Meaningless Life
The Monster That Steals Her HeartYou looked at the grandfather’s clock that was standing at the corner of the living room. With your expressionless face, you looked around, not knowing what to do.
It had been 5 years since your parent died in an accident for some odd reasons which you didn’t know what the cause was.
After reminiscing the memories of you and your parent living together as a perfect family, you went outside of your big mansion-like home which was surrounded by the natural forest.
You sighed in content watching the birds chirping a peaceful sound. *It’s pretty lonely during the holidays…*
You walked around for another 20 minutes and went back straight to your house.
“How meaningless my life is. Look at my hideous face.” You mockingly looked at your reflection in the mirror.
Ever since the day your parent left you, you always humiliate your hideous face which was not true.
You have a long jet black hair which shines brightly matching up with your pale, beautiful face yet you didn’t realize about it.
How can you not notice your own perfect features?
Simple. The students at your school always insulted you for being an orphan.
When the afternoon came, you cooked a simple meal for a single person since you had nothing to do. The silence made you feel lonely.
Unknowingly, you broke into a silent sob, calling your parent’s name hoping that they would come and comfort you which was impossible for those things to happen.
*Why do I always torture myself by letting the loneliness me into it while I can just…die…* You curled up your knees and hugged them.
*Die? Yeah…I can just die if I want to. No one cares for me anyways…* You stood up and darted to your room without having a second thought.
You looked around and spotted a razor blade lying on the end table near your bed. You grabbed it and sat down on your bed.
“I don’t care about the world…anyways…” A single tear slid down to your face.
“…and who else cares about me? No one…so it’s worth it.” You closed your eyes and pressed your lips together into a thin line.
You gripped the razor blade tighter as you moved it closer towards your wrist. “I don’t…regret this. I hate this world.”
“Yeah…I’ll leave this ruthless world if I die right now.” Without having second thoughts, you pressed the sharp razor blade onto your delicate skin as it tore apart and red blood came out dripping onto the carpet.
That was when the door flew open, revealing Hyo Won, your best friend. An anxious look was attached on her face as cold sweats dripped down from her forehead.
When she spotted a bloody red color dripped down from your wrist, she quickly yanked your hand to her.
She yelled in outrage, “Why are you doing this crap?! Why?! Because you can’t live anymore without your loving parent?!”
You burst into heartbreaking cries and held your bleeding wrist with your other hand. The blood made red stains on your white dress.
Hyo Won softened and stooped down. She hated it when you cry because it hurts her heart to see her best friend like this.
She took your injured wrist and wiped the blood that didn’t stop coming out of your wrist.
She ran to the bathroom and fetched the first aid-kit that was resting inside a cabinet. She ran to you and treated your bleeding hand cautiously.
“Please don’t do that ever again, ~~~~~” Hyo Won sighed as she tugged you into the bed. You glumly nodded as she sighed in relief.
She was about to leave when you all of a sudden grabbed her hand. She immediately turned and looked at you, “What’s wrong?”
You looked into her eyes and pleaded, “Please stay with me. Don’t leave me.”
She smiled sympathetically and hugged you, “Don’t worry. I won’t. I’ll stay here.”
With those magic words, you let go and lied down. She beamed and twisted the doorknob, “Don’t worry. I’m just going to close the windows. I’ll be back.”
You nodded as she closed the door.
After 15 minutes, she entered your room and sat down on the edge of your bed.
You patted an empty space beside you, gesturing her to lie down beside you. She obediently lied down and took an extra pillow on your bed.
“Go to sleep.” She ordered. You nodded and after a few minutes, you fell into a deep slumber. Hyo Won smiled and closed her eyes.
*Don’t ever leave me again, ~~~~~.*
