Mir’s P.O.V

        Mir is my everything. Those four words kept replaying in my mind over and over again. Every time I remembered them I smiled like crazy. I couldn’t help it. I am so happy to know that Joon feels this way about me. I should confess to him, graduation is looming near and I don’t want to lose my chance. I got off the couch and shouted into the kitchen.

“Omma~ I’ll be back later. I’ll eat something somewhere. Bye.” I skipped out the door and to the bus stop. When I got on there weren’t many people. My mood was so bright and lively, I waved and bowed to everyone as I made my way to a seat. I turned to the ajumma seating next to me and started a conversation.

“Annyong~” I said brightly she looked at me and smiled.

“My what a lovely young man you are.” I blushed at her words and tried hiding behind my hands.

“Thank you ajumma~”

“You’re welcome.”

“I’m so happy today.” I remarked. I can’t hold it in, I’m just too happy. I think I’m going to burst. “Isn’t life beautiful?”

“Aigoo, so cheerful and energetic in the morning. Ahh life is indeed beautiful young man.”

“It is.” I breathed in and sighed. “Can you feel it? Can you smell it? Love is in the air~!” I sung and the woman laughed heartily.

“Whoever has your heart is a lucky person. Treat them right. Bye.” The woman got up and walked out the bus.

“Neh~ bye bye!” I called out after her and smiled. My cheeks almost reach my forehead. That’s how big I’m smiling. When my stop came I got out and walked down the street, I waved at everyone I saw. My phone rang.

“Yoboseoyo~?” I sang into the phone.

-Where are you? We’ve been waiting for almost hour now.- Shouted Jinwoon from the other end.

“I’M HERE~!” I shouted causing everyone to look at me. I just waved and said hello to anyone I saw. Taemin, Seungri, Zelo, Dongwoon, Minhwan, Seunghyun, Chansung, Jinwoon, Dongho, and P.O were all there. I called them two days ago to meet me at a restaurant. I call it: The Meet of The Maknaes! Isn’t it great? Of course it is, I created it. “Alright maknaes~” I clapped and we all set at a table.

“Mir what are we doing here? Please enlighten us.” Said Seungri, taking a drink. I ignored his question and called over the waiter.

“H-hi, what can I get f-f-for you?” she stuttered her roaming over all of us.

“Mmmh…” I hummed looking over the menu. “What do you have on special today?”

The waitress pulled out a note pad and recited what was on it.

“Okay get us 11 orders of that, plus enough samgyupsal for eleven people, what do you guys want to drink?” I looked over at them, no one answered me. “Okay get us eleven cokes as well. Do you have dessert?” She nodded. “Great~! Get us some ice cream, a cake, and a bottle of whip cream.” I finished ordering, and she walked away.

“So Mir what’s the occasion?” asked me Chansung the rest of them just stared at me.

“Can’t a guy just hang out with all the maknaes? Without all our hyungs bothering us?” I replied calmly.

“It just seems a little strange.” Spoke up Jinwoon. “Since you’re always with your MBLAQ hyungs.” Yes we named our group, no one knows who we are except a few people that we hang out with. Some of this maknaes hyungs already graduated just like two of my other hyungs.

“If you guys are really doubting me, I’m just trying to come up with a surprise for Joon. He’s graduating next week remember?”

“Oh that’s right, Zico hyung is already graduating.”

“And my Hongki is leaving me as well.”

“Jokwon hyung is also graduating.”

There were many complaints going around the table as many of our hyungs were graduating. This guys are worst then me! Time to have fun.

“Since our hyungs are graduating we need to show them that us, as maknaes, will be okay without them leading us. Of course we still have the others but our leaders, give us the confidence the others can’t because they’re older and more experienced than us.” I concluded sipping my coke. They just looked at me as if I had grown another head or horns.”By the way where is Kyuhyun?”

“He wasn’t able to escape.”

“Oh, oh well he’s missing out. Do you guys want to go the mall after this?” They all nodded and we agreed on going there after we finished eating. It was still early in the morning. Usually I would be sleeping right now or bothering my other hyungs to take me out shopping or hang out with me. Today was different though because I need to buy Joon a present before he leaves. At the thought of Joon leaving saddened me but I quickly pushed it aside and thought only about happy things.

        When the food arrived, it was as if the animal channel had come to life. All I could see were chopsticks flying here and there. Food zooming into people’s mouths. Straws being ignored as the drinks were being gulped down because of the spiciness. I was chewing my food when my phone rang.

“Yoboseoyo~?” I sung and swallowed my food.

-Mir where are you? We came to your house but your mom said you weren’t home.- It was G.O hyung, I could hear Joon and Seung Ho in the background.

“I’m out.” I said and put more food in my mouth.

-Are you eating right now?-

“Neh~”

-Where are you?-

“Can’t tell you~~~” someone shouted from around me. “Heads up Mir!”

-Who are you with?- Someone threw a piece of samgyupsal at me, I opened my mouth and moaned in satisfaction. –YAH MAKNAE! WHAT IS GOING OVER THERE? TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE, WE’RE COMING OVER.-

“It’s THE MAKNAE MEET~! NO HYUNGS ALLOWED!” I shouted into my phone getting looks from the other clients.

-THE MAK WHAT!?-

“MAKNAE MEET! BYE!” I hung up and turned off my phone. “Yah everyone turn off their phones and hand them over!” I shouted.

“Why?” there were groans and sounds of phones being turned off.

“Because the hyungs are going to want to come looking for us, and they will try to bribe us. So if one of us tattles, our day of fun will be over.” I concluded putting all eleven phones in my backpack.

“That’s smart, okay since we’re finished eating we should head to the mall.” Said P.O

“Mhm” there was shuffling, chair scraping, and groaning from being full sounds coming from all of us. We paid the bill and we began our mission to the mall. “We should get the people who are graduating a present.”

“Good idea, we should also throw them a surprise party.” Chimed in Dongwoon and Minhwan whilst kicking a rock around.

“Great!” we walked in the mall and strutted off into different shops like bosses. We tried on clothes and shoes. We went into a video game store, movie store, book shop. We all took turns on the massaging recliners. Some of us fought but made up right away. We took over the food court and got chased around by girls.

“Mir what are you getting Joon?”

“I don’t know what are you getting Hongki?”

“I don’t know either maybe a pick for his guitar. I could get it engraved or something.”

“Wahh that’s cool. Maybe I should get Joon shoes or clothes, so that he’ll actually use my present and write him a letter.”

“That’s a good idea.” Agreed Seunghyun and Seungri. The others were looking around the store for something to buy. I sighed and looked at a mesh shirt and remembered that day me and Joon came to the mall for the first time. A flood of memories came to me and my heart swelled with happiness. After three or four hours of being at the mall we all found something and began planning the surprise party. It was a graduation party but also a goodbye party for Joon. I felt somewhat sad about this. I was really that he’d confess to me, but I guess that won’t happen even if he feels that way about me. I need to do something about that.

        It’s been one week since our maknae meeting and its graduation day today. It’s a sad and happy day. The sun is shining brightly, everyone is gathering around the school waiting for the graduation ceremony to begin. I was with Joon trying to calm him down. He was acting so cute I couldn’t help myself but to give him a back hug, when he felt my arms wrap around him he grabbed them and pulled me closer. If someone was to see they would think we were a couple. The sad reality of not being one made me pout. Joon turned to face me and saw me pouting.

“Why are you pouting?”

“I’m not, you’re imagining things.” I stomped my foot and strutted to the stage and sat on it. He followed me and sat down next to me.

“What’s wrong? You’ve been in a bad mood for almost two weeks now.” He noticed? Aigoo~

“I’m not in a bad mood~” I tried acting cutely and jumped off the stage. “You’re just crazy.” I stated.

“Mir really what is this about?”

“It’s nothing.” I was about to turn my head but he grabbed my chin. “W-what are you doing?”

“Look at me and tell me what’s wrong. Ever since I met you, you’ve made me tell you everything, I want you to trust me and tell me what’s wrong.”

“You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. You’re really a babo if you can’t tell what’s wrong.” I pulled my chin and stomped away to take my seat. Was I to harsh on him? I don’t care it’s not my fault he can’t figure out how he makes me feel when I see him. When he smiles at me my heart stops, everybody disappears and all I see is him.

Joon’s P.O.V

           After my meeting with Myungsoo I’ve been thinking of a way to confess to Mir but nothing seems to working out. What if he doesn’t feel the same about me? Should I tell him before I get on my plane? No, what if he rejects me. Or maybe I should just tell him out of nowhere and hope for the best? Ani that might just freak him out and make him hate me. I racked my head for ideas all week but nothing seemed to work. It was either to cheesy or just plain wrong. I was getting worried because my graduation was close. I decided to call up Seung Ho, G.O and Onew. Onew picked me up and we met with the 87 line at M!Café .

“What’s the matter now Joon?” they asked me as soon as I sat down.

“Is it that obvious?”

“Well let’s see, you’ve been acting worst than a girl on her period towards everybody.” Began G.O but Seung Ho cut him off.

“Don’t mind him, he’s also PMS’ing because he lost our bet and shaved his mustache.” I nodded and looked at them with puppy eyes. “Is this about Mir?” I nodded again and they sighed.

“I just don’t know how to confess to him. I want to do it, but what if he rejects me? What if that just freaks him out and he won’t ever talk to me again? Or wh-”

“Calm down babo. If you don’t tell him how you feel, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.” Said Seung Ho

“I agree, why don’t you buy him a plane ticket and ask him to go to California with you for the summer?” suggested Onew.

“If I can’t confess to him, what makes you think I can ask him if he wants to spend his summer with me in California?” The three of them looked at each other and came to an agreement.

“Onew has a good idea, ask him to go with you, and when before the summers over and he returns tell him how you feel. That way if he doesn’t feel the same way, you can just send him off without regretting anything, and you won’t ever wonder what could have been.”

I took long drink form my frapuccino and thought it over. I was really considering it but where would I find the time to buy a ticket? As if the gods had heard my cell phone rang.

“Yoboseoyo?”

-Hyung it’s me.-

“Ah neh wha do you need?” the other side went quiet.

-I can’t accompany you this summer, aunty won’t let me go~ I tried talking to her and telling her how sad you’d be if you went alone but she wouldn’t give in. I’m going to the Philippines with her instead. Miahne hyung.- I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This kid, we had planned on going together because we hadn’t been able to hang out in over a year. My cousin just does whatever he pleases and decided to inform me at the last minute, but then again this is good news.

“Arasso, just bring the ticket with you when you come for my graduation alright?”

-Neh hyung~ I got to go, noona is telling me she needs the phone. Bye see you in one week.-

“Bye.” I hung up and pumped my fist in the air.

“What was all that about?” asked me Seung Ho taking a bite of the chicken salad in front of him.

“I’m taking Mir to California with me.” I replied happily taking a bite of my salad as well.

            A week has gone by like lighting, and I’m graduating today. I’ve been thinking how to ask Mir to go with me. I already talked with his mom and she’s fine with him going, my dad could care less. I was getting nervous as the clock ticked down to the ceremony, Mir walked in looking as cute as ever and smiling big.

“HYUNG~! CONGRATULATIONS!” He shouted nearing me. He’s so loud but that’s one of his charms.

“Kahmsaminda Mireu.” I extended my arms and he hugged me. What would I have done if you hadn’t shown up?

“Neh~ hyung you look so cool and grown up! I’m so envious, I still have one year until I graduate.”

“Don’t worry one year will go by fast.” I replied and walked to the rack to grab my cap. I was trying to fix the tassels on it but they just wouldn’t stay in place. I felt Mir come up behind me and hug me. I grabbed his arms and pulled him closer to me. I wish we could this way for ever. I wanted to his face but when I turned around he was pouting. Mir if you knew how I wish I could kiss those pouty lips! I asked him what was wrong but he just shouted at me and stormed out of the room. What’s wrong with him? I didn’t have time to think about because someone covered my eyes.

“SURPRISE!”

“YAH! Do you want to die?”

“Aish so touchy.”

“Sorry, you just surprised. Did you bring the ticket?” I asked the guy in front of me.

“Neh, see?” he waved the ticket in my face then put it away. “So who are you taking?”

“Someone.”

“Oh, okay. Someone who’s name is Mir~?” This kid he really wants to die today. I was about to hit his forehead when my aunt came in.

“You two always at it for one thing or another.” She laughed and hugged me.

“He started it~” cried my cousin and I pinched him without my aunty looking.

“We’ll see you after the ceremony, we’re going to go take our seats.” She said and they waved good bye. Seung Ho and G.O came in the room after they left.

“Hey man, finally its your turn!” declared G.O giving me a pat on the back.

“Congrats, told you, you could do it.” Remarked Seung Ho giving me a hug.

“Thanks you guys, I couldn’t have done it without you.” I said and thanked them sincerely. I finally got the tassels just right and I put on my cap.

“Look at you looking like a real graduate.” Said Onew approaching me, followed by the rest of SHINee. They all hugged me and then all of them excused themselves to go find their seats. In was all alone until I was called up to line up with the others. The ceremony dragged on until one hour passed and it was over. I walked down the stage with the certificate in my hand. When I saw all of my friends I pumped my fist in the air and shouted a YEAH~! They all ran up to me and squished me in a group hug, we went around congratulating everybody else. I was carrying around a bunch of flowers and other presents. I noticed Mir was being quiet which wasn’t like him

“What’s wrong?” I asked Mir as I walked by his side. He shook his head but didn’t say anything. “Mir is someone bothering you.” He shook his head again. “Did something happen?” he nodded. “What was it?”

“Something big happened but I can’t tell you.” I was starting to worry.

“HYUNG! LOOK AT THIS!” I heard my cousin yelling and waving his arms at me. I grabbed Mir’s hand and dragged him with me.

“Mir this is my cousin Cheongdoong just call him Thunder. Thunder this is Mir.” I introduced them. Mir was being shy and hid behind me and waved.

“Hi, I’m Mir nice to meet you.” I smiled at his shyness which was out of character for the bubbly Mir I know.

“I’m Thunder, nice to meet you as well.” After greeting each other, Mir became bright again and talked with everyone. When I went close to him he found an excuse to leave. After leaving the school we drove to someone’s house.

“Mir what are we doing here again?” I asked eyeing the place, many people were gathering outside. I recognized most of the people but some of them were form other schools.

“Don’t ask questions just park somewhere.” I did as instructed when I parked Mir tied a blindfold around my head and guided me into the house. Everything was quiet, he placed me next to someone. When he removed my blindfold I saw some of our other friends that graduated and lots of other people we knew.

“CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES!” They shouted when our blindfolds were removed and our eyes adjusted to the light.

“What’s this?” I asked looking around.

“Well you only graduate from high school once, its not an everyday thing. You have to make great memories!” answered Mir.

“Thank you Mireu.” He looked away.

          We partied until the wee hours of the morning. I didn’t know Mir was such a party animal, but I guess it wouldn’t take a genius to figure that out due to his outgoing personality. Neither of us drunk, but we had fun. I don’t remember when we fell asleep but when I woke up it was around two in the afternoon. My flight left in an hour. I shook Mir who was laying across my lap holding onto my thighs like his life depended on it. I smiled at the sight of his disheveled hair and the way he looked so beautiful when the sun shone on his face. Get a grip of yourself Joon. I commanded myself and shook Mir once again.

“Omma~ five more minutes.” He cried in his sleep and held on tighter to my legs. I chuckled and whispered in his ear.

“I’m not your mom.” His eyes fluttered open and he looked around alarmed. “Mir…” my hand hovered above his shoulder but he swatted it away.

“Who are you?” he asked me sitting up.

“Mir you’re such a drama queen, it’s Joon.” He rubbed his sleepy eyes and looked up at me.

“Sorry hyung.” He said and hugged me in his sleepy state.

“It’s fine, I have to go though. My flight’s in an hour.” I said and he shot up with wide eyes.

“Let’s go find the other hyungs they should be somewhere around here, the last time I saw them Thunder hyung and Yesung hyung were pretending to be turtles. G.O was shouting he was a bear and was crawling around the kitchen floor looking for honey, and Seung Ho and Onew hyung were fighting over what was the best way to eat chicken by the pool.” We burst out laughing remembering what happened last night. Or was it this morning? Either way it was fun. Mir jumped on my back and held on tight to my neck, I walked into the kitchen looking for G.O and breakfast at the same time. We found some waffles in the freezer but no G.O. I pulled out two waffles and put them in the toaster when they were done I hand one to Mir.

“Mmmh~ WAFFERS~!” I laughed at his pronunciation and bit into my waffle as well. We continued our hunt for the hyungs. We found Seung Ho and Onew hugging pieces of fried chicken in their sleep, G.O was sleeping next to them. We woke them up and handed them waffles as well. They followed behind as we looked for Thunder and Yesung. When we found them they were clutching a cut out of a turtle. I was hit by Thunder when I woke him up but he woke up nevertheless.

“I don’t have much time until my flight leaves so I’m just going to pick up my luggage from my house.” I said. Seung Ho then piped up.

“No need for that, we already got your bags, they’re in the trunk of my car.”

“oh okay, thanks. Do you guys want to get rid of me that badly?” I asked jokingly.

“ANI! We’re just trying to make everything easier for you hung.” Cried Mir from his seat. “By the way we knew you wouldn’t have time to change or shower if you went home so we bought you some clothes as a present. Now go shower!” Mir scolded me like I was a child but I obliged. I was finished with my shower when I noticed I didn’t have a towel. Who showers in someone else’s home without checking for a towel first? I called out for Mir, I was about to get back in the shower when he came in.

‘Neh hyung?” his eye widened and he turned around. “Oh my god. Sorry hyung I didn’t mean to.”

“I-it’s alright, just hand me a towel.” He walked out with his eyes glued to the floor. He came back with a towel, handed it to me and walked back out. After I got dressed, I joined the others in the living room. The owner of the house, Leeteuk hyung, had finally shown up. Everybody else was already dressed and ready to go.

           We drove to the airport, we had ten minutes before my plane left. I said good bye to everyone and then pulled Mir to the side.

“Mir I-”

“Hyung I have something to-”

“Before you say anything I want to ask you something.” I was sweating. When I looked at him his eyes were wide and his mouth formed a cute little ‘O’. “Do you want to go to California with me for the summer?” His face said it all. He was shocked, he couldn’t believe it. “It’s alright if you say no.” I looked away feeling embarrassed.

“No hyung! I’d love to!!! But my mom, she’d never let me go.” He looked down at the floor. Is that what he’s worried about? I smiled and lifted up his head.

“I already talked to her, she’s fine with it.”

“I don’t have any clothes.”

“We shared my clothes last time remember? We can also buy you clothes when we arrive.” He began jumping around like a giant hyped up squirrel. The other’s looked over at us. We walked back over ot them.

“Well our flights about to leave.” I announced. They looked at us puzzled.

“Our?”

“Yeah Mir’s coming with me.” I declared happily.

“Ahh so that’s how it turned out. Have a great time you crazy kids.” After saying good byes all over again me and Mir boarded our plane. Prepare yourself Mir by the end of this summer, you’re going to get the biggest surprise of your life.
