“Don’t you think the event ended well, jie?”

I looked at Tao, I shrugged and held his hand as we walked out.

“I don’t know.”

I can almost see him grin.

“I wasn’t able to eat properly. Can we eat out before going home?” I asked.

“I cant. Appa still wants to talk, maybe…..”

I saw Kris coming our way.

“Huang Zitao, don’t you dare abandon me~”

“Hyung! Hyung!”

Kris looked at us and nodded.

“Hyung, can you accompany noona to eat? She’s hungry~”

“Aniya, I’m fine now~”

“Yeah, sure.” Kris nodded. I sighed.

“Then, I’ll be going. Bye noona.”

 

Narrator’s POV

 

It was odd, but Tao actually entrusted his sister to another person.

“What do you want eat? The hotel café is still open.” Kris said.

“I was thinking of something more….simple. Is it okay?”

 

They walked inside a Chinese restaurant. People eyed their formal attired, but Jooyoung just shrugged them off. But Kris was uncomfortable because her back was exposed; he sighed and took off his jacket.

“Wear this.” He said as he handed the coat to her. Jooyoung smiled in return and began reading the menu.

“What happened to Moli?” She asked carefully as she returned the menu to the waiter.

“She said she wanted to go back to China.”

Jooyoung nodded and tapped her fingers on the table.

“Why did you do it earlier? It’s not that I don’t appreciate it, but it was…….unexpected.”

Kris looked at her with a hard expression on his face.

“Geu nyang(Because)…….”

Jooyoung looked up at him. Kris contemplated in his mind.

“Omo, isn’t that Mister Wu from Wu Conglomerate? Why is here alone with a woman?”

They both turned, then some people were taking pictures of them. Jooyoung squirmed in her seat. Kris stood up and pulled her out of the restaurant.

“I still didn’t get to answer your question.” He stated as they made their way to his car.

“Ah.” Jooyoung bit her lip and walked. She didn’t like the fact that people were talking about them back at the restaurant. She didn’t like the fact that she would become the talk of the town and she knew Kris wouldn’t like it.

“Geu nyang…niga je il…jo ha. (Because, I....like you…best.)”

Jooyoung stopped walking and looked at Kris.

“What are you saying?”

“I like you, Jooyoung.”

She blinked.

“Kris, we’re just pretending here, no need to take things seriously~”

“I’m serious.”

Jooyoung didn’t know what to say. The atmosphere suddenly dropped. She bit her lower lip and looked away.

“I’m not rushing you, Jooyoung, I just wanted you to know that.” Kris added gently. Jooyoung nodded meekly, entirely unsure of what to do.

“I’ll wait for you.” He said as they began walking back to the car.

“Kris?”

Kris looked at her.

“Thank you for giving me time.” She said. Kris nodded.
