Mir’s P.O.V

      I fell asleep on Joon’s lap. When I woke up the next day nobody was in the hotel room. I looked around for him but he wasn’t there. There was a knock at the door. I opened it and was someone from the hotel staff.

“Hello, are you Mir?”

“Yes, that’s me.”

“Mr. Lee said to give you this.” She bowed and left. I was standing in the doorway holding the note she gave me. I looked around the hallway to see no one except an old man coming out a room pulling up his pants and a younger woman following behind him. Disgusting! I went back inside and began reading the letter.

Mir,

I’ll be back soon I just need to take care of some things. Don’t worry and stay in the room until I get back. Don’t go out for any reason, order whatever you want, rest, watch TV, do anything just don’t get out of the room. I love you. –Joon

“Where did he go, and why can’t I go out?” I didn’t want to risk anything so I stayed inside. My stomach grumbled and I ordered breakfast. I ate, watched TV, read, surfed the internet but it all got boring just as fast. It’s now two, there’s another knock at the door. I ran to open it thinking it was Joon but it was the maid.

“Room cleaning.” She simply said and walked in, she looked young, too young and pretty to be working as a maid. She looks a little like Joon.  She was struggling to push the cart, I grabbed it and pushed it in. she thanked me quickly and started cleaning. I had already done the bed out of boredom. There weren’t any cleaning supplies so I couldn’t do that. I picked up a duster and began dusting. Her eyes widened and she took the duster from me.

“Please don’t do that sir. You’re a guest.” She looked down at her feet.

“We’re probably the same age treat me like a friend..” her eyes widened and I laughed. “I’m Mir and you?”

“I’m Hyuna, you shouldn’t be speaking with the workers though.”

“No one will know, it’s just us here, unless there are cameras in here? That’d be kind of creepy though.” She laughed as I looked all over the place.

“There’s no cameras in the rooms. Is the other man your brother?” I smiled and shook my head.

“No, he’s my boyfriend.”

“Omo really? You look good together.”

“Aigoo~ thank you!”

“How long have you been together?”

“Mmh two months?” we began cleaning together and kept talking.

“How old are you?”

“I’m sixteen.” Ohh she’s a year younger than me!

“Where were you born?”

“Here, in Seoul.” She looked kind of sad.

“What’s wrong? Did I ask anything too personal?”

“No, it’s nothing like that.” She smiled warmly and fluffed a cushion.

“So how come you’re working as a maid? I mean it’s nothing bad but you’re too pretty.”  She blushed at my compliment.

“Ah I need to pay for school and for a place to stay.”

“You don’t live with your parents?” she shook her head.

“I live on my own, my mother left me when I was four, and I never met my father.”

“Oh I’m sorry.” I gave her a small hug and looked at our finished work.

“When do you get off work?”

“In an hour, why?”

“Do you want to keep me company? I don’t know when Joon’s coming back. It’s alright if you don’t want to…”

“Are you sure? He won’t get mad?”

“Of course not! I’ll see you here in an hour then.”

“Alright. Bye bye.”

         I sat on the couch and flipped through the channels landing on a sitcom. I watched two episodes when there was a knock at the door.

“Who is it?”

“It’s…Hyuna.” Came a tiny voice.

“Oh just come in the doors unlocked.” She walked in and came over to sit on the couch with me. “Are you hungry? I am.” She nodded. “What do you want to eat? Joonie let me order anything.” I said smiling as I held the phone.

“He seems nice, anything’s fine I don’t want to be a burden.” I smiled at her and ordered some food.

“So…” I scratched the back of my head not knowing what to say even though I’m the one who invited her.

“Uhm, I don’t want to be rude but why aren’t you in an orphanage if you’re sixteen?”

“I ran away. I didn’t want to be there any longer.”

“Why not?”

“I was abused.” She whispered and I could see tears forming in her eyes.

“I’m sorry they hit you.”

“No not like that well like that to, but you know like…” she trailed off but I knew what she meant.

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry.” I wrapped her in a hug.

“It’s okay. I told you I don’t want to burden you. How did you and Joon meet?”

“You’re not a burden. We went to the same school.” She nodded. We continued talking. Me and Hyuna became instant friends. We shared our life stories from when were young up until now with all the problems our parents caused and how me and Joon left. I found out a lot of things we had in common like music, and hobbies.  It’s about to be ten in the evening now and Joon still hasn’t returned. He wouldn’t answer any of my calls or texts. Hyuna kept me company all day. She got up, stretched and turned to me.

“I’m sorry it’s late I think I should go.” I looked at her sadly.

“Can I bother you and ask you to stay with me please? I don’t want to be alone.” She agreed and we stayed watching TV. I don’t know when but we fell asleep.

Joon’s P.O.V

               I left early in the morning. Why? I came to look for an apartment for me and Mir. I got a call from a realtor this morning who said there was something available. I wanted something close to Mir’s school so he wouldn’t have to walk far, also something that could be close to my dance studio. I got a job as a dance instructor. The pay is good enough to get by and then some. I keep wondering how Mir is going to react to us living together. I was giddy with excitement, just thinking of having our own home, just the two of us. I checked the balance in my bank account and it had enough to pay the first months’ rent and shop for the basic things we needed. I didn’t want Mir to sleep in a hotel for a long time. He deserves better and I’ll make sure he gets it.

       I left my phone in my aunts’ house this afternoon when I dropped by to ask her if she could let me borrow her car. I only realized four hours later when I didn’t get any calls from Mir. I began patting my pockets but couldn’t find. Then I remembered I set it down on the kitchen counter when I grabbed the keys.

“AISH! Mir is going to think I’m ignoring him.” I ruffled my hair and drove to the bank to withdraw money for the down payment of our place. After I met with the owner he showed me around the apartment and a bit of the neighborhood. We shook hands and he handed me the keys to our new life.

      It’s late now so I can’t do anything else. The drive from here to my aunts is about two hours long plus the drive back and I still need to drive to hotel.

“This is too much!”

When I got back to the hotel I found Mir sleeping on the lap of a girl. Is he cheating on me…? I walked over to them. They looked great together. Her porcelain skin, long dark hair, long lashes, and pink lips. I then looked at Mir and saw his angelic face that when awake was devil in disguise. His brown hair falling over his eyes. Time for a haircut! I lightly tapped him on the shoulder and he opened one eye.

“Hey I’m back…” at the sound of my voice he flew off the couch and jumped into my arms screaming.

“JOONIE~! WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME? WHERE DID YOU GO? WHY DIDN’T YOU TAKE ME? DID YOU GET HURT?  WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME? DID YOU GO SEE YOUR DAD? WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME!!” He was sobbing and I was patting his back. I remembered the girl and looked over at her. She was awake and staring at us.

“I didn’t mean to leave you I just had some things to take care of.” I wanted the apartment to be a surprise for him. “but uhm who is she?” I asked pointing towards the girl whose eyes had gone wide when I looked at her.

“oh she’s my new friend Hyuna~! I met her today, she works here I asked her to keep company while you were gone.” I breathed in relief that she was just a friend. So that’s how it is.

“Hello, I’m hyuna.” She introduced herself, she was very polite.

“Hi, I’m Changsun, call me Joon though.”

“My brothers’ name was Changsun.” She whispered.

“Is anything wrong?”

“No, no nothing’s wrong. I’ll be going now.” She walked towards the door and was about to open it. There was something about her that made me want to protect her.

“Why don’t you stay with us for tonight? I mean it’s really late, and there are bad people out there.”

“it’s alright, I’ll just take a taxi.”

“I insist, those drivers are mostly erts at night. I wouldn’t something bad to happen to you. Juststay okay? You can sleep in the bedroom, I’ll sleep on the couch.”

“Oh I couldn’t!”

“What about me Joonie!”

“You can sleep on the bed with her as well. I trust you.”

“I can’t do that to you guys!” she said looking at the both of us.

“Well it would be rude to let a girl sleep on the couch or the floor now wouldn’t it? Sleep on the bed with Mir. That’s final.” I walked into the bedroom and grabbed a blanket. I came back out and saw Mir and Hyuna whispering to each other. Did they seriously just meet today? They look so close! Wait what about me? I’m trying to protect someone I don’t even know!

“AISH!” they both turned to me and giggled at my outburst.

“We decided the bed is big enough for all three of us.” Mir grabbed mine and Hyuna’s hands and dragged us to the room. After a couple more minutes of arguing who gets to sleep where, we ended up sleeping together. Me on the edge of the bed holding on to Mir who was in the middle, and Hyuna on the other side with a pillow in between her and Mir.

                 In the morning I was the first one to wake up. I took a shower and got dressed. After finishing my morning ritual, I called up breakfast. Someone knocked and I answered to get the food.

“Breakfast sir.”

“Thank you.” I pulled in the cart and tipped the man.

“Thank you!” he bowed and walked down the hallway. I closed the door and went to wake the other two. When I tried waking Mir up he hit me and then held on tight to bed sheets as if that was going to stop me from pulling him. I gave up on him and woke up Hyuna instead. She woke up the instant she heard me but cowered in the corner of the bed, once her eyes adjusted to the light and she noticed it was me she calmed down a little.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her as nicely as I could.

“Sorry, I thought something else…” she looked down fiddling with the hem of the blanket.

“Let’s eat okay?” she nodded and got up.

“What about Mir oppa?”

“If we continue to try and wake him up we won’t ever eat. I’ll just get him something else when he wakes up.”

             The both of us ate in silence for a bit. I started asking her questions like where she lived. It turns out she lives in one of the most dangerous areas in Seoul, where the gangsters live. She looks too innocent, and sweet, I can’t imagine her living somewhere like that. After more talking I found out her life story. I thought I was screwed. The more I got to know her, the more protective I felt. Why am I feeling like towards a stranger? We finished eating and I told her about my plan of how me and Mir were moving in together and how I was going to surprise him today. She gushed about how nice of a boyfriend I am, and other things. An hour later we had become like best friends. Funny how there’s people you know almost your whole life and you can’t stand being in the same room, but meet a stranger and you’re friends for life. I felt like my whole was like this. I met Seung Ho and G.O by accident, but look at them, they’re like my mother and father. Mir was a stranger as well but the second he spoke to me he moved something in me.

        A groggy Mir came out of the bedroom wrapped in a blanket while clutching a pillow. He was rubbing his eyes and sniffing the air.

“You ate without me!!” he cried running to us.

“I tried waking you up many times but you wouldn’t budge. I’ll call breakfast for you okay?” he was pouting as he came to sit on my lap, wrapping his blanket around me.

“Merong~” he kissed my cheek then greeted Hyuna. They began talking and I was ignored again. Once Mir finished his food, he went to take a shower. I pulled Hyuna to the living room.

“I’m going to propose something to you but you have to agree alright? I won’t take no as an answer.” She looked a little scared but curious at the same time.

“O-o-okay.” She stuttered nodding her head.

“I want you to move in with us. The apartment is big enough for all three of us, and I assume you’re still in school? You could enroll in Mir’s school, since its close. I don’t want to know you’re living in a place like you do now. You’ll have your own bedroom, you can continue working and pay rent if you’re not comfortable just moving in like this. You can just tell people I’m your older brother so rumors won’t start.” I can tell she was shocked. I thought about her all this morning. I just couldn’t let her continue living the she was. I got her to agree.

“I called the movers today and rented a truck, so we can pick up your things first, and then head over to my old house.” After agreeing on a plan, and all of us dressed, I took them both to our new home.

               Mir was jumping up and down like a child on his birthday, and then began screaming when I told him Hyuna was moving with us. I was happy seeing both of them like this. We’re a couple of misfits, but together we seem to make a good team. I thought happily as I showed them around.

“This is Hyuna’s room.” I said showing her an empty bedroom. She looked so happy.

“Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!” she was jumping around with Mir.

“And this is our room.” I said to Mir holding him from behind as we made our way in. he pushed me away as ran in. “YAH!”

“Ahhhh it’s perfect!!!” he rolled around on the floor, then stood at the window and yelled hello at the people walking by. Why didn’t I rent the bottom floor?

                After getting acquainted with the place. We drove to her home. There were a few hoodlums standing around the corner. She had her head down and was clutching her hands tightly. After I parked and we got out, someone who lived next door came out and grabbed her hand.

“WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? YOU STUPID GIRL! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PAY YOUR RENT YESTERDAY!” The man was about to slap her but I grabbed it.

“She was with me, how much does she owe you?” the looked me up and down and laughed.

“So you found yourself a sugar daddy eh ?”

“Insult her again and you won’t be able to breathe anymore.” The man laughed and pulled Hyuna towards the driveway.

“If you can’t pay me with money, there’s other ways sweet heart.” He smacked his lips as his eyes roamed her body. “your sugar daddy here won’t mind if I took a swing at you. Right?” I pulled her off of him, and pushed him on the grass.

“Don’t talk about her that way. Mir help her get her stuff in the car as fast as you can.” They both went in the opposite house then I turned to the man again. “How much does she owe you?”

“The owes me eight hundred dollars.” He spat, I pulled out my wallet and handed him the money.

“There. From now on she will no longer live here.” I went inside the house and helped them pack. We got everything in the car and drove away. After unloading her things in our apartment, we headed to my house.

       The three of us rode the elevator to the top floor. We stood in front of the door, I put the key in the lock, twisted the knob and walked in with them. Our parents were there talking with my aunt. When they saw us, they all got up. When Hyuna stepped next to me, my father and aunt gasped.

So I found out why mom was mad at me...it's because my aunt called my mom that her daughter was graduating this year. And I care why? I don't know, now I'm not to brag about myself BUT this needs to be said so you can see why I'm pissed that my mom was mad at me. I skipped a year in school, which means I'm graduating this year as a junior (3rd year) my grade point average? 4.0 motha a~! My teachers? They all praise me and I'm an example student.  Interactions with other idiots at school? I'm an all around friendly person, I get along with everyone unless they don't like me then I leave them alone. I've never been suspended, expelled, I've gotten detention but only because I've been late to school a couple of times but that doesn't matter, I always listen to what they say or ask me to do. I get along with my sibblings fairly well, I volunteer as much as I can, I visit/talk to my family members you know to keep friendly between us all. So yeah, and my mom has the damn nerve to tell me to SMART! AND GET MY ACT TOGETHER! What the hell am I supposed to do next, find a cure for cancer? -_- AISH! So yeah, then she's all you should be more like your cousin, she's graduating, and she's nice and smart and blah blah blah! So I retaliate by: SHE HAS A ING KID!!! A ING KID! SHE HAS A KID AT THE AGE OF 18 WITH NO BOYFRIEND/HUSBAND! and she's smart? She's graduating with the barely met criteria, she parties 24/7, and s anything with legs, am I supposed to act like that? Okay I'll stop here because this is getting long. Okay so that was my rant, I'm sorry. I'm not putting to many gifs my laptop's lagging too much~
