It was supposed to be a nice and bright day but it somehow didn’t seem like it for Hyo Won. She would be groaning whenever some girls were gossiping about the new guy, Kim Myung Soo. Well, what could you say? It was annoying after all, even for you.

“God! Why are they spreading gossips like they are something hot?!” Hyo Won’s face became red. You patted her back comfortingly but it was useless since your words obviously added oil into the fire, “It is hot, as a matter of fact.”

She narrowed her eyes at you. “Oh, now you are on their side?” She accusingly said. You shook your head, “No. I was only saying what is right.” She sighed in irritation, “Seriously. That guy is definitely annoying. Yeah, he is handsome but it’s gaining much more attention and I hate it.”

You raised a brow, “Hyo Won, you hate him?” “No. That’s not it.” She convinced. “I actually despise those girls.” She pointed at a few girls that were busy looking at the new student. You chuckled lightly, “Let’s just go to our class, Hyo Won.”

“Fine.” She pouted and stomped her feet like a little child, making her way to the classroom. You giggled over her childishness as you tailed her from behind.

L who was standing below a nearby tree, smiled. He was happy to be able to see you smile again. After a moment, he followed along behind you but you were too preoccupied to realize his existence.

Seeing you laugh over Hyo Won’s actions made his heart flutter. He couldn’t tell how much happy he was to be able to see you closely this time. All along, he had been watching over you from somewhere that was far away.

*Keep smiling like that, ~~~~~. You’re beautiful when you smile.*

He put his hand on his chest. He could feel his heart beating harmoniously just by looking at you. It was a miracle. For other people, they would have thought that he had gone insane for falling in love for such a normal girl like you.

No. The other people were blind since they couldn’t find your perfect features.

He exhaled a mouthful of oxygen and began to walk normally. He headed to his class to get ready for the homeroom.

Lessons had started. All of the students were paying their full attention towards the board. L’s seat was just behind yours. He chose to take that seat for some reason that you didn’t know about.

Whenever you turned to him, he would flash you a gentle and heart-warming smile. You couldn’t help but to give him a sweet smile back. For some reason, those smile of his somehow made your heart flutter.

You didn’t know why. It felt like you had known him for a very long time already. That kept replaying in your mind all this time. His name couldn’t leave your head. It kept replaying.

*Kim Myung Soo. Who is he?*

After thinking for a moment, you suddenly felt like someone was watching you. Your head instantly turned backward, facing L. He was genuinely gazing at you like you were the most precious thing in the world.

You uncomfortably shifted your gaze downwards, looking at your shoes. “Um, Myung Soo-sshi, is there something wrong with my face?” You finally asked him.

He snapped out of his daze and glanced at you until he realized what he had done, “I’m sorry for looking at you like that.” But eventually his frown was replaced by his sweet smile, “Can we be friends?”

You blinked at him, baffled. “E-excuse me?” You assumed that you had heard him wrong. He repeated what he had just said, “Can we be friends from now on?” You were surprised yet at the same time touched.

Who knew that a handsome guy suddenly wanted you to be friends with him?

“Are you sure?” You eyed him worriedly. He stared at you, “Yes, I am. Why? Is there something wrong with that?” You gave him a weak smile, “Won’t you regret being friends with someone like me? Everyone here…you know…” You stopped at your track.

He came closer to you, gazing at you intently. You knew that he wanted you to continue your speech. “…Everyone hates me here…” You whispered softly.

He immediately softened. *Why would they hate an amazing creature like you?*

“I don’t care. What I care is that I want to be your friend.” He replied confidently. “Really?” Your eyes were ready to let out thousands of tears but you held them back. “Yes.” He smiled sincerely from the bottom of his heart.

You knew that he really meant that. You were speechless this time. “Thank you.” That was the only thing you could say along with an earnest smile forming upon your lips.

He softly gazed at you, “You’re welcome.” You were starting to get teary. However, you tried your best to stop the dreadful tears from flowing out of your eyes. L somehow noticed that and quickly reached out his right hand and wiped off the hot tears that were b in your eyes, “Don’t cry, ~~~~~. Just smile. You look gorgeous whenever you smile.”

You just nodded your head. You didn’t know what to say that time. L watched your every move.

*How could I leave you? After all, you are the only person I could see in my eyes.*

L continued wiping off your tears. Little did you know, Zico was watching you and L all the time. He clenched his fists furiously. *Who the hell is he? What exactly is he to her?*

He glared at L menacingly. *Kim Myung Soo, who exactly are you?*
