Chapter 11
Give Me A SmileNarrator’s POV
Jooyoung parked her car outside Wu Conglomerate’s building. She fixed her white high low dress as she stepped out of the car. She needed to speak to someone in charge. She wanted to know why she was given such a long break.
She got inside and the company and she was impressed how the lobby was furnished. It was very modern and the floor length glass windows were clean.
“Hi, good morning, I was referred here by Korea Air.”
“Yes, who would you like to meet?”
“I was given a sudden leave without any notice, I don’t know who exactly I should meet.” Jooyoung replied to the lady.
“Ah, if that so, you can head up to the 26th floor and meet Mr. Oh Byung Man, he’s assigned to Korea Air’s affairs.”
Jooyoung nodded and thanked the girl.
Your POV
I didn’t know Korea Air was under Wu Conglomerate. I wonder who onws the company, the name sounds so oriental, maybe a Chinese family.
I arrived at the floor the lady said. Then I heard my phone ring.
“Yes?”
“Jooyoungie, its me. ”
“Oh, Suho oppa. Whats up?”
“I was just wondering, are you free for lunch?”
“I ~”
I felt my dress get wet. I looked down and saw a cup of ice coffee on the floor.
“Miss, I am so sorry!” The man said and took out his handkerchief.
“Aniyo, it’s okay. I wasn’t looking, if you could point to me where the restroom is~”
“Ah, yes. It’s on the left.”
Narrator’s POV
Jooyoung rushed to the restrooms without even looking. When she saw the little sign on the wall she immediately rushed inside and went to the sink. She sprinkled some water on the skirt part of her dress and began wiping it.
“Annoying.” She muttered to herself as she continued.
But little did our Miss Huang know, the men peeing in the comfort room fleed out as soon as she got inside. Yes, she is inside the men’s room.
Then a tall guy was standing a few feet away from her, he was washing his hands. He was looking at the girl curiously. Then recognition set on his face. He looked away to hide his smile.
“Uhmm, Jooyoung?”
Jooyoung looked up, then her eyes widened.
“Kris! Why…..are….you here?”
Kris looked around him. Jooyoung did the same and she balked.
“This is the men’s comfort room, naturally, I’d be here, but you…..”
Jooyoung closed her eyes for a moment.
“What happened to you?”
He was looking at her dress.
“Accident.” She nodded.
Kris nodded.
“You know, I need to go.”
“Wait, cover that up. Here.” Kris handed her his jacket.
“It’s fine~”
“Tie it around your waist.” He said as he went out while biting his tongue to stop himself from laughing.
Kris’s POV
I waited for her to come out. This girl……she’s… so different from Tao and it amuses me.
“Done.” She sighed as she went out.
“What brings you here? Work?” I asked.
“Hm, I’m here to ask about the leave~wait, you work here?”
“Yes, I do. We should talk in my office.” I replied, I noticed we were getting a lot of stares, might as well prevent rumors.
We entered my office.
“What did you want to ask?”
“I’m supposed to meet Oh Byung Man and ask him why I was given a leave.”
I swallowed.
“Ah, you want to make it longer?” I asked.
“No, I want to know why~” Her eyes landed on my nameplate.
“Wu Fan, Kris Wu…….Chief Executive Officer.” She muttered and looked at me.
“You own this place?”
“Well, my family. But yeah.” I nodded.
“Don’t tell me….Tao…told you to do this?”
“Jooyoung-ssi, please understand~”
“How many times to I have to be lied to?!” She said.
“I know how this looks like~”
“And all this time you didn’t tell me….thats great.” She said as she sat down.
“Tao was worried, he said you get sick easily. You needed a rest.” I replied.
Narrator’s POV
Kris has reached his maximum of ten sentences a day. He didn’t even know why he was talking so much around her.
“Look, I’ll try to fix some things up and see what I can do about it.” He offered.
“Arasso.”
Kris went to his desk and got his phone.
Jooyoung bit her lip. She didn’t expect her brother would do such a thing.
“They can shorten it to a month, just that. The schedule is already full and your seat has already been filled in.”
“Thanks.”
“Don’t be angry at Tao, he was just worried about you.”
“I know. Then, I’ll be leaving. Thanks for helping me.”
Kris stood up, then he looked frustrated for a second.
“Uhmm, Jooyoung-ssi~”
Jooyoung looked at him.
“I should at least take you to lunch.”
“No it’s fine~”
“I insist.” Kris said. Jooyoung nodded.
“Fine.”
They entered an Italian restaurant. Jooyoung didn’t know what to do. She felt weird having a meal with the ice prince. She wished that Xiumin or Lay were around.
“You must be busy all day.” She said just to make noise. Kris nodded. She blew her bangs up and tapped her fingers on the table.
“When did you start~”
“Jooyoung-ah, I thought you weren’t free.”
Kris looked up with sudden interest.
“Oh—oppa.”
At the last word, Kris looked at her.
