Battlefield

The Monster That Steals Her Heart

-------------------------------------------

In the meantime, Zico and the others were battling as best as they could. No matter how much they killed the enemies, more enemies appeared. Just how much allies did they have?

The atmosphere seemed tense, almost looking like a battlefield.

“Dammit! It’s getting more and more annoying! I’m tired already!” Jae Hyo hissed while snapping his opponent’s neck. “First werewolves and now VAMPIRES? Our own race? Seriously? What happened to your father, Jiho?” U-Kwon scowled as he deflected an adversary’s every strike. “Geez, this won’t stop!” Kyung grumbled as his hand flung two foes up into the sky, sending them to the cold and hard ground. They grunted in lethargy.

Zico threw one of the assasins to the side effortlessly, “That old man sure is clever.”

In the midst of the battlefield, two shadows approached them and instantaneously, all of the heads ce the two shadows caught their attention. Block B gaped at the sight. All the enemies dropped into a wave of silence upon seeing none other than…

Sang Min.

“Look here, Jiho. What do I have here?” Sang Min questioned as he showed Zico a familiar figure that was trapped in Sang Min’s arms, desperately trying to escape from the tight and suffocating grasp. *. How’d he find her?*

“Let go of her, Sang Min. I swear if you don’t do it, I’ll rip your head off!” Zico snarled with a dangerous glower. “How cruel. I’m just getting started anyways, Jiho. No need to rush, you know?” Sang Min leered with an amused look, “Now I wonder…what I should do with her first? After all, the party is over once she’s dead. This human girl…I wonder how her blood tastes.” Sang Min smirked as he put his lips near your neck. Your eyebrows pinched together, frightened.

Block B stiffened over his unpredictable movement. “Don’t EVER lay a hand on her, you ing bastard!” Zico darted forward but stopped when Sang Min spoke up again, “Another step forward and I’ll rip her neck off. I need to drink some blood right now, Jiho. One step forward and she’ll be dead meat.” Zico gritted his teeth, clenched his fist until his knuckles turn white. He was stuck in between anger and fear. No way could he let that happen.

Block B hopelessly looked at you. As much as they wanted to help you, your safety was their first priority. Zico squeezed his eyes shut as Taewoon worriedly glanced at his debilitated brother. *If only I was strong enough to stand against Sang Min…* He once again shifted his gaze back to his little brother that was enduring himself from taking another step towards Sang Min with all his might.

“I’m sorry, Jiho.”

-------------------------------------------

The only thing that Block B could do was send piercing glares to Sang Min. They didn’t know what to do. What’d happen? When will it stop? Who’d survive? Would they be able to save you? All of the unanswered questions became into a ball of mystery for them to find out.

Just as they were about to give their hope up, a figure approached from behind Sang Min. With a fluid moment, you were released from Sang Min’s deadly arms. Sang Min didn’t look that surprised, although inside, it didn’t really delight him. You let yourself fall to the ground. You turned to meet eyes with someone you knew. A small gasp went out from your lips *Myungsoo!*

“Well, well. Another ally of yours, Jiho?” Sang Min glanced at the surprised Zico, who didn’t even expect this to happen, though, he must thank L for saving the day. L came over to you and stooped down with a concerned look, “You okay, ~~~~~?” All you did was nod because you knew at this moment, you couldn’t really find your voice. You didn’t know what you were feeling right now, whether you were relieved or shocked. “Myungsoo, what’re you doing here? H-how did you know…?” You trailed off, looking down at the ground, almost becoming speechless. L warmly smiled, “No matter where you are, I’ll always find you.” A tear fell down your cheek, “Thank you, Myungsoo.”

“No worries,” He responded and swiftly brought himself up, “I don’t know what this is about but at least let me join you guys and...you,” He directed his gaze on Sang Min, “I’ve seen you before.” Sang Min gave him a devilish smirk, “Of course you’ve seen me before. I’m Master Woo’s loyal servant.” “Thought so,” L scoffed as he took out his silver dagger, “Let’s get started then.” Sang Min leered and quickly snapped his fingers and in a split second, a group of vampires appeared.

“First, why don’t you play with my assassins? They’re worth your try.”

“Sure, why not?” Soon, the blood-shedding fight continued.

-------------------------------------------

L ran towards the assassin that stood not too far away from him and charged his dagger to the vampire’s heart. Blood splattered on his body as the enemy screamed in pain, turning into ashes right away. L spat on it. In the midst of the battle, Sang Min secretly watched L with an amused grin, “This kid is not bad. I wonder what’ll happen if I hurt him?” He continued smirking and soon entered the war.

Block B was fighting with all they had along with L and Taewoon. To their dismay, however, they were running out of energy. They needed help. At least, someone who was strong enough to join them. As if their prayer had been accepted, 6 figures came to their rescue. L squinted his eyes to get a better look at the uninvited guests. After a few moments, the corner of his lips went upwards at the sight of his friends, Infinite. “What brought you guys here?” L questioned Dongwoo as the others engaged themselves in the combat. “Nothing, really. We just want to help our friend right here,” Dongwoo smirked as he aimed his gun at one of the vampires. “Sunggyu hyung was mad at first when he found out that you were gone! You should have seen him throw a big tantrum! It was epic!” Sungjong added while repeating what Sunggyu did back then. L smiled, “Thanks, guys.” “No prob but first, we gotta finish ‘em up.” Dongwoo warned as he knocked a foe down in one blow.

L and Sungjong exchanged knowing looks and went off to take down the opponents.

So far, everything was under control. You stayed low on the other safe side, watching the real war happening in front of your eyes. You trembled a lot from coldness since you’ve lost a lot of energy. *Please be safe, everyone. I wish I can do something too.* You anxiously watched them fight. Little did you know that Sang Min had secretly emerged behind L with a dagger almost the same as his.

His glistening red eyes landed on L’s back as a leer crept up upon his lips.

And before you knew it, L slumped down onto the solid ground with a loud, heavy grunt. What terrified you most was the red liquid flowing out of his body. Your eyes opened wide.

“Oh no…”

At that time, time seemed to slow down.

Chapter 47: When Myungsoo died it made me cry. The very last chapter made me cry too. But I think maybe the little bit of snow when she was at his grave was his way of showing he is still watching over her. I loved this fic
