he asked in curious.

 

“No, you don’t know her. I just met her on yesterday. Yuri then immediately put his mug on the table, and sat next to Sooyoung.

 

“Hmm.. you’re smiling when you mentioned this Seohyun’s name. That’s not usual you. I smell something fishy here. Tell me, who is she?”, Yuri asked as he eager to know.

 

“Haishh.. this kiddo!”, Sooyoung grunted. “I got bumped into her on yesterday when I had breakfast with Jessica at Starbucks cafe. She was accidentally dropped her organizer, and today I went to her office to return her organizer. After that, she treated me a lunch as to thank me for returning her organizer”, he continued.

 

“So, how’s she? Is she pretty?”, Yuri asked again. Sooyoung just smiled before he replied.

 

“Hmm.. yeah, and I was surprised to know that she’s working in the same field with me”, Sooyoung said.

 

“Jinja? Wow, finally you’ve met your dream girl, huh?”, Yuri said teasingly which earning a slap on his lap. “Y-yah! What’s that for?”, he cried while caressing his sore lap.

 

“That’s for being a busybody”, he sternly said. Yuri playfully raised his fist at Sooyoung as he immediately got up, and sat back on the other couch. Sooyoung chuckled, and then concentrated back watching the drama on the TV. Yuri let out a soft sigh. He leaned his back on the couch while remembering on what had happened on that afternoon.

 

 

**Flashback**

 

At the fitness centre

 

“Mwoh?”, Yuri was shocked. “Wow, this is so unexpected!”, he said.

 

“Yeah, and I never expected that I will meet him again, in here!”, Krystal replied with her gloomy face. She leaned her back on the chair, and facepalmed herself. “Tell me oppa, what should I do?”, she asked. Yuri scratched his head as he didn’t know on what he should say.

 

“Frankly, I really don’t have any idea on that, Krys. But, why don’t you try to act like usual, like when you and him were friends?”, he suggested. Krystal sighed.

 

“How am I going to act like usual in front of the person who once I used to be in love with, and the one who’s also broke my heart?”, she asked again. Yuri felt sorry for her. He then took her hand, and caressed it gently as he tried to soothe the latter. Krystal was surprised at first, but then she just let it be as her problem with Sulli at the moment was really more distracting her. Suddenly she jolted up from her seat as she suddenly have got an idea. Her sudden action makes Yuri startled.

 

“Yah! What’s wrong with you?”, Yuri exclaimed as he immediately released his hand from Krystal’s. Krystal giggled.

 

“Sorry, oppa. I didn’t mean to make you surprise”, she said as she smiled apologetically.

 

“Don’t do like that next time. I might die early because of the sudden heart attack”, Yuri said which earns a chuckle from Krystal.

 

“Oppa, I’ve got an idea on how to settle my problem with Sulli”, Krystal said.

 

“Really? What is it?”, Yuri asked intently.

 

“Hmm.. but, promise me that you will not get mad at me first, okay?”, she replied. Yuri furrowed his brows.

 

“Alright, tell me, what is it?”, Yuri asked again as he was in curious.

 

“Hmm.. I want you to act as my new boyfriend”, Krystal replied.

“Mwoh?”
