CALL YOU BAE - JIMIN & XIUMIN

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lp6TFH8B6Y

You turned off the tap and reached your hand out in search of a nearby towel to dry your face. In an instant, you felt the familiar cotton fabric at the edge of your fingertips. But when you yanked for it, it did not budge. Blinking one eye open, you searched for the reason as to why it was stuck in it’s place when you noticed Mingyu standing there holding onto it with a big, mischievous grin on his face. No wonder it wouldn’t move! That boy was trying to trick you into believing it was stuck when really, he was the culprit for holding it back.

“Give me my towel!” You complained with a scowl. Placing your palm out, you waited for him to hand it back to you. Nothing annoyed you more than having water in your eyes, which was exactly the reason why you never wanted to go swimming.

“Give me, give me, never get, don’t you know your manners yet?” teased Mingyu as he wagged an index finger back and forth in front of your face, while his other hand had the towel held up high.

“What are you? In grade school? Give me my towel before the water goes in my eyes, Mingyu!” You tried to snatch it out of his hands, but Mingyu was two steps ahead of you.

He jumped back, landing himself out in the living room. “I’m not going to give you it back to you unless you say please…” Then he grinned even bigger, if that was even possible. “And oh, also if you give me a kiss. I want lots of kisses. Right here specifically noona,” teased Mingyu as he pointed to his lips with a pouty face.

“No. You’re being ridiculous,” you said, though as much as you wanted to keep up the nonchalant charade, the corners of your lips were beginning to quirk up. “Give it to me before I flip you upside down and sideways Kim Mingyu.”

Hearing the stern tone in your voice, Mingyu narrowed his eyes for a good three seconds. You looked so cute with one eye closed while the other one was casting a glare his way in demand for your towel, he couldn’t help but snicker in amusement.

Ever since Mingyu had kissed you at Namsan tower’s restaurant, it became quite blatantly clear that you two had unofficially declared your feelings with each other. Although he had not personally asked you to become his girlfriend, nor have you confessed your feelings to him, it was undoubtedly obvious that the kiss was a validation of your feelings towards each other.

But even so, a Kiss was just kiss until somebody actually said something about it. Though you two were now well aware of each other’s sincere feelings, the status quo between you two was going to remain the same until somebody broke the silence. Even though from time to time, you would find yourself in his embrace with his lips pressed against yours during the night, he was still Kim Mingyu the alien Prince and you were still Shin Hari, his land lady.

How you treated him before was not any different than how you treated him now, though it could be said entirely different about him. Everything that led up to the kiss, flew out the window. It was as if the kiss had resonated something inside of him, bringing forth a new person to come out of his shell. Mingyu had never considered himself to be much of a love bug back at the Palace, in fact, he had never been in love at all. The kiss had struck a chord with him, causing him to act a bit more strangely than he usually did nowadays. He wasn’t sure if it was the flood of emotions or if he had been on Earth for far too long which is to blame for his odd behaviour, but he clung onto that warm fuzzy feeling each time he stared into your eyes. It was almost as if once he locked eyes with yours, the world spun dizzily around you two but your gaze held him right in his place.

“Um, hello? Earth to Mingyu? Towel!”

Breaking out of his reverie, Mingyu shuffled back into the washroom. Seeing the scowl deepen on your face made him cave in. How could someone scowl and still make it look so damn cute? As much as you hated to be associated with the words ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’ since you were older than him, those were the words that suited you best in Minyu’s eyes. “Alright, alright. I’ll stop messing around with you,” said Mingyu, his playful demeanour disappearing as it was replaced by a more gentle look. Closing in on the space between the two of you, he carefully opened up your towel and began to gently dab it around your face. Little by little, you felt whatever trickle of moisture begin to fade away.

When he was done, you opened your eyes to look at him.

“Tip please. $10 would be nice, and perhaps a new pair of shoes,” said Mingyu, smirking slightly until a sudden thought brightened his features. “Or maybe a kiss?” He closed his eyes and puckered up his lips.

“Yeah right,” you stuck out your tongue and tipped his head back. “I’ve had enough of your games tonight, Mingyu. We have more important matters to deal with than… kisses.” With that, you hip bumped him to the side and sauntered out of the washroom with a secret, tiny smile.

Is it just me or has she gotten more feisty since the kiss? I knew I should have held back, now she thinks she’s the queen of the world, huh? Chuckling to himself, Mingyu turned off the lights and followed you out.

Within a couple of seconds, a handful of this week’s newspapers were in your hands as the two of you sat in your living room, eyes fixated on the job section of the paper. Despite your Boss’s pleas for you to return to Kyotos Noodle Bar, you turned your back on him and refused to pick up any of his calls. Rijin hadn’t found a new job either, but she had sworn on Big Bang’s lives that she would never, ever, return to that god forsaken place because of what the boss had done to you. No matter how much you tried to reason with yourself that going back wasn’t that big of a deal, both Mingyu and Rijin objected the idea of returning. Even though money was scarce and you were literally spending the last of your savings, it was better to keep searching for a better place than to stay somewhere with someone who made you feel ty.

Plus if Rijin wasn’t there, there was zero chances of you being there either. You two were a packaged deal, no Rijin means no Hari.

Occasionally, Mingyu would find a good place that had all the skills that you had but was only offering for a full time position. With exams and summer just around the corner, you were definitely hoping to find a full time position so that you could spend the whole summer making back the money you had been using from your savings account. Even though your boss had given you the last paycheque, that cheap douchebag still deducted part of the pay because of the plates and bowls.

“Are you sure you don’t want to just give them a call and ask?” asked Mingyu, circling one job offer and pointing towards it with a red marker.

You shook your head adamantly, “No, it’s okay. Usually when they are looking for workers, they want them now. I won’t be done school until a month and a half from now. By the time I am done, they probably would have found someone else.”

“What happened to the ‘Just give it a shot, you never know until you give it a try’ motto that you once gave me?” inquired Mingyu, his lips curling up into a smirk.

“I don’t know, they do seem quite in a rush to find someone,” you replied, pointing to the smaller words below the description of the job that said ‘Needed now’.

“Oh yeah, how did I miss that?” frowned Mingyu, picking up the paper to get a closer inspection of the small words. “Why would they make the font so small anyways? What if I have terrible eyes and misread that without seeing the bottom part?”

“You mean like just now?” You giggled. Mingyu made a face, mumbling something about disrespecting his princely charms under his breath and went back to searching through the pages. You couldn’t help but let your smile broaden as you stared at him, feeling every part of your body tingle with warmth knowing that the person next to you was trying his best to help you find a job. It was tedious work and you had told him to just go hang out with his friends but he had insisted that by doing this boring chore, it would help him gain more knowledge of Earthlings and their workforce.

A couple of hours went by and within those few hours, Mingyu had ordered popeyes to fill your empty stomachs. As you guys worked hard on finding a new job, you guys also ate chicken and chatted in between. When there was ketchup stains on your cheeks, Mingyu would lean over casually and wipe it away with his thumb softly before shifting back comfortably in his seat. When you found a funny photo on the paper you would reach over to show Mingyu and crack some jokes about it, while every time he saw something related to astrology, he would read it out loud so that you could hear it. The lively banter between you and Mingyu did not cease, even when the crack of dawn began to spill through the curtains.

Mingyu was immune to staying up until the wee hours of the morning so he wasn’t aware of how quickl
