Hello, readers. As you can see, this is an extra chapter for my awesome readers~ And note, this is from L's Point of View~ I'm revealing L's thoughts in this chapter so I hope you enjoy~ :)

The first time we met was when I spotted you in the middle of the woods playing with your parents. With only a quick glimpse of you, I could tell you were one special girl. You got me stunned with your pale yet delicate face, your long hair and slender arms. But that didn’t matter.

What mattered to me the most was your beautiful smile.

At that time, I knew I fell in love with you.

And from that moment on, I chose my own path, not the others’ path but only mine. I chose to protect you even if you won’t be able to acknowledge my presence. Even if you don’t know me. It didn’t matter to me…

“Myungsoo-ah, where’ve you been?” Dongwoo interrogated as I nervously rubbed the back of my neck, “Err, somewhere.”

I couldn’t possibly tell them about her. I just…couldn’t.

Snapping me out of my thoughts, Dongwoo patted my shoulder, “Come on. We have a vampire to kill.” I nodded slightly as they flooded outside of our hideout. I sighed unknowingly.

I just wish that vampire could possibly be the one I’ve wanted to kill all this time.

I started to hate vampires for the first time because one of them hurt my precious. The one I’ve been protecting all this time. The one who I truly love.

I took my silver dagger and headed out of the house, ready to hunt the said vampire.

“Myungsoo, you’ve been spacing out lately,” Sunggyu patted my back hard enough to bring me back to reality.

I just flashed him a small smile. I admit, I did space out a lot these days but it was worth enough. I just wanted to see more of her smiling face. At the thought of that, I unconsciously let out a sincere smile.

I wish one day, she’d smile for me. One day…

“Everyone, meet Kim Myungsoo.”

I could sense the girls grinning ear-to-ear as loud squeal escaped their brightly colored lips. My eyes searched for her and there she was. Sitting in front of my eyes.

Her gentle appearance didn’t fail to mesmerize myself. My heart fluttered each time I took a step towards her. She looked at me with confused look. Look how cute she was.

My lips twitched and soon curved upwards, forming a smile.

I took a seat behind her. She glanced at me slightly. So, this is how it’s going to start then.

Finally, I got to meet her. I vow I’ll always stay beside you starting from now on.

“Um, Myung Soo-sshi, is there something wrong with my face?” She started suddenly as she looked down at her shoes.

For a second, I couldn’t make out what she was saying as I was lost in my own world. I blinked, “I’m sorry for looking at you like that.”

“Can we be friends?” I brought up the main subject. “E-excuse me?” She blinked for a few times.

“Can we be friends from now on?” I made a very simple request to her. Very simple indeed. “Are you sure?” She asked with a hint of doubt in her tone.

“Yes, I am. Why? Is there something wrong with that?” This felt really odd to me.

“Won’t you regret being friends with someone like me? Everyone here…you know…” She trailed off as she nervously looked around, feeling really…insecure.

I gave her an encouraging look for her to continue with her sentence. “…Everyone hates me here…” She whispered softly with a weak tone.

Everyone’s really blind. Why couldn’t they look at her properly? She’s the most beautiful person for me yet they even had the nerve to hate her? How pathetic.

“I don’t care. What I care is that I want to your friend.” With those encouraging words, her eyes turned wide.

“Thank you,” She managed to put her head up and…there it was, her precious smile. I’ve been yearning to see her smile for me and there it was.

No words could describe how happy I was.

I managed to even make her cry aside from making her smile. She was shaking my body with her trembling, cold hands. Truth to be told, I was a bit disappointed with myself.

Right in front of me, she was crying. Those familiar crystal-like tears fell down her cheeks. It was the same as that time. The time where she was bawling for her mother to come back. Ah…Kim Myungsoo, you failed.

You made her cry, Myungsoo. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Please don’t cry.

Her lips wouldn’t stop moving. She called my name continuously. I closed my eyes shut. Her sorrowful voice hurt me the most rather than this wound I’ve received.

Please…don’t cry. I’m sorry. I failed.

All I did was smile. I hoped it could ease her a bit. She squeezed her eyes shut.

Please smile. It hurt me even more if you cry. Ah, how I wish I could let out those words. However, the pain in my chest held me back. I lost my breath. My breath became shaky and heavy.

I love you. Unknowingly, my lips moved. She heard it all. She continued crying.

At that time, a familiar white object fell onto my cheek. It felt cold. It’s snowing…How ironic. I chuckled in a weak voice. I extended my hand and rubbed the tear off her face.

“Don’t cry…smile for me,” I ordered. She gulped and closed her eyes. I could see she was trying hard to fight off the tears in order to show me her sweet smile.

“I hope you’ll be happy,” I mumbled. I could feel the excruciating pain in my chest becoming stronger. My throat was dry and my cough became shaky and weak. At that time, I knew death was just right beside me. It’s just waiting for me to close my eyes and leave everything behind.

Death was definitely here and there’s no turning back.

The moment seemed very slow and I could no longer hear her voice. My vision became blurry as time went on and on.

I guess my work here’s done. She’s found someone who could protect her and love her just like I did. One thing for sure is, my love’s stronger than his.

I was definite that she’ll be happy with him. She deserved him. She deserved to be happy and I have no rights to make her happy anymore. I only caused her to suffer.

“I love you…goodbye,” That was the only thing I’d wanted to say to her. For sure, I have no regrets leaving her now.

Good things only last for a while, after all.

All your smiles, our memories together and your happiness, I’ll cherish it in my heart. I’m sure we’ll meet again…someday.
