Zico’s hand was still wrapped around your body. Your fragile body remained still in his tight grip, mostly shocked and confused. He worriedly glanced at you with his now black and empty eyes.

“Hey, are you okay?”

His words brought you back into the reality. Even though, you had woken up from your thoughts, you still didn’t let out any word escape your lips. Instead, you broke free from his arm and slowly and weakly walked off. You didn’t know why did your body feel this weak and couldn’t possibly move but you forced yourself to make a move.

Zico stared at you. He knew you were confused but what he really had confirmed was…you were scared of him. He realized his foolishness for doing such stupid yet superstitious thing. His eyes immediately softened when he saw you desperately trying to stand up on your own feet.

As a reflex, his right hand reached out to grab your hand. When his fingertips slightly touched your skin, you jerked your hand to your chest with your other hand automatically comforted your hand as if it had gone frozen.

Zico was shocked and stared at you with his rounded eyes. You were too shocked yourself after realizing your sudden behavior. Why did your retreat your hand when Zico’s fingertips made a contact with your skin?

Was it because of the incident that happened a while ago?

You were too afraid to get closer to him. “Hey—” He didn’t even finish his words when he saw you sped off forward without glancing at him for the second time. He quickly caught up to you as fast as a lightning.

“~~~~~. I can explain.” He tried to stop you from walking further from him. It hurt him a lot. However, you didn’t stop walking, wanting to forget everything that was confusing you in the moment until a cold hand took your wrist with a full force.

“Please.” He begged.

Eventually, you stopped and warily glanced at him. His eyes were softened and the plea he had just said was really serious and sincere. You couldn’t help but to be softened by it. “Look. I can explain.” Zico pleaded with his eyes glistening with pure hope.

You looked away at first, averting his eyes. “~~~~~.” He said again. At last, you turned to him again and breathed, “Okay.” He let out a relieved sigh and gestured you to follow him. You obediently followed.

Truthfully, deep inside, you really wanted to know what his true identity was but you tried to deny the truth.

The two of you arrived at an old abandoned building. You looked around in puzzlement. *Why did he bring me here?* You uncomfortably glanced at the creepy surrounding. Zico turned to you, “I know I was wrong to keep this secret from you but now that you grew suspicious of me…I guess I have no choice but to reveal you the truth.”

*The…truth?* Astonished, you stared at him.

He came closer to you without warning. Slightly taken aback, you moved a step backward, “W-what is it?” “I’m not a normal human being actually.” He began while meeting your eyes with those sincere eyes of his. “What do you mean?” You curiously asked.

“Will you believe me if I’m different from you?” He asked. You nodded. “Then…you should know that…” He inched closer. This time, you stayed on your current position.

“…I’m a vampire.” He whispered with a tender and soft voice. *V-vampire?*

“So that was the reason why the car got a huge damage on its front, huh…” You muttered. This kind of thing was still too unacceptable for you to take it into your head. You were really confused by now.

Do vampires even exist in this world?

You fervently shook your head, brushing off the unnecessary thoughts. Zico glanced at you, “Do you believe me?” You looked up at him. You didn’t know whether you believe in him or not.

*I’m sorry, Jiho…but…* “Jiho oppa…” You began. He looked at you with hope burning inside him. “I’m sorry…but I just need some time to think. It’s still too hard to get it into my head.” You lowered your head down, unable to look at him straight in the eyes.

His shoulder slumped in disappointment. Part of him understood you but another part of him couldn’t help but to have a little bit of hope, expecting you to accept him for whatever he was. You sensed his disheartened look and took out the courage to cup his head with both of your tiny hands.

“When I said I need some time, doesn’t mean that I’ll leave you. It’s not like that at all.” You managed to gaze him with your eyes filled with pure honesty. Just by that look, Zico softened and nodded. You smiled and let go of your hands from him, ready to walk away.

“I’ll wait for you.”

You turned around and stared at him with rounded eyes. Unconsciously, a sincere and genuine smile replaced his lips. You smiled back automatically, “We’ll meet again when I’m ready.”

He nodded in acknowledgement. With that, you left. That was the time the two of you parted ways.

 Zico watched you from the distance. *I’ll wait for you.* Afterwards, he vanished into the dark.
