Have some Junhui love! Happy Birthday Junhui! ^^ <3 Well over here in Canada it’s June 10th whereas it’s June 11th in Korea…does that mean I missed his birthday? :c Oh well then, I’ll still consider that it’s his birthday~

Frosting

”_______-ah, will you please bake me some cupcakes?” Junhui asked. You shook your head, “Remember the last time we baked cupcakes together?” Junhui laughed as he thought back.

"Oh yeah, we exploded the oven," Junhui said and laughed. You playfully rolled your eyes, "You mean you exploded it! I asked you to look after it as I went out to get some more flour then I came back to hear the smoke detector going off.”

"Well it was funny, wasn’t it?" Junhui asked. You playfully rolled your eyes as you returned to watching Infinity Challenge on the TV. Since the moment he came over this morning, your best friend, Junhui was consistently pestering you to bake cupcakes with him.

"Well how about this time, we go and get all the ingredients and I won’t touch the oven at all," Junhui suggested. You raised an eyebrow, testing to see that he wouldn’t mess around with the oven.

"Okay okay maybe that won’t work but we’ll get all the ingredients and you’ll make sure I won’t," Junhui suggested again. You sighed, "Fine." His face brightened and he smiled.

"It’s like I’m taking care of a little kid," you joked. "Hey! I’m not a little kid! Oh and for your information, I’m older than you!" He replied. "By 4 days! FOUR DAYS!" You said.

He chuckled as the two of you walked outside the house. You see, Junhui may strike as the quiet, shy boy but once you get closer to him, you’ll find out that he just loves to tease people. Not only that but he also loves to laugh a lot.

"Earth to ________? Hello?!" Junhui shouted. You shook of your thoughts to hear Junhui practically shouting in your ear. "Yah! Don’t shout right into my ear!" You scolded him.

"Well sorry, you were blanking out into space and you didn’t hear a thing I said," Junhui replied. "Oh well sorry about that," you quickly apologized.

Shortly after, you were able to make it to the nearby supermarket. Junhui grabbed a basket as you took out the list of ingredients that you tucked into your pocket.

"Okay so we need eggs, flour, baking soda, baking powder, buttermilk, sug-" "Whoa, calm down, we’ll slowly get what we need so there’s no need to rush," Junhui said.

You laughed and he joined in. The two of you walked around the grocery store, walking from one aisle to another as you filled the cart up with the necessary ingredients.

"Okay so we have everything we need, let’s go pay," you said. You started walking up ahead until you noticed that Junhui wasn’t following you.

You turned around to see him staring at the cookies he wanted before. Sighing heavily, you walked back towards him and threw the box of cookies into the cart.

"Now let’s go pay," you said. You could hear his quiet ‘Yes’ behind you as you started to walk towards the cash register. You playfully rolled your eyes.

After you bought all the necessary components to your cupcake baking, the two of you walked home. Well, Junhui was too eager and ran up ahead while you were trailing behind him.

"Well isn’t someone a bit too eager?" You said as you caught up to him. He was tapping his foot as he crossed his arm, waiting for you to open the door.

As you tried to open the door, the keys dropped to the floor since the amount of items in the grocery bag was weighing you down. Junhui quickly stooped down, grabbed the keys and swiftly unlocked the door.

He ran inside with the other groceries and into the kitchen. You laughed as he was vigorously unpacking the groceries.

"Just how exactly how excited are you Junhui?" You asked as you placed the groceries onto the table. "Very," he replied as he unpacked the rest of the groceries.

You chuckled as you put on the bright yellow apron. You lifted your hair up and you were about to tie the apron around your neck with your free hand until you felt Junhui behind you, tying it.

"There now hurry up! I want to decorate the cupcakes and eat them!" Junhui said. You turned around to see that he had already set most of the things up.

Your eyes widened at how quick he was at setting things up. “Okay so what do we do first?” He asked. You playfully smiled at him before starting to instruct him on what to do first since he insisted on making the cupcakes.

"Okay now break 4 four eggs," you told him. He took an egg from the carton and broke into the bowl. However, he wasn’t very successful as the egg shell cracked and dropped into the bowl.

"Uh, I think you should do it," he said quickly as he stepped to the side. You laughed, "Well luckily it’s in a separate bowl." Before breaking another egg, you tried your best to take out all the egg shells that was caught up in the yolk.

After you broke 3 more eggs, you mixed everything together. “Can I whisk it?” Junhui asked. You nodded your head and handed him the bowl with the whisk.

"Just please make sure you don’t make it spill anywhere like last time. I don’t want to make a new one," you said. He didn’t say anything, instead, he started laughing as he whisked away.

After a while, you stopped him from whisking then grabbed the ladle. “Okay, be careful and don’t overfill the pan,” you instructed him as you switched the ladle and whisk.

"Don’t you trust me _______? I know, don’t you worry!" Junhui said. "But you ove-" He cut you off. "That was when we were 12, we’re 18 now so don’t worry. I’ve become more responsible and my culinary skills improved."

You took his word for it but you couldn’t help but be a bit anxious about the cupcakes. As he was filling up the pan, you were cleaning up some of the mess and made room for decorating them.

"Finished," he said. He set the bowl down onto the table and opened the preheated oven. "How long do I set it?" he asked as he closed the door.

"Let me set it, since last time you basically exploded them," you said. You scurried over to the oven and set all the settings to the correct place.

"Okay so now all we hav-" You turned around to continue talking but were cut off by having flour thrown at your face. As you wiped it off, Junhui was standing there, clutching his stomach as he laughed away.

"Oh it’s on!" You shouted as you took a fistful of flour. You threw it at him and it hit part of his neck and shoulder. "Bring it on!" He said. He also took a handful of flour.

Soon enough, you two were having a food battle as you waited for the cupcakes to finish baking. Even though the two of you were having fun, the kitchen became even messier.

You giggled and stayed a meter away from him. He was slowly approaching you with the handful of flour in his hand. “Come here _______-ah,” Junhui taunted.

Giggling as you backed away, you accidentally bumped into the shelf which caused a glass cup to fall onto the floor. Before you knew it, you were far away from the shattered glass on the floor.

"Yah! Watch where you’re going ________!" Junhui scolded. Your heart was beating twice as fast from the quick movements. However, your heartbeat quickened even more when you turned to notice that you were pressed against Junhui’s chest.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" He asked, he grabbed onto your shoulders and examined everywhere to make sure there weren’t any big visible cuts.

"N-no, t-thanks though," you stammered. He sighed in relief, "Be more careful! You could’ve gotten hurt!" He said. You nodded your head as you took a dust pan and brush.

You were about to sweep up the mess until Junhui took away the dust pan and brush. “Here, let me do it. I don’t want you to get hurt,” he said. He bent down and swept away the shattered piece of glass.

Turning around, you were about to clean up the flour mess you made until you heard Junhui yelp. You quickly turned around to see that Junhui’s hand was bleeding.

Your eyes widened and you quickly took the first aid kit from the table and opened up the kit. You grabbed a bandage and a wet cloth from the sink as you bent down towards Junhui.

"Are you okay?" You asked him as you tended for his wound. "I’m fine," he replied. "Gosh that glass is sharper than it looks." He muttered underneath his breath.

After you finished tending for his wound, you quickly swept all the pieces of glass. As you swept away, you ignored the constant pleas of Junhui wanting to sweep.

"You’re going to get hurt like I did! I don’t want you to get hurt!" He pleaded. You ignored him and kept sweeping until all the glass was collected.

Carefully, you walked over to the trash can and dumped the glass away. As you turned around, you heard a ding coming from the oven. You were about to grab the oven mitts until Junhui snatched it.

He put them on and opened the oven door as he took the pan out. He carefully placed it onto the table. “See? It didn’t explode this time! It looks good too!” He said.

You smacked away his hand as he was attempting to take a cupcake. “Not until we decorate it!” He pouted and sighed as he sat down onto a chair.

He separated the cupcakes evenly with the both of you have 6 cupcakes. “Okay go ahead and add the cookies you wanted to your cupcake,” you said and he laughed.

"So what? Do I just stab it into the cupcake?" He asked. You giggled and shook your head. "If you want but I doubt it’ll stand," you replied as you decorated your cupcake.

"There we go, viola!" You heard him say. You glanced up to see that he actually stabbed the cookie into the cupcake with frosting all over the surface of it.

You exploded into laughter and he soon joined in. “Wow I never thought you’d actually do it!” “Well it worked didn’t it?” He said and laughed.

You were about to go back to decorating your cupcake but Junhui poked your arm. You turned your head to him and he said, “You have some frosting on your face.”

"Where?" You asked. He didn’t answer, instead, he used his fingers and smeared blue frosting onto your lips. "Yah!" You giggled. He chuckled and wiped away the blue frosting on his fingers.

You reached for a napkin on the table but Junhui stopped you. “Here, let me wipe it off for you,” he said. Before you could protest, his lips were on yours.

You couldn’t help but giggle a bit before giving in and kissing back. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

Shortly after, you pulled away. He his lips clean, “Well that was sweet.” “So what does that make us now?” You asked. He placed his forehead against yours.

"What do you think?" He asked. "Hmm, I don’t know," you paused for a while and pretended to think. "Cupcake buddies?" You joked and he softly laughed.

"Let my cupcake show you," he said. You arched your brow and you glanced over to his cupcake. In pink frosting, it said, 'I like you. Be my girlfriend?'

Though the writing was a bit squished due to the small amount of space. “Of course I will,” you said. He gave you a quick peck on the lips before eating up his cupcake.

You broke off a piece of the other end of his cupcake and stuffed it into your mouth. “So how is it?” You asked. He quickly swallowed the cupcake.

"It’s sweet but I know what’s sweeter," he said. You raised a brow at him. "What’s sweeter than your 5 frosting layered cupcake?" You asked and giggled. He chuckled at your joke.

"You," he said. He pecked your lips and you pouted. "Kiss please?" You pouted and gave him puppy dog eyes. He shook his head and took a bit of red frosting as he dabbed it onto the tip of his nose.

"If I can have your cupcakes," he said and kissed your nose. "Go ahead, I’d rather have something sweeter," you said. He grinned before going in for another kiss. A much sweeter, long lasting one this time.

For Junhui! Happy 18th birthday! Even though it’s like 11:07 am, June 11th over there…Go figure.

Well I hope you anticipate my next one shot! I currently have a lot of one shots in my drafts that I’m finishing up right now so the next one is going to be a surprise! ;)
