Dear Nikka,

             I know you were just joking and still shocked, but I want to prove that I'm the real Kim Jonghyun.  There's been a lot of forgery lately, and I don't want to get involved like that.  So, there'll be pictures attached to this note.  And relax, because I've just taken these pictures with Onew hyung and Minho.  Most likely this hasn't been seen on the internet, so you're one lucky fan.

             Onew hyung and Minho are getting suspicious, because there's been even crazier fans out there in the world that try to get close to their idols, or worse, they're antifans and they try to ruin the idols they hate.  Do you know about DBSK's incident with an antifan before?  It really came as a shock to me.  I'm trusting that you don't show my photos with anyone else and that you'd share me some of yours?  I promise not to post it publicly or anything. Hehe~

              Honestly, I'm happy to hear from you.  Taemin's happy as well.  You made him cry tears of joy! :D  He says thank you, by the way.  He's already calling you Noona~ and you two are already the same age, so what gives? Haha Joking!  Forget about what Onew hyung and Minho are trying to say - I just used this as an excuse to get some pictures of you.  You know, since you have some of mine, a fair trade? ;)

Nikka was working hard on her summer project until her mother entered my room, tossing her an envelope.  The rest of the mail she was holding was either hers or Nikka's father's.  Nikka was surprised she hasn't read her mail lately.  Since she's the good child of the family, she only opens her mail when it has something to do with her grades.

Thank God Nikka's mother was too busy screaming at the rotten kid she has to tutor to even pay attention to the mail she gave her.  As soon as she left, Nikka was on her bed, carefully opening the envelope to find a letter in messy cute handwriting, along with a few polaroid shots of Kim Jonghyun in his pajamas. (Imagine him in smiling poses also wearing this with it.)

Puzzled, she read the letter, her jaw slowly dropping and her eyes bulging out of her sockets.

A few hours later, Nikka's little sister, Connie, enters the bedroom that they share together.  She stared in disbelief as she saw her older sister cutting pictures of herself from a printed paper.  It seems that Nikka took pictures of herself in her regular outfit.  (Imagine her in smiling poses also wearing this with it.) 

Connie stared a her tomboy sister.  Instead of her summer project, Nikka did something else productive.  She started searching on her laptop and began writing.  It was then she found Jonghyun's letter and photos on the edge of the bed.  She picked them up and carefully read it, her face forming a frown.

"Ate?" (They're Filipino Americans.  Ate is a former name for younger girls and guys to call the slightly elder girls.)

"Hm?"  Nikka looked up to find Connie putting the letter back on the bed.  She stopped writing her letter to Jonghyun and studied her little sister's facial expression.  It was full of disbelief.

"You don't seriously think that THE Kim Jonghyun would reply back to you, right?"

"Eh?"

"Oh, come on!  I mean, one of the workers at SM must've had to respond back to fan letters."

"But, the photos -"

"Ate!  Wake up!  One of their coordinators must've taken a picture of him like this.  Don't be so gullible!"  Connie shouted in her sister's face and let out a frustrated sigh.

Nikka worried for a second if something at drumline practice had occurred and made Connie so irrational with her feelings.  Right now the little girl sat on the bed next to Nikka's bed and immediately went online to go on Super Junior fansites.  Although Connie likes the SM artists, she never liked the company to begin with.  She believes she knows how the entertainment works even though she has never been in showbizness.

Still, Nikka couldn't help but think deeply about what her little sister had said.  Then again, she felt like she had a decent conversation with a friend when it came to Jonghyun.  Most of her friends in America are not what she expected to be.  Her first friend was pressured into hating her, her second friend was under the influence of other peers, and then afterwards she decided to close her heart and only be close friends to guys at her school.

Another reason for closing her heart was because she didn't want to go through rejection badly, so Nikka pretends to act like a tomboy and dress in boyish baggy clothing, not caring when girls call her "lesbian", "fake", or "fat" due to the bagginess of her clothes.  The worse part is that no one stands up for her, especially her guy friends, because they take those matters lightly.  She always fakes a laugh and jokes around as well, not knowing that her sister's been watching her.

That's why Connie speaks honestly about her opinion to Nikka.  So that she won't end up getting hurt in the end.

The irony of having your little sister acting like the older one in the family. :P

Nikka thought about it a bit more, then rewrote her letter to Jonghyun.  She's pouring part of her heart here, just a part, and hope that Jonghyun answers with sincerity - if he's even Jonghyun.  Connie could be right for all Nikka knows....
